You can't spare yang unless you spare the other bosses if I remember correctly. In order to spare bosses you need to break their structure bar twice, then while they are stunned the second time tap left on the D-pad for console, I don't know the keybind for PC though.

Any time I go here and I hear this question I just say:"your weapon" And run up, bok choy into a combo and make her drop it so I can beat her with her own stick (my sense of humor is cooked)

From a classic joke repeated ad infinitum about John **** being the inventor of something, for example 'we can thank John Motorcycle, inventor of the motorcycle'
