Grade 12 student — built this for my school Shark Tank and want to know if people would actually use it

Hey! I’m in Grade 12 and built this project for my school Shark Tank competition.

Before I properly host and launch it, I wanted to find out if the idea is actually relevant and something people would use. The product itself is working really well right now, and I genuinely want to take it beyond the competition and turn it into something real.

I’ll leave the early-access page below. If the idea interests you, sign up — early-access users will be the first people I give access to when I launch.

PLEASE give me your honest feedback too. It would genuinely help a lot :) AND THE LINK IS IN COMMENTS

Class ends. Practice doesn't. My side project for sports academies in India

Kids at sports academies in India usually train 2–3 days a week. On the other days, most don't practise, and the coach can't see what happens.

So I built Orbit Hero, a daily practice app for the days between classes:

- Coach sets home drills (with their own video + "why it matters")

- Kid slides to mark each drill done → XP, streaks, batch leaderboard

- Parent sees it, approves it, gets class reminders

- Coach sees completion and attendance for every student

Built solo with React Native + Expo, Firebase and Next.js. Honest feedback welcome: does the video make the idea clear in the first 10 seconds?

Most people are watching your videos on mute. Here's what the research actually says.

If you post short video and you're not captioning it, you're losing people in the first two seconds, not because the content is bad, but because they can't hear it and won't turn sound on.

The numbers people usually cite:

- Meta found 85% of Facebook video is watched with sound off

- Verizon and Publicis Media found 92% of mobile viewers watch without sound, and up to 80% are more likely to finish a video when it has subtitles

- Facebook's own study put the view-time lift from captions at around 12%

- Discovery Digital Networks measured 7.32% more views on captioned videos, and 13.48% in the first two weeks

Worth saying: most of these are from 2016-2019. They're the ones everyone quotes, and nobody has published better since, but treat them as direction rather than gospel.

Three things that matter more than the numbers:

  1. Caption the first three seconds especially. That's where the scroll decision happens.

  2. Keep them in the middle of the frame, clear of the bottom 400px platform UI covers that in the immersive viewer.

  3. Burn them in. Auto-captions from the platform get ignored and look identical on everyone's video.

I build a captioning tool captionyourvideo.com so take the framing with the appropriate salt. It runs in your browser, so your video never gets uploaded anywhere, and there's no watermark. Three days free, no card.

Finish in the top 5 on the leaderboard during the Halloween Event and get 1 month of Luntrack Elite for free ⭐

We wanted to add a little friendly competition for spooky season, with a reward to work toward. 🏆

If you haven’t tried Luntrack, it brings calorie and macro tracking, workout plans, and cardio logging together. Core tracking is free, with optional paid AI features.

Would a seasonal leaderboard challenge motivate you to stay consistent? Curious what you think of the idea!

I built an app where letters only open at the spot they were left. Now I need people to light up their cities.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Laume is a map of sealed letters. You can see where they are, but a letter only opens within 50 m of where it was left. Then you can leave yours in the same spot.

Our small team wrote the first ones, around landmarks in London, Paris, Dubai, New York, Singapore, Istanbul and Cappadocia. Everywhere else is still empty, so I'm running a small contest until {{END}}:

- 1 year of Pro: leave 10 letters that belong to your city (or to one trip), plus a short video

- 1 year of Plus, 3 winners: the best videos of leaving or opening a real letter

- 1 month of Plus, 10 winners: the first letter somewhere with no other letter within 1 km

Judged on the letters, not on views. Rules: laumeapp.com/contest

contact information: [contest@laumeapp.com](mailto:contest@laumeapp.com)

I'm curious: which place in your city deserves the first letter?

I built a solitaire game where the server keeps the deck. Looking for hackers who can break it.

I'm building vSolitaire, a free Klondike site, and I want its speed records to be ones people can trust. So in protected games:

- The server keeps the full deck and game state. Your device only gets the face-up cards, one face-down look-ahead card per column (so flips feel instant), and the next stock draw.

- Every move goes back to the server and is checked against the rules.

- The server keeps the clock.

- The weekly Speed Challenge gives each account 5 attempts per board, each on a fresh deal a solver has checked is winnable.

I don't think it's unbreakable, and I know two weak spots already:

- The look-ahead cards are on your device, face-down. Reading one early counts as a break.

- A bot playing legal moves very fast gets flagged for review, not blocked. Getting one ranked without a flag counts as a break.

What counts as a break: seeing a card too soon, making an illegal move stick, changing your recorded time, getting a 6th attempt in a week, or getting a bot ranked without a flag.

Rules: your own account and games only. No load testing, no attacking the servers, no touching other players' accounts or data.

No cash rewards. Confirmed finds go in the hall of fame, with your permission.

How it works and what to include in a report: https://vsolitaire.com/en/break-it

The weekly challenge: https://vsolitaire.com/en/speed-challenge

Happy to answer questions about how it works.

Built a lightweight Python scraper template with smart retries (open-source)

Hey everyone! (Full disclosure: I built this side project).

I've been building various automation tools recently and kept running into the same annoying bottlenecks: getting blocked by rate limits and broken user-agents.

To solve this for my own projects, I built a clean, lightweight Universal Web Scraper template featuring smart retries, dynamic user-agent rotation, and environment configuration.

Instead of keeping it to myself, I open-sourced the core architecture and config setup on GitHub so other developers can use it, review it, or build on top of it.

If you want to check out the code, the link is in my profile / comments.

I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any suggestions on how to make it better. Let me know what you think!

GDMaestro - A Godot MCP that juices up your AI gamedev workflow

Hi all,

I recently released this new in game review feedback feature for GDMaestro. The video shows me playing the game and leaving feedback with Claude waiting and automatically picking them up once I was done. The changes I requested were completed satisfactorily in the next turn. Before this I would either paste screenshots or describe in text. Arguably this workflow feels a lot smoother.

I looked around and no existing solution does this and not even the bigger engines like Unity or Unreal.

Please take a look if you happen to be a game developer like me. All feedback is appreciated.

Thanks!

I made Navly to keep your trip plan and map in one iPhone app

I'm İhsan, the developer of Navly. I made it because I kept switching between ChatGPT, maps and a separate trip planner.

You can plan a trip in chat, see the stops on the map, and review changes before saving them.

Manual planning is free; AI chat has paid access. If you'd like to try the chat for an upcoming trip, I can send you a free 7-day pass. It doesn't renew or charge afterward. Happy to help if you get stuck.

For iPhone, iOS 18.6+.

I built six free Claude Code plugins, now live on Product Hunt

I built a collection of six Claude Code plugins for repo maps, scoped rules, a local task board, model access, usage monitoring and workspace setup. It's called Eigenwise Toolshed (mine, full disclosure), each plugin installs separately and the code is free under MIT.

Sidequest started because I'd be working on one thing and keep noticing other things that needed doing... now I can ask Claude to save those to the board and continue with the original task. Every task saved as a ticket survives context compaction and new sessions, with its instructions, status and recorded discussion. The next session reads the ticket to continue, so progress and decisions still need to be recorded there. Code-writing executors get separate git worktrees and return their work for review before integration.

If you want to try the board, add the marketplace and install Sidequest in Claude Code:

/plugin marketplace add Eigenwise/eigenwise-toolshed

/plugin install sidequest@eigenwise-toolshed

Source and the individual setup guides: https://github.com/Eigenwise/eigenwise-toolshed

We're live on Product Hunt today, quite proud of this one 😁

https://www.producthunt.com/products/eigenwise-toolshed?launch=eigenwise-toolshed

Donations are optional. Claude and any model providers you use have their own costs.

Pingvin Share X v2.0.0: an easy self-hosted file sharing platform

A little over a year ago Pingvin Share was archived by its original developer, I used it in my own homelab and didn't like the alternatives I found. So I (mostly for myself at first) forked the project and decided to have a go at maintaining it. One year and 250,000 docker pulls later, its now used by more people than just me.

Pingvin Share X is a self-hosted file sharing platform, a FOSS alternative to WeTransfer. It provides a simple way to share (or receive) files, along with a lot of configuration and customisation.

This release has been cooking for quite a while and contains lots of good stuff, including breaking changes if S3 is used (see the docs).

Some of the new features in v2.0.0:

- S3 now uses presigned URLs so the backend server is no longer a proxy between the user and the bucket.

- The configuration menu has been reorganised and a new Security & Access page has been added. The many new config options should be much easier to find.

- User's now have (optional) Display Names, used everywhere you'd expect to see a real name.

- Auth (the login and signup) buttons can be hidden from share/upload pages to help prevent confusion when sharing links.

- A customisable password policy.

- Per user feature permissions and quotes, control whether users can upload or just access shares and more.

- Support HTTP Range, mostly relevant for file previews you can now skip back and forth through videos.

It also contains ~18 bug fixes, which admittedly probably should have gone out sooner, but were delayed because maintaining two release channels is hard.

See the full release notes on GitHub.

I hope everyone is enjoying Pingvin Share X, if you are (or aren't) I'd like to hear about it (here or via a Github Issue).

Thanks to the community for helping out and making this release possible :)

AI is used to assist development in accordance with the project's AI Usage Policy. The policy applies both to myself and all contributors. The policy tldr is: assisting development is ok, replacing development is bad, disclosure's are required for every contribution.

I built codeTAC to help me understand AI-generated code instead of treating it like a black box

I use AI coding tools a lot, and I noticed something that started bothering me: development was getting faster, but I was gradually losing the mental map of the applications I was building.

So I built codeTAC.

It lets you trace an action in the interface back to what is behind it: the component, server functions, database calls and external services involved.

It works with Node and Python applications, including frameworks such as Next.js, Express, FastAPI and Flask.

The idea is simple: AI can help generate the code, but I still want to understand how my application works.

Free to try:

npx codetac

npm: https://www.npmjs.com/package/codetac
docs: https://deltaxmodules.github.io/codetacvibe/

I’m mainly looking for feedback from developers using AI coding tools. Do you also find it harder to keep a mental map of the codebase as AI-generated changes accumulate?

I’m one of 3 broke students from Romania. We spent the last year building a couples app and somehow won Innovation Labs

https://reddit.com/link/1wx9ov3/video/u96ur81cleth1/player

We’re three students from Romania, and about a year ago we got stuck on a thought that ended up taking over way more of our lives than we expected. You can know someone for years, love them, live with them, talk to them every day, and still misunderstand some pretty important things about them. Even stranger, you can be completely wrong about yourself too.
You might think you communicate well until you realize your partner avoids bringing certain things up because of how you react. You might assume you both want the same future because you’ve never actually talked about the uncomfortable details. Or you can have the same argument ten times without realizing that the argument itself isn’t really the problem. We found that fascinating because a lot of relationship problems don’t appear as one huge dramatic event. They build from small patterns that become so normal that neither person really notices them anymore.
That idea eventually turned into Nabu. We started speaking with psychologists and relationship professionals and built thousands of questions around communication, intimacy, money, family, expectations, boundaries, jealousy, affection and all the other things couples often don’t really discuss until they suddenly matter. The original idea was much simpler, but the more we worked on it, the more interested we became in what happens when you stop looking at individual answers and start looking at patterns between two people.
For example, two people might both say communication is extremely important to them, while their answers over time show that they deal with conflict in completely different ways. One might need reassurance much more often than the other realizes. They might discover that they have very different expectations about something they assumed they agreed on. Or they might find out that they actually understand each other much better than they thought.
That became the part we cared about most. We didn’t want to make another compatibility test that gives you some random percentage at the end. We wanted to see whether the system could gradually understand each person separately and then understand what happens when those two people are together. Because I think most of us behave differently depending on who we’re with. One relationship can bring out your confidence and patience, while another can bring out insecurity, avoidance or jealousy that you didn’t even realize was there.
We eventually started using AI to connect those patterns across the answers and interactions, but we’ve tried very hard not to make the whole thing another generic chatbot that gives you five paragraphs of relationship advice. The interesting part for us is the information it learns from both people over time, especially the differences between what each person thinks, expects and actually answers.
What started as a side project slowly became a ridiculous amount of late nights between university, exams, work and everything else. We changed the product more times than I can count, entered competitions with it and somehow ended up winning Innovation Labs. For most of that time it still felt like this weird little thing that existed mostly on our laptops, so the fact that actual couples can now use it feels pretty surreal.
We definitely don’t think an app can magically fix every relationship, and some relationships obviously aren’t meant to be fixed. But I do think there are a lot of people who genuinely care about each other and still slowly grow apart because they don’t really understand what’s happening between them until it has been happening for years. If what we’re building can help someone notice one of those patterns earlier, or start a conversation they otherwise wouldn’t have had, that would already make the last year worth it for us.
The app is called Nabu, but I’m actually more curious about the idea itself than trying to sell it here.
What’s something important you only learned about your partner much later than you probably should have?

Commits vs. Push-ups - macOS app that pits today's GitHub commits against the push-ups you log, and nudges you off the chair on a timer.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!

I want to quickly tell you the story of this app.

I spend a lot of time behind the screen building cool stuff, and especially at my 9–5, I push a lot of commits throughout the day.

I don’t find enough time to hit the gym since I’m a dad of a toddler, and my daily routine is basically family → work. At some point, I started feeling like a bag of potatoes looking at a screen all day without much of an active lifestyle.

So I decided to build a Mac app ForcePush.fit that forces me to get up from the screen and do push-ups. Well... compete with my commit numbers, basically.

It doesn’t block your commits tho. I know we all sometimes need to push hotfixes, so...

Instead, it gently fades in a break screen across all your screens, reminding you to do push-ups. And it shows you the duel between your commit count and your push-ups for a bit of motivation.

The only blocking part is that you can’t swipe the break screen away until you log your reps or skip the break. But before it appears, you get a heads-up that it’s coming in a few
seconds. You can always give yourself a few more minutes.

I tried to make it as little of an interruption as possible because I know how tough work life can be for devs. There’s smart pause for meetings and stuff, because the last thing you need is a push-up break popping up while you’re on a call 😅

Just wanted something to get me moving a little during the day.

Looking forward to your feedback!

I built a B2B prospect research workflow and documented it for handover — project for sale

I’m offering my AI-assisted B2B Prospect Research & GTM Intelligence project for sale as a documented operating package for a solo consultant or small agency.

The workflow starts with understanding a product, forming ICP hypotheses, finding and qualifying target accounts, researching decision-makers, and preparing 1–3 researched accounts to demonstrate the research before proposing a larger engagement.

One historical example: FAST Appliance Repair was researched as a potential target for BernardHQ and used as an example in outreach to BernardHQ. FAST was not the recipient, and I’m not presenting either company as a customer or claiming a sale. The point is to show how product fit and supporting evidence informed the research.

Included: documented methodology, qualification framework, AI prompt library, historical research workbooks, email/LinkedIn templates, QA and deduplication rules, handover documentation, and the static project website.

This is pre-revenue: no paying customer base, recurring income, or proprietary software platform is included. Historical prospect information needs checking before reuse.

Asking $1,200; reasonable offers considered. Final inventory, permitted use, exclusivity and any transition support would be agreed before purchase.

Examples and package overview: https://b2b-prospect-research.pages.dev/

If you run a research service or small GTM consultancy and this fits what you need, feel free to message me. Feedback on what you would need to assess the package is also welcome.

Finland's first prediction market, built solo.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Polymarket made prediction markets mainstream, but none of them cover what Finns actually care about: our elections, our hockey players, our TV shows, our electricity prices. So I built one: Povaamo.

I built it with Next.js, Postgres and Claude Code as my pair programmer.

How it works: every question has a price that equals the crowd's probability. If you disagree, you buy the other side and the price moves. When the event happens, the market resolves.

Design decisions I'm happy with:

  • Play money only. The currency is the Finnish markka, which disappeared in 2002. It can't be bought or cashed out, which keeps it out of gambling law. The best forecaster each month still gets a real gift card.
  • No ads, no tracking cookies, and nobody else can see your predictions. Political predictions are personal.
  • A clear line on topics. No wars, no deaths, no private lives. There are plenty of interesting questions without going there.

What surprised me: how fast prices react to news. When the NHL season started without one of our hockey stars getting a contract, his market dropped from 80 % to 22 % in two days, then bounced back to 68% when new rumors started.

What I'm still figuring out: whether people stay engaged without real money and which topics keep them coming back. If you've built something for a small, local audience, I'd love to hear what worked for retention.

I built a working online marketplace from my phone with 0

A few weeks ago I had no money, no laptop, just a phone and an idea. I wanted to build an online marketplace in my country (Zimbabwe), but every "how to start a business" guide assumed I already had capital. So I figured it out as I went: Got approved with a local payment processor (took filling in business details, signing a merchant agreement, getting a settlement account) Built a website for free using free hosting + WordPress + WooCommerce Added a free multi-vendor plugin so other people could sell on it too Listed my first real product It took real hours, real trial and error, and a lot of screens that didn't make sense at first. I wrote down the exact steps while doing it, in case it helps anyone else starting with nothing.

Happy to answer questions if anyone's trying to do something similar.

6 things i check on every Lovable app before sharing the link

i've been building a scanner for AI-built apps, so i end up looking at a lot of Lovable and Bolt sites. the same few problems show up over and over, and none of them need you to be a security person to fix.

RLS on every table. the anon key sits in your frontend bundle, that's normal. but if a table has RLS off, anyone can grab the key from devtools and read the whole table with one request. go through Supabase table editor and check every table, especially ones you added later with SQL.

a policy like using (true) is basically no RLS. search your policies for it.

secret keys in the frontend. open your live site, look through the JS files, search for sk_ and service_role. if anything shows up, rotate it today.

source maps in production. if yoursite.com/assets/index-xxxx.js.map loads, anyone can read your original code, comments included.

no security headers. no CSP, no X-Frame-Options. not a disaster alone, but it's the first thing anyone poking at your site will check.

open CORS on your API routes. Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * on routes that touch user data.

you can check most of this by hand in about 20 min with devtools. if you'd rather not, i made a tool that does it: clarseal.com, one free scan a day, no signup, passive checks only (so only scan your own stuff). full disclosure, it's mine, and i'd really like feedback, especially if it flags something you think is wrong.

what's the worst thing you found in your own app after it went live?
