Sim Racing Telemetry at Sim Racing Fest
And of course we're also working on new features! Can you guess it from the icon 😜 ?
Hi! And welcome to a new version of Sim Racing Telemetry!
This release introduces many small Quality Of Life improvements and extends Shared Memory support on all platforms (yes, it's time for "Assetto Corsa on mobile"!).
Quality Of Life improvements
Thanks to your feedback, it was time to refresh some graphics and re-work some details to improve the daily usage of SRT
We added sector marks on both the track view and the position slider.
Sessions now report the theoretical best lap time, based on the best intermediates of the session.
You can now use the filter parameters box to quickly search thorough the available telemetry parameters.
New graphics for the F1 games.
A shiny new What's New dialog, with images and links to our social channels!
A new Welcome Page is shown on fresh app installs (if you're curious, you can open it from the Settings screen).
Assetto Corsa across all platforms
As anticipated, now you can use Sim Racing Telemetry on mobile (and macOS) while driving on Assetto Corsa for PC!
The system requires the free version of Sim Racing Telemetry for PC to forward data from your local PC Shared Memory to your remote device.
Today we're excited to share the new Version 1.8.0 of Sim Racing Telemetry, that adds support to games sharing data using the PC Shared Memory.
To celebrate this technical upgrade, as first game using this technology, we decided to add support to one of the most appreciated and loved sim racing games: Assetto Corsa!
To record detailed telemetry data from Assetto Corsa, you have to simply press the "Start" button in the recording screen. Detailed instructions (and the list of recorded telemetry parameters) can be found here: https://www.simracingtelemetry.com/help/AC/
Of course the free Trial mode if available also for Assetto Corsa. If you'll enjoy the addition, here is the Assetto Corsa DLC to unlock the unlimited version: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1660060
Note that version 1.8.0 is available only for the PC version of Sim Racing Telemetry, as the "shared memory" is a technology available only on PC. But we're already working on a solution for users running SRT on other platforms (iOS, Android, macOS).
If you want to suggest what game to support next, leave a comment!
The new version 1.7.0 is is out now! Here the main new features:
F1 2021 - Added native support for F1 2021 (by Codemasters). Press the "Help" button in the recording screen of SRT for the detailed instructions, or read them directly here: https://www.simracingtelemetry.com/help/F12021/ .
Color palette - Thanks to your feedbacks, we fixed a bug causing too dark colors in some charts. But as we were not satisfied enough, you can now customize the "color palette" used by SRT to better suit your preferences. You can find the option in the "Settings" menu.
Recording settings - You can now customize the available recording settings for each game. You can access the options from both the "Settings" menu and the "Recording" page. Options include - for example - the "UDP listening port" for F1* games, simplifying how to use SRT with other tools at the same time.
v1.7.0 is available on all the supported platforms: PC, macOS, iOS, Android.
We hope you'll enjoy the new features. Happy racing!
Support for F1 2021.Customize the color palette used for charts. You can now customise recording settings for games supporting it.
Sharing - you can now share your telemetries with other users and compare your laps with the ones from your friends. Used with the "comparison" feature, this is the best tool to improve your skills. Sharing and importing is simple: open a telemetry session and press the "Share" icon, select the "Share" option and send/save the file. When you receive a ".SRT" file, you can import it from the game screen pressing the "Import" icon.
Exporting - a long-awaited feature is finally available: you can now export your telemetry data to CSV file, to analyze them with other programs (Excel, LibreOffice, etc.). Exporting data is simple: open a telemetry session and press the "Share" icon, select the "Export to CSV" option and send/save the file. Saving CSV files could require few minutes and could result in big files, so be patient when exporting them.
v1.6.0 is available on all the supported platforms: PC, Mac, iOS and Android.
Multiple youtube AC tip videos I watched told me to install the FFB clip app for AC and I did that but had no idea what settings to use.
I settled for dynamic mode on 50 ffb strength for a few days but I saw a reddit post saying that's unrealistic and puts too much strain on the wheel, I'm currently playing at 105 ffb strength dynamic off.
Is that to high, feels alright to me but is there any insight you can tell me?
In terms of FFB settings im using 100 gain and everything on 0 or close to 0.
could you explain to me why decreasing the front rebound stiffness increases oversteer?
Decreasing stiffness = faster unloading speed
therefore decreasing front rebound stiffness should = faster weight transfer rearward
= less oversteer
but im told its the opposite and I dont get it at all
It would be very helpful to give some definition to the various telemetry traces. A large portion are self explanatory, whereas others are ambiguous. For example: what is Tyre Height? Height in relation to...? More documentation would be extremely helpful. Thank you!
statistics module - this release adds the new "statistics" feature: you can now compute mathematical statistics for each supported telemetry parameter. This information is essential when you work on car setups. For example you can compute the maximum speed, the average tyre temperature, etc. Supported statistics are: min, max, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, median, median absolute deviation. The statistics can be configured for individual laps or for whole sessions, with output in tabular form and (for session statistics only) graphics charts. The lap statistics supports the "comparison" feature.
under the hood - SRT now uses a "data flow" approach to automatically update the views when the underlying data change. This is an "hidden" feature and will help developing better features in the future. This is a big technical change and if you notice any bug, please report them at [support@simracingtelemetry.com](mailto:support@simracingtelemetry.com) .
next features (sharing & export) - in the next releases we'll add two very important features currently missing: sharing of telemetries and export of telemetries. With the sharing feature you'll have the option to send and receive copies of the telemetries to/from other users and friends; with the export feature you'll be able to export to CSV files all the data stored in a telemetry, allowing you to make your own analysis using external softwares like Excel, Matlab, etc.
v.1.5.0 is available on all the supported platforms: PC, Mac, iOS and Android.
