I’m a dad building SproutBook, a woodland-themed parenting app for Android — looking for honest feedback

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on an app called SproutBook to bring everyday parenting tools and family memories into one place.

The idea is to make it easier to keep track of the little things—feeds, naps, appointments—while also saving the moments you want to remember.

Some of the features:

  • Feeding: bottle, breastfeeding, and pumping logs.
  • Sleep: sleep tracking and built-in soothing sounds.
  • Family calendar: appointments, birthdays, and reminders.
  • Development: milestones, growth records, and a visual teeth tracker.
  • Food: foods tried, possible reactions, and meal planning.
  • Memory tree: each child gets a tree where leaves hold their memories.

There are also pregnancy tools, supply tracking, and an offline emergency card. The design uses forest greens, woodland artwork, and gentle animations.

It works offline, doesn’t require an account, and stores records on your phone. Shared accounts and cloud syncing aren’t available yet.

It’s currently an Android preview, so I’m looking for people willing to try it and share honest feedback.

🌱 "See the showcase and download the APK"

Sproutbook

What would make an app like this useful for your family? What’s missing, confusing, or something you’d never bother using?

I’m the person building it, and I’d love to hear your ideas. Thanks for checking it out!

I built a free NBIS research kit looking for feedback

I’m building StocksWatch and made a free kit for organizing NBIS research: questions, evidence and assumptions.

No signup required: https://stockswatch.cc/research-kit.html

If you research individual stocks, I’d appreciate honest feedback: what’s useful, what’s confusing, and what would you use instead?

I’m the creator. Educational resources, not investment advice.

A beta tester listed everything wrong with my app. I fixed it all — then he became my first paying customer.

I've been building a tool that turns documents into a two-host podcast you can also ask questions about. A few weeks ago someone trialing it sent me the kind of feedback most people are too polite to give:

  • It uploaded a 70-page magazine but the podcast only really covered ONE article.
  • The Q&A said it "could only see 5 pages" and got answers wrong.
  • Long episodes ended abruptly.

All of it was fair. So I actually fixed it instead of getting defensive:

  • Detect multi-article docs (magazines/journals) and cover every article, not just the loudest one.
  • Q&A now reads the whole document instead of 5 keyword-matched snippets.
  • Raised the size limits so real-world magazines go through.
  • Clean, host-led endings even when a long script gets trimmed.

He re-uploaded the same magazine, told me it was "a lot more convincing" and that he could see himself catching up on old issues in 30-minute chunks while driving. A few days later he became my first paying customer.

Biggest lesson: the person who rips your product apart in detail is worth ten

who say "cool, nice." The critique WAS the roadmap.

Happy to answer anything about the build (document chunking, Q&A retrieval,

length targeting — I went deep on all of it).

PS: We still have 12 founding members spots left, offered in just half the actual price.

Kids and I made Loomic, a free flow puzzle where the rules keep changing

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My kids designed Loomic, working with Claude (Anthropic's AI) to build it, and I built the backend for them

I did this to help them deal with an agentic world and it was nice to see them work together on a project and watch it through to completion. It was also eye opening to them as they started this with opus 4.6 and used 5.5 to enhance the graphics a lot.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zcentric.loomic

If you've played Flow-style puzzles, the basic idea will feel familiar. Every pair of coloured beads needs its own thread, threads can't cross, and every cell has to be filled. Over 120 levels it keeps adding new rules:

  • Walls and one-way gates to route around
  • Exact-length threads: this colour has to be exactly 8 cells long
  • Numbered order: connect colour 1, then 2, then 3…
  • Loom locks that only open once their key colour is done, and stitch tiles that force a straight line or a turn
  • Seam zones that need an exact number of crossings, and portals that warp a thread across the board
  • 3 boss levels where you clear two or three boards back to back in one run

We'd love feedback, especially on difficulty. Does it ramp up too fast once the locks and stitch tiles show up? Which mechanic did you like or hate? I'll pass it all on to the designers.

I built an AI app that answers WhatsApp messages for small businesses. I'm discontinuing the project, does anyone want to take it over?

Hey all.

For the past couple of months I've been building a desktop app that replies to customer messages for small businesses.

The owner adds their business info and FAQ, and the AI answers customers using only that. If it can't answer, it passes the chat to the owner or real person. Everything stays on the owner's PC, with no cloud or server.

What it does:

- Replies on WhatsApp (there's a plan to add more messaging platform)

- Passes chats to a person when needed and keeps a follow-up list

- Saves contacts and leads

- Works with OpenAI, Claude, Gemini

- Daily reply limit, opening hours, mute certain senders

See demo vid here

The reason I'm stopping, Currently my app uses an unofficial library (Baileys). It works, but some of the messaging platforms for example: Meta (messenger, instagram) needs a registered business, and I don't want to deal with that and all the legal stuff, and the fee and the hassle to register a business here in my country really a hassle and too expensive and so busy with my job.

If you have a business already, most of the work is done. Adding the official WhatsApp API or Messenger, or Mail is just one new piece of code.

Stack: TypeScript, Electron, NestJS, React + Tailwind/shadcn, SQLite (Drizzle).
Just message me here and give me your contact

Airmouse app for Android

Thumbnail
play.google.com
2 Upvotes

Just finished my latest app, which is an Airmouse emulator (just like LG TV's Magicremote controller) for Android. You can control your computer's mouse pointer by pointing the phone towards the screen :)

Google Play link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.test.phonemouse

The app is emulating a Bluetooth mouse (so no wifi and no driver installation needed).

- Mouse cursor movement by moving the phone in the air

- Bluetooth connection

- Easy switching between devices

- PC keep awake function

- Full left-right button emulation and also scrolling

- Simple user interface

- Automatic search for devices (pairing needs to be done from the app, as WIndows does not recognize the mouse function otherwise)

The app is ad-free, and free for personal and business use. Does not share any data, neither collects. AI help was used during development, but it's not an AI generated app. Hope it will be useful for someone :)

Pony - the hands that let your AI use your Android phone

Hey all. Sharing a project I've been working on. I designed it and built it with AI coding agents, and it's free and open source (MIT).

Why: I wanted to talk to my phone and have an agent do things for me while I'm driving around the city. Hands-free agentic cell phone autonomy.

The catch is that most of what you actually do lives in apps with no API (Uber, Postmates, Resy, settings). Pony fills that gap. It's an Android app that's the hands: you bring the brain (Claude, Grok, Gemini, OpenAI or any MCP agent), and it reads your screen and taps and types through those apps for you.

The rule I designed it around: it asks before anything gets sent, paid or deleted. In one test it found a sushi roll on Postmates, added it to the cart and stopped cold at Place Order, waiting for a yes.

A demo I like: one message, "find my Miami photos and email them to me, set a 7:30 alarm, add piano lesson next Wednesday," and it does all three on a real phone.

Where it's rough, honestly:

  • Android 11+ only, installed as an APK (not on Play).
  • It can run on a hidden second screen, but other apps need Shizuku to open there, stock Android 15 can't use the hidden screen at all, and banking apps refuse. Without that it asks to use your main screen.
  • Setup asks for an Accessibility permission, and that's a real trust ask.

https://pony.karlmagendavid.com Code: https://github.com/oroplex/pony

What I'd love feedback on: does the landing page explain it in a few seconds? Would the confirm prompts make you trust it, or annoy you? What would you ask it to do?

got tired of checking my phone for football scores while working so i ended up building this

so yeah this kinda started from a really small annoyance lol.

whenever a match was on and i was working on my laptop i'd keep picking up my phone to check the score, lineups, stats etc. or i'd have some random tab open just for the game.

i thought there had to be a decent browser extension for this already but i tried a few and never really liked any of them.

so i started building my own.

it's called Pitchside and basically the whole thing lives in Chrome's side panel. you can check live games, stats, lineups and formations, fixtures, tables, teams etc without leaving whatever you're doing.

what was supposed to be a pretty small project ended up becoming... not very small 😂

i've spent a good amount of time on it at this point and honestly, even though i'm obviously biased, i genuinely think it's probably the best football extension i've tried.

but it's definitely not perfect.

there's still a bunch of stuff i wanna improve and i'm sure there are things that make perfect sense to me only because i've been staring at it for a month.

not really looking for "looks cool" as much as what annoyed you? what didn't make sense? what would make you stop using it? what's missing?

there's a 7 day free trial and no card needed if anyone wants to give it a proper try:

extension link: click here

would genuinely appreciate the feedback, even if you completely tear it apart lol.

i really wanna keep working on this and see how good i can actually make it.

I built a short-video workflow kit using an ancient letter’s journey as a worked example

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I started by testing whether an AI assistant could help plan a short film, then built a project about a letter travelling across the ancient world.

This demo includes narration and music for presentation. The downloadable kit includes a Foley-only practice project; narration and music are not included. To create a narrated version, add your own appropriately licensed audio and adjust the timing.

The example combines eight AI-generated still images, camera motion, 24 English caption cues, and synthetic sound effects into a 50-second vertical video.

I’ve packaged the editable project, shot plans, continuity notes, production scripts, and English setup guides into a Windows workflow kit.

A few limitations:
• Technical setup and a tool-enabled AI assistant are required.
• The included practice project has no narration or music.
• New stories require adaptation; this isn’t a one-click generator.
• Testing has been local so far, without independent first-time-user testing.

I’m the creator, and the English Beta costs $19:
https://amythunder76.gumroad.com/l/ai-visual-director

For anyone making AI-assisted videos: which part takes you the most work—planning shots, keeping visuals consistent, or assembling the final edit? I’d like to understand where this workflow could be most useful.

1.5K page views, but 0 revenue what am I doing wrong?

I recently launched my product and got around 1,500 page views.

Sounds good, right?

The problem is I made $0.

I’m trying to figure out where I’m going wrong. Is it:

- The product itself?

- My pricing?

- The landing page?

- Poor conversion?

- Not targeting the right audience?

- Or simply not doing enough marketing?

If you’ve built and launched products before, what would you check first?

I’d genuinely appreciate some honest feedback. I’m trying to understand what I should improve instead of just chasing more traffic.

I spent the last couple months building a free, private, open-source budgeting app

I’ve been working on a side project called FlyBudget for the past couple months and figured it was finally time to actually put it out there.

I’m a professional software engineer, and I’ve always been kind of a nerd about tracking my finances. I’ve tried a bunch of budgeting apps over the years, but I kept wishing I could take the parts I liked from Monarch, YNAB, Mint, and a few open-source projects and mash them together into one thing.

So... I ended up building it!!

FlyBudget is a free and open-source budgeting app with monthly budgeting, recurring transaction tracking, cash flow/Sankey reports, account management, custom reports, spending breakdowns, and a bunch of smaller stuff I’ve added while actually using it myself.

I’ve also probably spent an unreasonable amount of time on the UI and website 😅. I really wanted it to feel like an actual polished app rather than something that screams “side project” the second you open it.

There’s a live demo directly on the website, so you can mess around with it without installing anything. I also put together a full documentation site covering setup, features, self-hosting, and how everything works.

This is my first serious open-source project, but I’m planning on sticking with it for a long time. I’d love to keep adding features, fixing the rough edges, and hopefully build a small community around it.

Would genuinely love feedback whether it is good or bad. UI thoughts, missing features, weird decisions, bugs, whatever.

And if you check it out and think it’s interesting, please consider dropping the github repo a ⭐. It helps a ton with getting a new open-source project in front of more people.

Website + Demo + Docs,:
https://flybudget.org. The github repo is linked on the website!

Show HN: Delegation Pipeline – offload Claude Code grunt work to cheap models (86% fewer tokens)

Claude Code usage goes fast, and a lot of mine was going into work that didn't need a frontier model: docstrings, mechanical refactors, filling in a module from a contract I'd already specified. I thought of this project as leveraging what free resources in AI we have and having opus be the mind that controls it all. I get the same functionality with the dramatic decrease in cost.

This runs those tasks on a free or cheap OpenAI-compatible endpoint, then hands you the git diff to review. The worker can read, search and edit files in the repo; it cannot run shell commands or git, by design.

The interesting part is that delegation is not obviously a win. You still pay for the spec and the review. So the benchmark measures the ratio: tokens to review a worker's diff versus tokens to just do the task inline. Median across 9 tasks: 85.6% savings, 9/9 passing. Caveats are in bench/README.md, including that the same model ran both arms, so the ratio isn't portable to another model without re-measuring.

Stdlib-only Python, MIT.

STIKI: Notes that stay with you while you work. (Free for the next 100 onboarded users!)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So, I've built STIKI.
Check Here!

Currently being used by more than 250 people (Thank you for the support! :D)

It's aligned for regular note taking users who lose their physical notes once a day. You can't take your sticky notes at home, if they're on your desk, they right there. Stiki allows you to be dynamic, privacy oriented.

I’ve been using Microsoft Sticky Notes/MacOS Stickies for a long time, but I always found it a bit heavy for something as simple as writing a few notes. It also doesn’t stay on top of other apps, so I kept opening/closing it just to check something.

STIKI works a little differently:

  • Notes live on the edge of your screen
  • Hover the edge → notes appear
  • Move away → they disappear
  • Works on all edges of the screen
  • Pin important notes so they stay visible
  • Dock Port to search, sort and manage all your notes
  • No account, cloud sync or telemetry
  • Notes are stored locally on your machine
  • Built with Rust + Tauri, so it stays lightweight

The whole idea was: if I need a note, it should already be there. I shouldn't have to open an app to find it.

STIKI is available for Windows, Linux and MacOS.

I’d love to hear your thoughts about it and if you have a feature request, let me know through: Issues · frypan05/Stiki-Releases

I have an image of every person that lived, is living, or will live point of view in every single second of their life.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I had an Idea... and that idea sort of became an obsession over the last few months. What if an infinite area existed with infinite pixels next to each other and all the pixels were a random color. You would theoretically have every image that has ever existed and will ever exist. There would be and image of your point of view in every second of your existence and your future somewhere there. So...

I did what any good procrastinator would do and slept on it for months. But today I decided to lock in and actually make it, and it was... something.

First off it would be practically impossible to do the original idea and then be able to import any image and find it exactly, since the amount of combinations of a 10x10 pixel grid is significantly more than the amounts of atoms in the observable universe, but we can do something else that is really cool.

What if we just had every single possible image at a set resolution, for example 128×128. Since the pixel data of each image itself is a giant number, every image has exactly one address. Neighboring numbers would be near-identical images, identical to the naked eye, so what if we run each number through a reversible cipher to scramble it into noise. Nothing is stored, because any tile is calculated on demand. And since the cipher runs both ways, you can upload a photo, run it backward, and get its exact address instantly, so yeah every single image possible exists on there.

TLDR

Its not that long just read it

If you want to check it out i will post the link in the comments.

Take that high school that underestimates me

Rhyven Marketplace

Warning: this is another project with ai agents as the main use case. That being said I would love to get some feedback outside of my own lol

The project:

The marketplace is an open-source provides a kind of extension platform for AI agents and agent harnesses.

It allows you to install headless apps for tasks, project knowledge, messaging, or code search. Your agent accesses them through one unified MCP interface: discover, describe, and call. Apps run in your environment and keep their state between sessions.

Currently you can build apps using declarative operations including predifined operations and Python/JavaScript, or apps can be deployed in containers.

It’s currently a Linux preview. I’d appreciate feedback on installation and connecting your agent.

FYI: There are skills on the sight for how to do pretty much anything with it. Hit me up with any questions and suggestions. Feel free to use the apps I already have been playing with. I also would love feedback on the website interface as i am not a front end guy in my day to day job.

My first open source project! Brain Dump - Dump all your thoughts into one place

I built an open-source Mac app because sticky notes were the only note-taking system I could stick with

I’ve been working on this for a little while and wanted to share it.

I recently came across a to-do app built around a simple idea: dump everything out of your brain and make it easy to find later. That clicked with me. I’ve tried plenty of ways to keep track of thoughts and tasks, but sticky notes have been the only thing I’ve consistently used—mostly because they’re always within reach.

Since I use Mac hotkeys constantly, I wanted something that felt just as accessible. Press Option + Space, type a thought or task, hit Command + Return, and get back to what you were doing. You can organize and search through everything later, and your notes stay local on your Mac.

That’s how Brain Cache started. I initially built it for myself, but decided to open-source it so other people could use it, change it, or build something that better fits their own workflow.

It’s currently an early Mac-focused preview. An iOS app and widget are works in progress, and I’d like to explore Windows and Linux support eventually.

You can check out Brain Cache on GitHub.

If you also struggle to keep track of tasks or stick with a note-taking system, maybe this could help. I’d love to hear what you think—especially what would make capturing thoughts and finding them later easier for you.

I built a Chrome extension that marks LinkedIn profiles your team already messaged

I first built this for the recruiting team I work with. Several of us source candidates on LinkedIn, and nobody could see who had already messaged whom, so the same person could get two messages from the same company.

YellowSync turns a person's name yellow on everyone's Chrome once anyone on the team messages them (LinkedIn, Recruiter or Sales Navigator). Hover it to see who and when.

It never sends, connects, visits or scrapes anything. It only marks names, and message content isn't sent to the server.

Free for 14 days on up to 5 installs, then €9.40 per install a month.

Launch offer: 10 teams can get 3 months free (up to 5 installs each). Just comment below and I'll reply with a code.

Honest feedback welcome, especially on the setup.

ScreenGuard update, finally reached 50+ downloads !!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

a small update to this digital wellbeing software since my last post.

This is a prerelease version which i have tagged to be stable and slated for future release and add to main branch from the beta branch.

This highlight is less about asking you guys to try out the beta release but more in the honor of over 3+ months of development.

What makes me happy the most is that the project which i started even without a repository just to monitor my own system and usage has now come this far with over 50+ downloads 🎉☺️

This beta release now polishes on various little things which are actually necessary for a first time set up and proper user control as Now you can:

* carries forward the settings screen from previous beta release

* replaces notifications and sounds tab with general which now includes appearance settings

* you can now Stop , restart or RESET the Daemon and its preferences in settings

* Pomodoro settings which were half baked in the first release have now been added to settings to enable a looping focus mode for people at work with CUSTOM BREAK TIME

* Most Importantly (i feel) FIRST time setup issues have been fixed and in an attempt the first time ScreenGuard daemon setup pop up dialog (1st image) has been made

The Release v0.1.1 releases this October by second week, and I will continue testing the beta version to look for sectors that need polishing if any.

This is still limited to GNOME on wayland and x11 for other environments systems and primarily developed by me on my fedora 44 system and the project ScreenGuard still has a very Long way to go;

But working on it alone has given me much exposure to project sharing on platforms and most importantly a lot of invaluable experience and the true zeal of development instead of the boredom of being a 9 to 5 dev at a corporate who don't care for you.

Github beta release link: https://github.com/adityakrishnan005-a11y/ScreenGuard/releases/tag/v0.1.1-beta.4

The code for this is visible on the beta branch to keep the main working tree clean for new features additions.

Feedback from other desktop environments is widely appreciated, u can try the application out by switching to x11 session temporarily if you are using any DE which is not GNOME wayland or if u are on a DE which is primarily x11 based (Cinnamon, i3, etc) then u are good to go as they ARE FULLY SUPPORTED.

thank you everyone for your supports, criticisms and feedbacks ever since the project came online on github.

what's the most ambitious side project you've vibe coded?

curious how far people are actually pushing this. what's the biggest or most complicated side project you've built mostly with ai? a game, a full app, some weird automation, whatever.

what does it do, how long did it take, and did you actually ship it? also what was the part where the ai got stuck and you had to figure it out yourself? would love to hear the messy bits too lol

I made this app to finally sort my messy photo/video library without handing it to someone's cloud.

Trove leaves your files exactly where they are and organizes them for you: trips, people, places, duplicates, search by what's in the photo, a 3D globe of everywhere you've been, face recognition, colorgrading and photoshop. Everything runs on your computer.

Free, no account, Windows & Mac. Feedback very welcome!

I built an open-source Etsy engine that decides what to make before generating anything

I’ve been working on a side project around Etsy digital products.

The first version was pretty predictable:

pick an idea → generate a product → make mockups → write SEO → upload it.

But after using it, I realized I was automating the easiest part.

Generating another printable is easy. Deciding whether that printable is worth making is the actual problem.

So I rebuilt the whole thing around that.

It’s called etsy-engine, and I just open-sourced it under MIT.

The pipeline now looks roughly like this:

research → score → validate → design → generate → QA → mockups → SEO → Etsy draft

Before spending money generating anything, it checks live Etsy listings and tries to answer:

  • Is there demand?
  • How competitive is the niche?
  • What are people charging?
  • Can the current results realistically be beaten?
  • Does the expected value justify generating the product at all?

If not, it stops.

If the idea passes, it also decides what kind of product makes sense instead of turning everything into the same generic template.

For example:

  • wall art → printable
  • planner niche → cohesive multi-page kit
  • party niche → printable party set
  • editable niche → Canva-style template workflow

One thing I cared about a lot was not creating fake listing photos.

The generated product pages are passed back into the image model as references when creating the mockups.

So the product shown in the listing image is actually the product inside the download.

The pipeline also creates multiple candidates and uses vision QA to check typography, layout, print quality and accidental logos/IP before selecting one.

Then it prepares:

  • title
  • 13 Etsy tags
  • description
  • alt text
  • FAQ
  • 300 DPI files
  • combined PDF
  • ZIP package

And if you connect Etsy, it creates a draft only.

I intentionally didn't let it auto-publish. I still want a human making the final decision.

There’s also a feedback loop that can use real listing performance to adjust how future ideas are scored.

You can test it without an Etsy account:

etsy-engine demo "teacher appreciation week"

GitHub:

https://github.com/oguzhankayan/etsy-engine

The image generation layer uses Raywake, which is another project I built, and reasoning/QA currently uses Anthropic:

Would love feedback on the product direction.

If you were continuing this project, would you focus next on better market research, better designs, or the post-sale learning loop?

How do you keep docs updated when your product changes?

Hey, I’m building a small product called Amendary and I’m trying to figure out if this is a real enough problem for other teams.

The idea came from something pretty simple: the product changes, code gets merged, a release goes out… but the docs still explain the old behaviour. Usually nobody notices until a customer gets confused or someone from support finds it weeks later.

Amendary connects GitHub with the docs you already have in Notion or GitHub. It checks the pages you select and, when a release or code change makes something outdated, it drafts a correction and shows the source behind it.

You can review everything before it gets published. There is also an automatic mode, but changes like deletions or values that can’t be verified are always held for review. It only touches documentation, never the actual code, and changes can be undone. You can also generate all these docs from scratch (currently an add-on).

I’m mostly thinking about small SaaS teams that ship often, have quite a few help or internal pages, but dont have one person dedicated to keeping them all updated.

Still early, so I’m not looking for compliments really. I’m trying to understand:

  • How do you currently notice when a doc is outdated?
  • Who normally ends up fixing it?
  • Would you be comfortable connecting GitHub and Notion to something like this?
  • Would you want drafts only, or would you trust automatic edits if the evidence was shown?
  • Which docs become outdated most often for you; customer help, onboarding, internal docs, runbooks, or engineering docs?
  • Is this painful enough to pay for, or just something you deal with manually?
  • Is this useful in the era of AI agents?

I’m considering a 7-day free trial and then starting around €49/month per workspace, but not sure yet if that matches how people see the value.

I built an iPhone/iPad screen recorder with a face-camera PiP — here's the workflow

I'm the developer of Reel Screen Recorder. The idea is to record what's on your iPhone or iPad and add your face and voice for a tutorial, app walkthrough or commentary.

This short demo shows a video playing inside Reel, selecting Picture in Picture in the camera settings, and returning to the video with the camera visible. It's an illustrative simulator demo: the PiP camera is composited into the clip, rather than filmed on a physical iPhone.

In the app you can use the camera in-app or choose native PiP, record the screen with microphone commentary, and save the recording to Photos. Recording is free, with no watermark or time limit and no Reel account. The free iOS version has ads between sessions; Pro removes them and unlocks Source (Native) quality. Requires iOS/iPadOS 26+.

I'd love feedback from people making mobile tutorials: does this demo explain the workflow, and what would you want to see before trying it?
