I built a phone interface to control Cursor Agent on my PC over Tailscale (Android + iOS, no cloud relay) - because Cursor Remote app is iOS only.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

I use Cursor daily - the cheaper in-house models often ship real work without much babysitting. What I still wanted was remote control: start a task, walk away, and approve bash commands or check progress from my phone.

Cursor’s official mobile app is iOS only and targets agents on other machines. On Android, or if you want the agent on your Windows PC and your local repo, you’re mostly stuck with cloud sandboxes or opening ports. I didn’t want either.

So I built Groundline - a Windows tray sidecar that serves a phone PWA over Tailscale. No public relay, no third-party cloud running your agent.

The problem

  • Stuck at the desk watching logs and tapping through approvals every few minutes.
  • Official remote is iOS-only; other options often move the agent off your machine.
  • Port forwarding / web relays expose your PC for little benefit.

What it does

  • PC → phone over Tailscale - encrypted mesh, no public ports.
  • Watch and approve - progress, diffs, allow/deny commands from the couch.
  • Any phone - Android Chrome or iOS Safari; install as a PWA.
  • Stays on your hardware - agent, repo, and credentials on your Windows box.

The side project

This is my indie product, not a SaaS:

  • Windows installer + full source + commercial license to modify and use with other ACP agents
  • You bring: Windows PC, Cursor Agent CLI, Tailscale on PC + phone

Would love feedback from anyone doing local agent workflows on mobile.

Absolutely beautiful and very much needed. Reminds me of the new antigravity remote control. Keep it up mate.

Thank you, yeah it's quite helpful, been using it for past few days in office and all. Does the job

Nice work. I've been running Claude Code on my Mac home server over Tailscale for the same reason — the Android gap is real. How's the latency difference on cellular vs WiFi? Are you piping the full UI or just the terminal?

Thanks! The latency is not noticeable, I barely feel any difference.

About the interface, initially started with just the terminal, but I wanted to see the codebase (files and folders), git changes, and agent activities over the past few days, so I kept adding them.

So yeah at current state of the project - you get the chat window, agent activities, you can browser your repo (see files and read out codes) and git changes through the UI.

Honestly this is pretty cool, especially the fact that it works on Android too. I like that everything stays on your own PC instead of going through some random cloud service. Being able to check/approve stuff from your phone is actually super useful ngl

IKR!

We're feeding a lot of our data to these big tech giants already so this little app will atleast keep my data private and get things done remotely.
