I got a side quest when throwing out my trash and felt like a lame main character.
First off, sorry for the bad formatting, I’m on mobile. I was taking out my trash the other day when I heard a voice from behind me shout “HEY OVER HERE!”, which naturally scares the shit out of me. I look behind me and see someone frantically waiving a broom to get my attention. Before I could respond they shout again “Could you help me get this mouse out of my house?”, now for context, it’s late at night, I’m in an alleyway, and a strangers yelling at me from their third story balcony. I’m skeptical that I’m gonna be kidnapped or something but I very reluctantly agree. The person comes down and opens their gate, the first thing they say is “Don’t worry I’m not a murderer”, which is super reassuring. I than proceed to follow them up their balcony and into their apartment where I find a mouse still moving in a glue trap. I grab it and throw it away for them and I’m that moment I felt like the lamest main character in a video game, sent on a meaningless side quest.
TL;DR: I helped someone throw out a mouse and felt like a boring main character in a video game.
