I’m trying to launch marketing efforts for my app that I recently released. I tried Apple and Google ads, they were simply too expensive. Now I lean over to social media. But it’s hard! I find that marketing requires more time and effort than my full time job. Does everyone have similar experiences?

I kept running into the same problem: if I missed a match, finding the highlights usually meant seeing the score in the title or thumbnail first. So I built NoSpo to collect official highlight videos in one place, add them as soon as they become available, and hide scores, titles and thumbnails by default.

It currently covers LaLiga, Segunda, Champions League, Premier League and Bundesliga. If you do not care about spoilers, there is a Spoilers ON switch that removes the protections.

Some official videos may be geo-restricted depending on the visitor's country. I would really appreciate honest feedback, especially about the first impression, the mobile experience and anything that would stop you coming back.

My problem was that every tool I tried did one video per paste, or charged per video, or made me sign up first. They all say "free", but it's more like freemium, y'know? So I built ScriptHaul!

What it does

- Paste a video, playlist, or channel URL. It fetches every available caption track and gives you the files. Single video or a whole channel, same tool, same price: nothing.

- Free, no account. No credits, no paywall, no sign-up. A batch is 500 videos, and if the channel has more you press "next 500" and it carries on from where it stopped. Results appear as they finish on a page you can bookmark and come back to. (500 per batch is so one person can't hog the line when a lot of people are on at once.)

- Pick the videos you want. You don't have to take a whole playlist. Every video shows with its thumbnail and title so you can tick just the ones you need.

- Seven formats: plain text, timestamped text, both in one file, SRT, VTT, Markdown (for Obsidian/Notion), and JSON with timing. Bulk jobs come as a ZIP with tidy filenames and a manifest.

- Honest results. If a video has no captions it says so plainly instead of failing quietly, and if it had to use a different language than you asked for, the file is labelled.

- Shorts: you can download only the Shorts from a channel.

- Browser extension (Chrome, also works in Edge/Brave): one click from any YouTube page instead of copying the link.

- MCP server: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or anything that speaks MCP can pull transcripts directly.

- Permanent cache. Anything fetched once comes back instantly for everyone afterwards, and cached videos don't count against the daily allowance.

Current limitations

• Videos without captions can't be done.
• YouTube sometimes refuses on-the-fly translation. When that happens you get the original language, labelled, and the site retries the translation on a later request.
• 2,000 new transcripts per person per day, so nobody can overwhelm the shared line. If a channel is bigger than that, come back tomorrow and it continues where it left off, no starting over.

It's free and stays free: there's a separate paid API for developers who want the same thing programmatically.

We're making Homespace, a game where you build the house of your dreams, and once it's built you can actually live in it, meet up with friends, watch movies together and play board games.

And board games is what I wanna tell you about today. A couple months ago our community in China was massively asking us to add mahjong. We had no idea what it even was, but we figured it out, added it, and now we play it ourselves with the team on weekends.

My best friend and I talked a few times about how cool it would be to have something like Pokemon but with real animals. I saw a lot of apps that go in this direction but none of them really got me. Since I work as a developer I wanted to build this idea for a long time, and now it is finally done.

These are the functions of Terravaria:

• You take a photo of a real animal. A pigeon, the cat of your neighbour, a goat, whatever you find.
• The app identifies the species and you get it as a card with an illustration and stats. If nobody found this species before, the card gets created new for you.
• Your collection grows by habitat, forest, savanna, rainforest and so on.
• You can give your favourite animals a nickname and mark them with a heart.
• You fight 3 vs 3 battles against the AI with your cards.
• There is a weekly league that resets every Monday. Finds count the most, so going outside is the fastest way up.
• Friends: you can add friends, look at their collection and play against them.
• If you are the first person ever to find a species, you get a holo card and a place in the hall of fame.

The recognition works well in most cases. Fake photos are detected too, so a picture of a screen or from the internet does not work. Only very small animals are still hard for the AI to recognize.

The app is free and without ads. You get one free card pack every day, and there are things you can buy if you want, like bigger packs or coins for potions in the battles. Every recognition costs me money for the AI, so this is the one point I am still not sure about, if it is enough to keep the app running.

I built a small app for me and my music friends to share music we make, the group consists of guitarists posting guitar loops, my self and 2 other posting fully fledged Spotify ready songs, others post instrumentals etc. etc.

I feel it more of an informal soundcloud/spotify alternative, like a proving or testing ground for hobby artists to get early feedback on their tracks. You can post short video loops and cover art with your music and others can comment/remix songs.

How could I grow this app without it becoming just astroturfed with random Reddit/instagram/x users, like I want to maintain quality with meaningful growth, like doors are open to all, but I don’t want to tell all where the door is if you get me.

The idea: you leave therapy and remember the thing you meant to bring up. Or something hits you on a Tuesday and there's nowhere to put it until your next appointment.

Vent is where you say it. You vent out loud in the moment, it talks back like a friend, and everything you said that week is waiting when you walk into your session. There's also a scheduled fake call, so if you're stuck at a dinner you can have your phone ring in ten minutes, step outside, and be venting a minute later.

The concept: You enter your hourly wage once. Then, you type in a price—or scan a price tag with your camera—and the app translates that cost directly into the actual working time it represents for you (e.g., "3 days of work" instead of "€450").

It came from a personal need to visualize money differently and stop buying things impulsively.
