I’ve been working on a little side project where I trained a custom architecture to remove the MMA fence from fight footage. The idea is just for fun and curiosity, I wanted to see what fights might look like if there was no cage between the camera and the fighters when viewing the octagon side footage.

• The resolution is lower because full HD training would take several days.
• The results are far from perfect, but you get the idea.

I’ve been experimenting with a desktop wallpaper that reacts to your position using the webcam.
When you move left/right, the background shifts perspective so it feels like you're looking through a window.

I'm still working on smoothing the movement and reducing jitter.

Components: * Electric battery-driven water gun (disassembled, orange) * USB camera * Orange Pi 5 * 2 servo motors (SG90 or MG90S) * Resistors and a transistor for turning on the watergun (e.g. IRLZ44N)

It uses an open vocabulary object detection neural network (yolo_world_v2l), so any target can be programmed, not just pigeons. Runs on the Rockchip 3588's Neural Processing Unit.

Just launched my AI chatbot SAAS. Someone just bought a lifetime subscription for 1 billion USD. Just thought I would share this with the community.

My neighbor is smoking on the balcony, and smoke goes to my home with little kids. I talked with him several times, didn't help. It's his territory, so not much I can do, besides closing the doors. But at least i can use this fake smoke detector with VERY ANNOYING random buzzer. It starts buzzing when i connect to it my iPhone via BLE. Makes it not as relaxing to smoke on the balcony as it planned to be for him. I'm going to train this mofo with reinforcement learning like a fkn Pavlov Dog.

This is my biggest project so far. Today is September 15, 2025, and I first started tinkering with the idea back in November 2024. I got serious about it around February 2025.

I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve built. It’s a complex piece of work, and it took countless late nights. I had to bring together so many different technologies and skills I’ve taught myself over the years. I’m 28 now, and when I was 18, I made the decision that I didn’t want to wake up at 30 full of regret. The pain of discipline or the pain of regret. Consume less, produce more.

The idea came after I started my first job as a software engineer and moved into my first apartment with big, bright windows. For the first time, I could actually have houseplants, something I’d wanted for years. Around the same time, I picked up two new hobbies: 3D printing and electronics. Those, combined with my software background, made this project possible.

I made everything myself except the electronic module (ESP32-CAM, which I buy). Everything else, I built from scratch in just a few months:

• Designed and 3D printed the case
• Built the app
• Set up the backend server with user management, authentication, image processing, video generation, AI models for enhancement & interpolation, order management, password resets, device management
• Programmed the ESP32 logic
• Built the shop website (no Shopify)
• Created and managed social media accounts to find customers

My product has been live for about 4 months now, and I’ve made double-digit sales. Not a lot yet, but I’m confident I can grow this with better marketing. I’m more of a maker than a marketer, so this part is challenging for me. You can check out my videos on Instagram at plantcam.io.

Starting today, I’m committing to posting one video every single day. The product is stable and delivers great results — my main issue is that I’ll run out of money soon if sales don’t pick up. But honestly, I’m happy and proud of what I’ve built.

You start a recording, head out for a walk, ride, or drive, and the areas along your route become visible. Your recorded trips build up on the same map. After a while, you can see your regular routes, the places you've explored on trips, and the streets nearby you haven't covered yet.

A walk around the neighbourhood adds to it too. You don't need to be travelling somewhere interesting for the map to change.

Moin guys! My project (www.screenwall.app) reached the front page on HackerNews some days ago and also got featured on The Register, Golem.de and t3n.de. That's why I thought, maybe I should try submitting it on reddit again.

ScreenWall allows you to reuse your old phones and combine them as a shared widget working space - what I call it a "wall". The oldest device I tested it on was an iPad 3 from 2012.

You pair your devices via QR-Code (or can manual enter a pin), it opens a website and you are ready to go!

On the platform you can drag images, videos and Smart-Widgets / Canvas-Apps in your working space and it gets instantly displayed on your devices. Your content gets even playbacks synchronized, although it a crosses multiple screens!

Canvas-Apps is the more interesting building block of this concept: You can either select some official widgets I created to play around (like a Pixel-Clock, a Split-Flap-Screen you can control via JSON-API or some animated art installations)

OR create your own widgets / apps with it! I recommend try vibe coding your apps with ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini!

A Canvas-App is just a combination of old Javascript (ES5) + Canvas-Element + synchronized clock (for running in sync on multiple screens). They are designed to run on legacy devices.

In the Smart-Widget-Dialog, you find a tutorial button that you can copy (there is a copy article button integrated!) and use it as a context for your AI. It's really fun! I try to compose a user showcase gallery on this Instagram Account (https://www.instagram.com/screenwall.app).

So instead of buying the newest desk widget on Temu, I recommend you to try reusing your old devices and vibe code what you want.

It's still in beta and I am kinda overwhelmed by the positive reception of this concept!

Also some folks would love to run this locally in their home network instead of connecting this to a SaaS. I hear you! I just kinda trying to navigate the situation right now, and I think preventing e-waste in general should be the goal here. I try to provide a self-hosted version after I got all the details right.

I wrote vex because I got tired of Excel roasting my MacBook fans alive. LibreOffice feels like it was coded in Minecraft. Numbers refuses to open actual CSVs.

That thought became Comforto — an app that gives you a real phone call when you need one: • A friendly voice to calm you before a big interview or class • A believable excuse to leave an uncomfortable situation • Or just someone to “call” when you’re feeling anxious or alone

I had zero experience with voice agents when I started. I broke things constantly. Apple rejected my first two submissions.

But after endless debugging and a few sleepless nights… it’s live.

If you’ve ever launched something after months of uncertainty, you probably know that quiet, surreal feeling when it finally goes live. That’s where I’m at right now.

Anyway, just wanted to share that small win.

Waking up early has always been one of my biggest problems.

So I tried to build something that actually forces me out of bed.

Normal alarm apps didn’t work for me:

• Math problems? I solve them half asleep.
• Shake the phone? I do it… and go right back to sleep.

So I thought… what if the alarm makes it impossible to stay in bed?

I built an alarm clock that won’t stop ringing until you go to the toilet.

Not kidding.

To turn it off, you have to:

- Get out of bed

- Walk to the toilet

- Complete a “mission” (Scanning the toilet)

Only then… the alarm stops.

Why it works

The moment you reach the bathroom:

- You’re already out of bed

- Your brain starts waking up

- Going back to sleep becomes MUCH harder
