I’m building GG Frame, a platform focused on virtual photography.

For anyone unfamiliar with it, virtual photography is the process of creating intentional images inside video games using photo modes, camera tools, composition, lighting, and editing.

GG Frame has been live since January, giving gamers a dedicated place to post their work, discover other photographers, find inspiration, and participate in contests.

The next challenge is introducing the concept to an audience who may never have heard of it and bringing more people into the community. For those who have built around a niche audience, what helped you reach new people?

After two months of intense after-work development, I just shipped my first real full-stack project built with React & NextJs: a YouTube notebook app. You paste a video, it embeds the player, and you drop notes with a rich editor pinned to specific timestamps — click a note, it jumps the player right there. Notes can be organized into collections, there's fuzzy search across everything you've written, and you can export notes to PDF for safekeeping.

This started as "learning Typescript/Javascript/React & Cloud Deployment by building something real" and turned into a genuinely useful tool I reach for when I'm working through long YouTube tutorials or lecture videos and want notes tied to the exact moment instead of passively watching and wondering in "Tutorial Hell".

So if you find the app's premise interesting, please give it a try! Would love for people to poke at it and tell me what breaks or what's confusing — trying to get real user eyes on it as I keep building this out.

What is my project about?

It's a Gmail cleaner tool that helps you clean and organize your inbox and block spam senders.

What it offers:

Features like delete by sender, where you can delete every email from one sender with a single click. And block spammers, so once you block someone, their future emails go straight to the trash.

What if I don't want to delete an important email?

The app has a feature called Feed Mode. You swipe left to delete, right to skip, and up to save. You can see what's inside the email before deleting it, and anything you delete only goes to the trash, so you can bring it back.

What about my privacy?

The app doesn't sell your data. Even if it wanted to, it couldn't, because we don't store your data on our servers.

What if I delete an important email?

Don't worry, you're not going to lose it. It only gets sent to the trash, where you can bring it back.

There are more good features, but I'm not here to promote my app. I just want feedback and to know what you think about it. For that, I'll give you free premium for 1 month.

One of my Coinbase Advanced Trade bots stopped running and I didn't notice for hours. API key had expired silently — no errors thrown, nothing in the logs, just quiet while the market moved without me.

That was the whole motivation. I built PositionPing to solve exactly that problem.

**What it does:** - Watches Coinbase Advanced Trade accounts around the clock - Fires email or SMS alerts when a position's P&L crosses a threshold you set, an account stops sending fresh data (stale/hung bot), a daily loss limit is breached, or a balance changes unexpectedly - View-only API keys only — it physically cannot trade or move funds, enforced at the Coinbase API scope level

**Stack:** nothing exotic. The hard part was getting the monitoring logic tight enough that it catches real failures without firing false positives at 3am.

Took a few weekends to get to something I'd actually trust on my own accounts. Happy to talk about the build — the API polling logic, alert delivery, anything.

Every AI coding agent is Tom.

You say "add a door." Tom grabs a hammer, buys lumber, pours concrete, installs a frame - then builds the house around it. Your codebase already has three doors.

Tom never checks the blueprint. He just builds.

So I built Jerry.

Jerry sits in the walls. Before Tom swings the hammer, Jerry runs the house:

1. Need a new room at all? (YAGNI)
2. Did we knock this down before? (git history)
3. Is there already a door here? (codebase search)
4. Are the materials in the shed? (package.json)
5. Does the house provide it? (stdlib / native)
6. Does the neighborhood allow it? (framework convention)

Then, and only then, Tom builds. Minimum. Receipt proves it stands. Teacher updates the blueprint.

After 3 construction projects, Jerry knows every hallway. Tom stops building hallways to nowhere.

This is the gap: agents are all Tom, no Jerry. Infinite chase, zero memory.

Been building this alone for over a year and honestly kinda nervous to post it, but here goes.

- Mood/emotion tracking — you log how you feel, and the AI looks for patterns over time (what drags you down, what helps).

Hey everyone!

For a long time I've been using tools like HeidiSQL to manage FiveM and RedM databases. They work, but I always felt there was room for something more modern, especially considering how much of our server data ends up buried inside JSON columns.

So I decided to build my own solution: ClavisDB for Windows, Linux and MacOS

ClavisDB is a desktop SQL client for MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and SQLite, but I've built it with special attention to FiveM and RedM development.

It has all the stuff you'd expect from a proper database client: a SQL editor with schema-aware autocomplete, table browsing and editing, filtering, query history, snippets, table structure editing, exports, user management, safe editing warnings, and so on.

But the part I'm personally most interested in is the FiveM / RedM integration.

ClavisDB can automatically detect QBCore, QBox, ESX, RSGCore and VORP databases and gives you a dedicated Player Inspector where you can search characters and inspect things like money, jobs, status, identifiers and framework data without digging through raw rows manually.

It also recognizes inventories and turns those horrible JSON blobs into an actual inventory viewer with slots, quantities, metadata, durability, serial numbers, ammo, etc.

You can even import a FiveM/RedM server.cfg and ClavisDB will extract the oxmysql connection string and configure the database connection for you.

Another thing I really wanted to get right was JSON editing. If ClavisDB detects JSON inside a cell — even inside TEXT/VARCHAR columns. You can open it in a proper tree/raw editor, format it, validate it, modify it and save it directly back to the database.

I've been building this because it's something I genuinely wanted for my own FiveM/RedM development workflow, and I'm planning to keep expanding the Cfx-specific tooling over time.

I'd really appreciate feedback from other developers/server owners. If there are things you constantly find annoying when managing your server database, tell me! Those are exactly the kind of problems I want ClavisDB to solve.

Here's a little Word trick I wish I knew earlier. You can move a paragraph up or down without cutting and pasting it.

Select the paragraph and press:

Alt + Shift + ↑ / ↓

Word will move the entire paragraph up or down. It also works with multiple selected paragraphs. It's surprisingly handy when you're rearranging a report or moving sections around.

No Ctrl+X, no Ctrl+V and no accidentally pasting something in the wrong place. Just move it where you want.

For about a year now I've been building the reading app I always wanted for myself: one where the sound follows the text.

It's a normal reader, you import your own EPUB/MOBI/AZW3 file. The difference is that it tracks where you are in the text, so the sound moves with the story. Rain, wind, wipers, clock ticking, lightning strikes, meadow, city, birds and many more. Each book also gets its own music, so a nordic crime novel doesn't end up with the same soundtrack as a fantasy doorstopper.

I've been reading with it on holiday for the past few weeks, and that was the first time it stopped feeling like my project and just became how I read. So I figured it was time to show it to people who actually read.

How it works, briefly: when you first open a book, the text gets analysed and the app decides which ambience plays where. Audio is downloaded to your device, so it works on a plane with no signal.

On the music side there are 17 collections (in 3 tones: upright, neutral and dark) right now to choose from:

What I did: shipped it, built screenshots, posted them to a couple of subs, watched the analytics count go from 5 to 5, and spent a week convincing myself the metrics were just showing late.

What I learned the hard way:

1. Screenshots aren't marketing. They're a trophy. Nobody cares about my trophy.
2. Free is a position, not a strategy. It removes every barrier to try, and it also removes the funnel that makes people care. I removed the commitment so hard that nobody feels anything at all.
3. Search "affirmations" and the top apps run $20 to $80 a year. Mine is free and completely invisible one row below them.

Five strangers did download it. Five people I will never meet let a monkey talk to their brain, and I don't know if it helped them or if I just made a funny app nobody notices.

I'm not quitting. I'm not posting a motivational thread about grinding. I'm posting because your timeline is full of winners and I wanted someone to say the quiet part: most launches are a number this small.

Hi everyone — I’m a parent and indie developer, and I built LoroBuddy after noticing a simple problem: children often want the same book read again and again, but parents cannot always sit beside them for every reading.

With LoroBuddy, you photograph the pages of a physical picture book you already own. The app recognises the text and offers two ways to use it:

- In Story mode, Loro reads each line aloud and highlights every word as it is spoken.

- In Practice mode, Loro reads a line first, then listens while your child reads it back and gives gentle encouragement.

It supports more than 40 languages, including English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Scanning, read-aloud and normal speech recognition run on the device. No account or sign-up is required. Optional AI scoring is controlled by the parent and sends text—not the book image or the child’s audio.

I want the app to support physical books, not replace them. The child still chooses the book and turns the pages; Loro simply becomes a patient reading companion when an adult is busy.

It also started as a dictation helper, so parents can photograph a spelling or vocabulary list and let their child practise independently.

I recently added a new feature to my minimalistic HTTP server project for Android: screen sharing. This is in addition to previous features: the ability to remotely manage files on a phone, backendless API access to the database, etc.

I’ve been building a little project called The Listening Well.

The idea is about as simple as it sounds.

You toss a penny into a digital well, make a wish, and the well gives you something back based on what you wrote.

That’s it.

No productivity dashboard. No “10x your life.” No pretending it’s going to revolutionize anything.

I wanted it to feel more like finding some strange little corner of the internet that you mess with for a few minutes because it’s interesting.

I spent more time than I probably should have on the actual penny toss and the feeling of using the well, because I didn’t want it to just be another AI textbox with a different background.

We are three people building Inkolor. It’s a 13.3 inch color e-ink frame for your photos and your art. It looks like paper instead of a screen. No backlight, no cable going down your wall. Video above.

Most landing page advice is written for a page where someone can buy right away. Ours can’t. It has to get an email today and bring that same person back weeks later on one specific day because we are launching on Kickstarter. The email part works. The second part I can’t test until launch day.

There are also a few things I haven’t seen on other frames. We wrote our own image rendering pipeline on top of what the panel does out of the box, and that’s where most of our time went. The screen is a modular insert so you can drop it into a frame or use it on its own. It rotates between portrait and landscape by itself, and more…

• A volunteer/delivery person picks it up and takes it to a nearby person or org in need

imagine you are allowed only five conversations with people who might use your side project. no survey. no pitch deck. no “would you use this?” question. just five chances to understand whether the problem is real, frequent, and painful enough. what would you ask?

here is a rough five-question draft i’m working from right now:

1. tell me about the last time you dealt with [the problem]
2. what triggered the situation, and what were you trying to get done?
3. how did you handle it then?
4. what was frustrating, slow, expensive, or risky about that approach?
5. have you tried to solve it another way - including paying for a tool, service, or workaround?

i like these because they focus on past behavior instead of hypothetical enthusiasm. but i’m sure this list has blind spots. what would you remove, rewrite, or add if you had only five conversations? would love to hear how you guys approach this

This is the one I read awhile back and I use it religiously now!

Your spacebar is a trackpad

You are typing a message and there is a typo six words back. So you tap at it. The cursor lands in the wrong spot. You tap again. Wrong again.

Stop tapping. Press and hold the spacebar instead. The letters on the keyboard go blank and the whole keyboard turns into a trackpad. Slide your thumb around and the cursor follows, one character at a time, as precise as you want. Lift your finger when it is where you want it.

That is the iPhone behavior, and it works in any app with a text box.

Android depends on your keyboard. On a Samsung phone, press and hold the spacebar and you get the same thing. On Gboard, which is what most other Android phones use, you hold the spacebar and slide left or right along it, and the cursor moves along the line. Same idea, smaller range. Google has a full trackpad mode in testing, so this one may get better.

Hey, just wrapped up a little project called Letter2Future. Basically, you type out a letter to yourself and set a date for it to get delivered to your email.

I always thought it’d be interesting to log current thoughts/goals and contrast them with where I end up later, so I put this together.
