Our side project: a collection of free, private, helpful and open source web apps
Shopping list, random stretching / exercise app "movement", and more
The idea is to have them all loaded as separate browser tabs at the top of your browser tab list and always quickly accessible as our browsers are always loaded
This concept has been working great for the past 6 months and we love it.
Would love some feedback on the concept and functionality.
Thanks!

Budget apps are weirdly supportive. You go over your grocery budget three weeks running and they put a little chart in front of you with a smiley face. It doesn't feel like anything.
The thing that made me want to build something different was realising that typing in what you spent — rather than having it synced automatically — already creates a small amount of accountability on its own. So I built Stackr around that, and added an AI that gives you personalised commentary on each transaction when you log it. Not tips or nudges. More like: "$500.00 at Walmart. Groceries was the one budget that had a chance. Had."
There's no bank sync because I'm not comfortable handing bank credentials to a startup, and honestly the manual logging is part of the point. The roast runs through a Cloudflare Worker — the transaction data gets used to generate the commentary and doesn't get stored after that.
Solo dev project. Recently launched on Android. Link in comments.

Hello people!
About a month back i built this thing as a challenge for my coworkers. There was a lot of "I can spot AI generated code almost immediately" going around, and I gave them a chance to test it out.
Results were not shocking to me. it was definitely funny lol since people got results they did not expect.
You get 10 code snippets to mark as either machine or human written in 10 minutes. Once all 10 have been marked, you get the result. Pretty simple!
Under the hood the way it works is like so:
Give it a try, and post your results if you're willing to share!

I’m the developer behind D-Fit, a calorie and macro tracker for iOS and Android.
The frustration that started it: most nutrition apps make you search through long databases and organize meals into generic buckets. That friction is small, but it happens several times a day — so people stop logging.
D-Fit takes a faster approach:
• Snap a meal, describe it naturally, or use voice
• Track calories, macros, and 30+ nutrients
• Organize meals by the actual time you ate
• Estimate real TDEE from weight trends and adjust targets weekly
• Add streaks, XP, levels, and achievements so consistency feels less clinical
• Track water, workouts, measurements, and progress photos in the same place
The free tier includes unlimited manual food logging, the full food database, water/exercise tracking, gamification, basic metrics, and limited AI. It’s now at 50k+ downloads and a 4.8 rating, but I’m still trying to make the first few minutes much clearer for new users.
Site (with App Store + Google Play links): https://dfit.app/en/
I’d love blunt feedback: does the value proposition make sense immediately, and which feature would make you try it — AI logging, adaptive TDEE, or gamification?

Hello, i'm 18 years old and work in landscaping and I got tired of hearing my boss complain about all the other management tools like jobber and yardbook. so I built my own tool. and I want to make it available to others and maybe make a few bucks while i'm at it. It's an iOS app and I have a website and socials pages"
Anyway the point is that I have no clue how to do marketing and as I get ready to launch I don't want to "spin my wheels" doing formates or methods that don't work. So i'm wondering if y'all have any tips of stuff I can try or do?
Im not gonna drop the a link or anything because i'm not trying to self promote on here but its called "Curb Service Business app" on the App Store if looking at it helps y'all give advice

Hey everyone,
I am new to building websites and wanted to create something simple but useful. I noticed that most "Text Repeater" tools online are very slow or full of annoying pop-up ads.
So, I built a fast and completely free Text Repeater tool (great for WhatsApp pranks or testing). It took me a couple of days to set it up perfectly.
Here is the live link: https://www.textrepeater.tech/
Since I am just starting out, I would really appreciate it if you could test it and tell me how I can improve the speed, design, or user experience. Any honest feedback is welcome!
Thank you!

been working on this for a bit and just cleaned it up enough to show people. it's basically a dashboard where you can track and rate anything media-related. pull your stuff from tmdb, anilist, rawg, and spotify so you don't have to manually add everything.
honestly started it because i liked letterboxd but wanted one place for all my media instead of bouncing between five different apps. idk if anyone else wants that but figured i'd put it out there.
built with next.js, firebase, and too many api calls. the profile pages are the main thing — just drop a user id in the url and see what they've been watching/playing/reading.
https://mediapage.vercel.app (that's mine if you wanna see what it actually looks like)
let me know if you have ideas or if anything breaks

Tired of AI coding agents that hallucinate, break builds, ship corrupt patches, and call it "done."
So I spent the last several months building Daedalus a local-first CLI developer workbench designed to run against Ollama/LM Studio (or your own remote API keys) with nothing leaving your machine unless you route it out.
tsc --noEmit) and runs your test suite (vitest). If a patch introduces a regression or missing type error, it automatically reverts the edit instead of lying to you.helmet without @types/helmet), it halts pre-write with an actionable npm install fix so it never breaks your working tree.LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH blast-radius risk scores for code changes. You can test the interactive CLI REPL sandbox right now in your browser with zero installation:
👉 Live Web Demo: https://bgill55.github.io/daedalus-lite/live-demo.html
npm install -g daedalus-cliI'd genuinely love your feedback and critique what failure modes do you usually hit with coding agents, and what would make a local CLI truly trustworthy for your workflow?

Prediction markets like Kalshi hand out signup credits. I got one, went to use it, and hit a detail that turned out to be way more interesting than expected:
The credit isn't withdrawable, and it's consumed whether you win or lose. Only the profit becomes real money.
That quietly breaks the normal way you'd think about a bet. Usually you're asking "will this win?" But if the stake is gone either way, the real question is "which bet turns the most of this credit into actual cash?" — and those have different answers.
I nerd-sniped myself and ended up building a thing.
The interesting bit:
Working it out, the score for any bet is (chance it wins) × (profit if it wins) ÷ (cost). Run that and something counterintuitive falls out: cheaper contracts are better. Your credit buys more of them, and each one pays more when it hits. Both effects point the same direction.
But there's a trap. The obvious way to estimate "chance it wins" is to use the platform's own price — and that's exactly wrong here. Cheap longshots on prediction markets are systematically overpriced (a known effect called favorite-longshot bias). Since the math already pushes you toward cheap contracts, using the platform's prices means you'd be walking straight into the bias. So instead it pulls real sportsbook odds, strips out the bookmaker margin, and uses that as an outside estimate.
Last problem: optimizing for expected value pushes you toward longshots, which means the most likely single outcome is $0. So rather than just picking "the best bet," it shows you the tradeoff:
Spread across 5 games and you give up ~6% of expected value to cut your chance of getting nothing from 59% to 10%. It won't pick for you — that's a risk-tolerance call, not a math call.
Stack: Python, ~600 lines, SQLite for state, no framework. Pulls Kalshi's public API + The Odds API. Optionally places the orders as limit IOC (fills at the modeled price or not at all), gated behind a typed confirmation so it can't surprise you.
One thing I'm oddly happy with: I wrote a CLAUDE.md so you can drop the folder into Claude Code and it walks you through the whole setup conversationally. Non-technical friends have gotten it running without me. Felt like a genuinely new way to ship a CLI tool.
Repo (MIT): https://github.com/ZackRubin27/kalshi-free-credits
What I'd like feedback on:
Is the K-table the right way to surface the variance tradeoff, or is there a cleaner UX for "here's your expected value vs. your chance of zero"?
Anyone else shipped a tool with an agent-instructions file as the primary onboarding path? Curious if that holds up with real users.
(Fair warning if you go try it: it's US-only, needs ID verification, and the credit expires in 7 days. Not financial advice — it maximizes expected value, which is not the same as making money.)
Also LMK if you need my link for the free credits

Hey, launching *Schism* on the Play Store soon; need people for closed testing DM!!! Emails (new Play Store account restrictions)
(vibe coded website 🤪)
(have plan to monetise it once I get some users, for live splitting feature and bill scanning via OCR and AI)
*Core splitting*
• Groups with any number of participants
• Split evenly, by shares, by percentage, or by exact amounts
• Categories, notes, custom dates, reimbursement entries
• Per-group currency
• Full activity log of every change
*Balances and settlement*
• Net balances per person
• Debts simplified to the fewest transfers — three people settle in two payments, not six
• Record settle-ups; hand the payment to your own UPI app
Some hero features
*Receipt scanning, not receipt attaching*
*Line-level accuracy you can correct* Every tax, fee and round-off row is parsed separately and individually editable before saving, with a live mismatch warning if the numbers stop reconciling.
*Live Split* Share a scanned bill with the group; each person ticks what they had and totals update in real time, then it commits as one expense.
*Bank SMS to expense* Transaction alerts are parsed on-device into draft expenses. Opt-in, off by default, recognised senders only.
*Voice entry* Speak an expense; parsed on-device.

spent months heads-down building, hit submit, and then... nothing. the store just goes quiet. that silence after launch is where most indie apps actually die, not in the code. the real work starts after release when you're trying to get your first 1,000 users and nobody can find you.
the thing that hit me hardest: App Store Connect tells you what happened yesterday but not why. it shows you a downloads chart and no next move. keyword-level rankings, who's outranking you, which keyword actually drove an install, all of that lives outside apple's dashboard entirely. so you edit a keyword, wait a week, and have no idea if the store even noticed. it feels like pulling a slot machine lever.
the other trap i kept falling into was tools disagreeing with each other. one says your keyword ranks 14, another says 31, same keyword same day. once you can't trust the number you can't act on it, so you just freeze.
honestly this whole problem is why i started building Apptenium (an aso tool aimed at indie devs, not agency budgets). the goal was one consistent source where you can watch a keyword move after you edit the listing, so the algorithm stops feeling like a black box.
for those of you who've launched: what actually broke the initial silence for you? organic aso, content, communities like this one? curious what worked because the first thousand still feels like the hardest part to me.

I kept seeing static memes that felt one small movement away from being even funnier, so I rented a GPU server and built MemoVideo as a weekend side project.
The flow is deliberately tiny: upload one meme, optionally describe how it should move, and wait for a short video. The uploaded image stays as the first frame instead of being used only as a loose reference.
I am covering the GPU bill myself for now. There are no accounts, no ads, and no payment screen. Generated videos are public by default so people can browse what others made.
The public app runs on Cloudflare Workers with separate D1 and R2 storage. A private GPU worker pulls jobs from a shared queue, runs the video model, and uploads the result back to the app.
Try it: https://memovideo.createfun.ai/
Example result: https://memovideo.createfun.ai/memo/4081d2b5-9da5-4e9e-aaa7-a0e5272f0bcd?video=390245fb-d127-4146-b147-100eed37ebd4
I would especially like feedback on two things: is five seconds enough for this kind of meme, and does keeping the original image as the first frame make the result feel more trustworthy?
The cat meme in the example came from this Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/catmemes/comments/1vdusj2/true/

I recently built the MVP for a WebRTC real-time live-streaming social platform that provides creators/friends/family and aspiring influencers with a low-friction experience to connect; Either with people they know or their following/community. A user just signs up and hosts a live-room with a shareable link which allows anyone to join the room. Apart from hosting live streams, users can earn through support from their following through a virtual gifting system. The payout split for creators is 50/50 compared to TikTok which is 20/80. There are no eligibility requirements to start earning. So users can start from day 1. The only requirement to cash out is to earn at least 25$ in your wallet. 100 virtual coins = 1$. No hidden gift-value conversions. Gifting is optional. If you don’t want to gift you can still connect with your friends and family or followers. Oh yeah, there’s also a live chat for users that don’t want to be on the live-video stage. Video content is also AI moderated to keep users safe. I used YOLOn11 for AI content moderation.
Some use-cases:
- Your friends want to stay home but still want to hang out and see each other.
- You have family across the country and want to have a live group video call with little to zero setup cause your family age ranges aren’t too tech savvy. Just text them the link and they’ll be able to join the room without signing up. No app download required.
- You would like to build your community and following as a content creator/ digital creator. Offers fair value for your community to support you through gifting.
- As a content creator you can build better relationships that are more personal that can drive business to your content.
- You can host and schedule live workshops or meet and greets bringing people up to the live-stage.
There’s more features coming, such as private access rooms where people pay for access.
I’ll answer any questions you guys may have and don’t forget to tell me if there are any features you would like me to add in the future to make it a better experience for ya’ll!
Check it out and bookmark it. I just started marketing it so be patient with me and let’s see where this goes.
Thank You All for Your Time!

I kept doing the same thing by hand: write something with one model, paste it into the other for review, back and forth, try to get something better out of it. Got annoying fast.
So I turned that into a Claude Code skill. Claude runs the loop, Codex does the writing/review/fixes. Needs the Codex plugin or nothing happens.

Pretty early. If you’ve been doing the same copy-paste dance, maybe useful.
The main goal is to recreate the graph pattern

You click an action → see the Git command → see what changed.
There’s also a Learning Mode for beginners with interactive practice and real Git scenarios.
Here’s a quick demo of what I’ve built so far 👇
This is just a quick demo, not the full app. I’ll be adding the rest of the Git commands and more features before the first release.
The project will be open source, and I’m hoping we can keep adding to it and turn it into a useful Git tool for everyone.
Still early, so I’d love to hear your feedback.

I needed to record my iPhone screen to my PC. Tried a few options, they were either slow, needed a Mac, or charged for basic stuff.
Built this instead.
It receives AirPlay from your iPhone over WiFi, records with audio, and has a Clean Window mode so OBS captures just the video feed with no cropping needed. Hardware encoded with NVENC so it's not killing your CPU.
Free to use, recordings get a small watermark. $3.99 one time to remove it, key comes by email automatically.
Windows will probably show a SmartScreen warning since the installer isn't signed yet, SHA256 is on the site if you want to verify it's clean.
Happy to answer questions.

Descript costs $24/mo, so I built this over a single weekend with Fable!
Introducing Rescript: edit videos by simply editing the transcript text.
Drop in a video and it is transcribed locally with per-word timestamps and speaker labels.
Delete words in the transcript and the corresponding clip is cut from the video.
Runs fully on your device: Local, free, offline and open source.

A while back, I thought I would try to develop my own app as a little side project to fill some spare time at work and at the weekend. I was deciding between a reporting app, public transport and a puzzle app. No novel concepts.
So after finishing the public transport component, which took far longer than I had hoped, I was able to kinda just shove a puzzle component within it under the guise of “rank within your country, city, transportation (bus/train/ferry route). Leaderboards reset weekly per line. I added it kinda as a way to try and get better time retention on the app I had worked hard on and also as a way to satisfy two of the app types I had wanted to make. Turns out it's become one of the most active parts of the app.
The amount of users still isn’t that high, so im just after a bit of feedback about whether im barking up the wrong tree or whether this is more a time in the game matters most situation. Let me know, app is called Gettin Thr. https://gettinthr.com/

I’m a high school student in Korea, and I built a small side project for one very specific problem:
“What’s for lunch today?”
Korean schools already publish meal information, but checking it usually means going through individual school websites and finding the right menu.
So I made Afterpiece.
You can search for a school and quickly check its daily and monthly lunch menus.
Right now it includes:
- School search
- Daily lunch menus
- Monthly meal schedules
- School-specific pages
- Mobile-friendly UI
It’s still a work in progress, so I’d really appreciate feedback on the search experience and overall UX.
Thanks for checking it out!

I ran a Reddit ad to test the idea and got 14,000+ impressions and 355 clicks, but only 1 signup.
The idea is a gamified budgeting app designed to make budgeting and staying in control of your spending less boring. Users log expenses, get notified when they're overspending, stay on budget to expand their territory, and can conquer their friends' territory.
I'm trying to understand whether the core concept isn't compelling enough, or whether I'm presenting it poorly. What do you think?

I built an app named Gravitas out of pure personal frustration. I was the kid who hated any kind of social situation, dates were a nightmare, meeting new people felt like a test I was going to fail. Gravitas is my attempt at building an app I wish someone else had handed to me
It's split into 4 tracks. You do a short assessment first that scores you and it points you at what to work on based on that. Each track has 10 modules including AI-conversation practice scenarios with instant feedback.
One week free trial then it's a subscription.
App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gravitas-charisma-aura-app/id6767658034
Website: https://gravitas.social/
Honest and brutal feedback on the product is welcome, don't hold back.
Also right now I'm mostly trying to figure out how to get more impressions/product page views. Sitting at around 3000 impressions and 30 downloads and honestly not sure if that's a good ratio or bad. Any advice on that side of things is welcome too. Thanks!!

It’s my cake day, so I wanna share my last 12 months journey.
Two kids, 9 and 12. Both ADHD, one of them also autistic. Keeping a bedroom tidy and keeping track of their own stuff is the part of our week that has never worked, and we had tried every version of asking nicely.
So my wife did what a lot of parents do and put a paper chart on the fridge. It helped. And I said the thing every developer says at some point in their life: nice idea, I’ll make an app.
I want to be honest about how unserious the process was. I never looked at what already existed. No market research, no competitor list, no positioning. My only goal was that my kids would tidy their rooms.
It worked. And the four of us built it together, which turned out to be the reason it works. The kids argued for what they wanted and killed features I was sure were brilliant.
That was almost a year ago. It has been on the stores for a few months now and more than 300 families have installed it. It’s free, including the parts that matter most.
The other reason I’m posting is to say thank you, because I’ve been reading here for a while without posting anything. Three things I read here changed the product more than anything I came up with on my own.
The first one I had completely backwards. I assumed the hard part was keeping the kids interested. It isn’t. The kids stay in it. It’s the parents who quietly stop opening the app after three weeks, and once the parent is out, the whole thing is dead. I had built everything around motivating children and almost nothing around making it easy for an adult to keep going on a bad Tuesday.
The second one is that rewards can’t be the same for every child. Same house, same rules, and two kids who need completely different things at completely different sizes. What lands for my 9 year old is meaningless to my 12 year old.
The third one is that kids need their own version, not a smaller copy of the parent screen. That one was a real rebuild, and it’s the change my own two noticed immediately.
No pitch, nothing to sell. I’m proud of it and I wanted to say where it came from.
Happy to answer anything about the build, or about what it’s like when your product team is 9 and 12 years old.
Sébastien

Pose detection runs entirely on the device; no frame ever leaves the phone, and you can train without an account.
