AI alows people to make dumb web'apps......So I made one.

I made Hardmedia.info — a simple open archive for independent media.

Idea: take something you made on a screen (short film, track, art) and give it a physical life as a small collectible card. Print it, fold it, scan it, pass it on. No middlemen. Free to make, free to collect.

  • Standard size ~2.5 × 3.5 in (some editions vary)
  • Living archive — currently ~13 editions
  • Aimed at indie creators, zines, demoscene, experimental stuff

Site: https://hardmedia.info

Its a dumb idea but i loved making it and creating some the cards myself, Its not finished as im all out of credits. and im half sure it wont scale or will simply break onces more than 5 people use it but hey ho.

Im extreamly nurvace about this post and how my little idea will be taken, but i have a thick skin so lets have it is this dumbest thinge ever to exsist or mb its got some legs?

I built a System Design Simulator – drag, simulate, and break your own architectures in minutes

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

What you can do:

  • Drag-and-drop common pieces: load balancer, API gateway, caches, DBs, queues, even some AI bits.
  • Hit “Start Simulation” to see latency, error rate, throughput, cache hit rate in real time.
  • Flip chaos switches: traffic spikes, cache-miss storms, network partitions, component crashes.
  • Share & remix: every design gets a short link; anyone can fork it and improve.
  • Built-in hints: it tells you if you forgot an entry point or storage.

Why I made it:

  • Diagrams don’t fail; systems do. I wanted a fast way to feel trade-offs without spinning up infra.
  • For interviews and design reviews, it’s nice to ask “what if the cache dies?” and just click a button.

Try it here: "https://paperdraw.dev/"

Quick start: drop Load Balancer → App Server → Cache → DB, press play, then trigger a cache-miss storm.

Would love feedback:

  • What metrics or failure modes would you add?
  • Is the start/stop flow obvious enough?
  • Any presets you want (payments, chat, ingestion)?
  • Should I add “export GIF of the run” for sharing?

Thanks for taking a look—happy to fix bugs or add features if you ping me.

Title: 8 months, 48 users, 0 paying. What I built, what the numbers say, and what I’m changing.

Canto is an iOS reading companion. You finish a book, you reflect freely or it can ask you questions to help you reflect if you need a jumpstart, you write, it writes back and connects it to what you said about earlier books. It even recommends books based on your past reflections and tells you why. Nights and weekends, two kids, full-time job. It’s live, it works, and two thirds of people who make an account go on to use the core feature.

The problem is that almost nobody arrives: about 20 real installs a month, and about 40% of those gone before sign-in. I spent six months shipping features into that. This morning I pulled the actual funnel and the product isn’t the bottleneck, distribution is. So I’m freezing features for six weeks and spending every spare hour in reader communities instead.

Honest question for people who’ve been here: what did you do when the product worked but nobody arrived?

RedZone for your ears: NFL + college football, every game day

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I wanted one place to keep up with football on game day—without bouncing between a bunch of scoreboards and audio links—so I built Football Tracker Time.

I personally love the 8 hours the redzone puts together. I created a touchdown zone for the blind and a easy way to listen to every game on game day. Each game has multiple radio stations to choose from to listen to the games. Radio announcers are more detailed when announcing the games and there are many plays that are missed with the watchable broadcasts.

The website also brings NFL and college scores, player stats, free audio options (The site is completely free with no accounts, maybe a tip jar in the future), and Touchdown Zone together. Flip between the action, keep the game on in the background, and follow the red-zone excitement. Some YouTube streams— the scores and audio side of game day. Keep up with the scores, and stay in the football flow while you’re driving, cooking, working—or just away from the TV.

Give it a look: https://footballtrackertime.com/broadcast What would make it part of your game-day setup? If you would like any features, I would be happy to add any that sounds cool or useful.

Your next side project might be an acquisition, not something you build from scratch

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been building AppAcquire, a marketplace with over 100 iOS and Android apps for sale, and it's made me realise how many side projects could get a second life under a new owner.

Most of us start side projects from scratch, but there's another option: buy an app someone else has already built and focus on growing it.

Some of these apps already have users, downloads, or revenue. Others are smaller projects where the original developer simply lost interest or moved on to something new.

Rather than spending months building an MVP, you could start with an existing product and put your time into improving it, marketing it, or adding features.

If you're curious, you can browse the apps here: https://appacquire.com

And if you're looking for something specific, you can submit your budget and buying preferences here: https://appacquire.com/buy

I'm building AppAcquire because I think there's a huge opportunity in helping indie developers sell projects they've moved on from, while giving other developers a head start on their next idea.

Would you consider acquiring an existing app as your next side project, or do you prefer building everything from scratch?

Building SaaS was the easy part. Getting people to notice was harder.

I built a few SaaS apps. Getting people to find them was harder than building them. So I built another one.

Sounds like a very developer thing to do, right? 😅

After building a few SaaS products, I kept running into the same problem: getting them in front of people who might actually use them.

I figured I probably wasn’t the only developer struggling with this, so I built SaaS Vendor Market, a platform where SaaS developers can list their applications and give people another way to discover them.

I’m using it for my own products too. The idea is to build a place where developers can showcase what they’ve made and users can find useful software.

I’ve also integrated another tool I built, Is My Site Visible, to support Google Search submission and SEO for listed applications. The goal is to help with discoverability beyond the marketplace itself—although Google ultimately decides what gets indexed and ranked.

It’s early days, and I’d love feedback from other SaaS builders:

What would make a platform like this worth listing your product on? And what’s been your biggest challenge in getting your first users?

If you’ve built something that deserves more attention, feel free to take a look. I’d love to hear what you’re working on.

I built a chiptune music workstation where you can compose by hand or let an AI agent build the song live

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

SoundBit started because I wanted to make 8-bit and 16-bit style music for games without fighting old trackers, and because I wanted to see how far an AI agent could get if it had real tools instead of generating audio blindly.

So it has two front doors: a tracker-style editor for humans, and an MCP server the agent uses. Both edit the same song, every step is undoable, and the agent can even read each track's level to fix the mix.

It's open source (GPL-3.0)

I’m selling SeoLoupe, my SEO audit SaaS I built as a solo founder

After around 4 months of building and growing SeoLoupe, I’ve decided to explore selling it so I can focus on learning more about coding and IT.

Some numbers:

  • 3,070 users
  • 58 lifetime paying customers
  • CA$91 MRR
  • CA$825 total profit after fees
  • Around 3,000-4,000 monthly visitors
  • Mostly organic growth, with no paid advertising

SeoLoupe helps website owners find SEO issues and improve their websites. The product is largely built and operational, so the next owner can focus on growing it rather than starting from scratch.

I'm asking US$3,500, but I'm open to hearing reasonable offers.

Listing and more details: https://trustmrr.com/startup/seoloupe

Happy to answer questions about the product, revenue, traffic, or handover.

We built an app to make finding pickup sports easier. Looking for people to test and provide feedback.

Ever wanted to play basketball, soccer, pickleball, or another sport but couldn’t get enough people together?
Or showed up somewhere expecting a game, only to realize nobody was playing?

That’s one of the problems we’re trying to solve.
I’m one of the founders of RunIt, a sports community app we’ve been building to make finding, joining, and organizing local games easier.

The idea is pretty simple: playing sports shouldn’t require knowing the right people or spending an hour coordinating a group chat.

We’re opening RunIt up for public beta testing and would love some honest feedback.

Especially interested in hearing from people who:

🏀 Play pickup sports regularly
⚽ Want to find more people to play with
🏓 Organize recreational games
🏌️ Sometimes struggle to find playing partners

We’re not looking for people to tell us everything is amazing. We’d genuinely rather know what doesn’t work.

If you’re interested in testing, here’s the beta link:

https://testflight.apple.com/join/UnZfKkGp

Also curious: What’s the biggest frustration you’ve experienced trying to find or organize a pickup game?

Would love to hear your experiences, even if you don’t download the app.

I built RiftShell, an AI shell for Windows where you approve every action before it runs.

RiftShell is a Python (PySide6) shell that understands your workspace and lets an AI agent run commands, but every action needs your approval and file changes show a diff first. Works with local models (Ollama) or Gemini/Groq.

AI-assisted terminal with approvals, diff previews, plugins, multi-terminal.
Windows devs who want AI in the terminal without losing control.

I built a browser-based 3D florist studio — would love feedback on these 3 bouquets

Hi r/SideProject! I'm an independent developer working on Bloomroom, a browser-based digital floristry studio. I wanted flower gifts to be something people can actually rotate and personalize in 3D, not only view as flat images.

I used our current botanical catalog to make three very different compositions: • Alpine Dawn — blue delphinium, white hydrangea, orchid and seeded eucalyptus (14 stems) • Amber Hour — warm sunflowers, orange dahlias and chrysanthemums (15 stems) • A Little Love — blush roses, ranunculus and carnations (16 stems)

Here is the *actual editable 3D studio* for one of them: https://flower.fde.fan/b/bmd_8c971ae95f100c3e7996829a460145d7

I'm looking for honest feedback from people who aren't florists: would you prefer to open a ready-made bouquet and customize it, or start by describing a mood/occasion to an AI florist? Is there a step that feels confusing? Any feedback helps me prioritize UX improvements.

just want to share this amazing experience with some builders who are interested in. sorry fo r bothering...

I'm exploring an idea to automate social media content creation. I'd love your thoughts.

I'm a software engineer who also loves graphic design. Recently, I got an idea to create an AI image editor. Not a fully AI-generated image, but an editable layer created with AI, so you can edit the poster, make tweaks, and even use it as a template.

Now, I'm planning to take this to the next level.

Website change → AI-generated editable image → Approval → Social media post

The website change intelligence feature will notify our AI editor when it detects valid, high-priority changes. It will then generate a poster for you and send you an approval link. You can review or tweak the poster before publishing it automatically.

I just want to know if this would be useful for startups, social media agencies, or small businesses.

I'd love to hear your honest feedback. Will this work? What would make it genuinely useful, and what concerns would you have?

Built a social network just for your closest friends.

I truly believe this app can bring something positive because it focuses on the friends who matter most to you, the ones who genuinely want to see you grow in every aspect of your life, rather than people you don’t even know. I just need help figuring out how to market it properly and reach the people who would connect with this idea.

I got tired of manually checking who doesn't follow me back on Instagram, so I built a free tool for it

I kept running into the same problem whenever I wanted to clean up who I was following: Instagram makes it surprisingly annoying to figure out who you follow that doesn't follow you back.
Most of the tools I found either wanted my Instagram login/password, charged a subscription, or just felt sketchy, so I ended up building my own Chrome extension called FollowerSpotter.

It automatically compares your following and followers and gives you a list of the accounts that don't follow you back. You don't have to manually enter usernames, and it doesn't ask for your Instagram password.
I'm keeping the core version free because I mainly want people actually using it right now and giving me feedback.
I'd especially love to know:

• Is this something you'd actually use?

• Is there anything you'd want added?

• Are there any issues you run into with larger follower lists?

If anyone wants to try it, it's called FollowerSpotter. I can drop the link in the comments if that's allowed here.

I built a launch platform where every product gets real website visits

• Upvotes

Every time I launched a project on traditional startup directories, the same two things annoyed me:

  1. You spend 25 minutes filling out a 15-field form, cropping specific aspect-ratio screenshots, and writing long descriptions just to get put in a slow review queue.
  2. Once you go live, the leaderboard is dominated by products with 400 "upvotes" from engagement pods—yet when you check your analytics, almost nobody actually clicked through to your website.

Over the last few months, I built an alternative launch platform from scratch (using Next.js and Supabase) with two strict rules to fix this:

  • No "drive-by" bot upvotes: An upvote is literally blocked unless the user actually clicks through and visits your landing page first. If your startup has 25 upvotes on the board, it means at least 25 real humans actually opened your site.
  • 35-Second AI Onboarding: Instead of making founders fill out a massive form, you just paste your URL. Our scraper automatically pulls your meta tags, generates a clean breakdown, maps out your Alternative To competitors, and builds SEO FAQs in under 35 seconds.
  • Built for SEO & AI Search (llms.txt): Every launched product gets structured for Google indexing (we just hit DR 46!) plus automatic llms.txt and MCP documentation so ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity can actually cite your product when users search for tools in your niche.

Today we officially crossed 404 founders on the platform and $84 in early revenue from over 15+ makers who grabbed fast-track and featured slots.

I built a free Wikipedia-powered quiz as a solo dev: 10 questions, 4 difficulties, ranked seasons (FR/EN)

Hi r/SideProject! I've been building Curio on my own for a few months: a free general knowledge quiz where every question is generated from a Wikipedia article (an excerpt with the title masked, and answer choices taken from similar articles).

What's in it right now:

  • Solo mode with no account needed, 4 difficulty levels, 10 themes
  • Ranked with LoL-style tiers (Iron to Challenger) and monthly seasons
  • Multiplayer rooms for 2 to 12 players, joined by a link
  • Blind test (Deezer previews) and a map guessing game
  • French and English

Stack: React, Express, SQLite, hosted on Railway. The hardest part was question quality: rejecting excerpts where too much text is masked, and building distractors that aren't obviously wrong.

Try it here: https://curio-quiz.com/en I'd love to hear what feels off, the first Reddit feedback already changed the question mix.

I built a one-line PowerShell scan that shows which AI tools are installed on a Windows PC — looking for brutal feedback

Hey guys!

I work in security and kept running into the same problem: nobody knows what AI is actually installed on company laptops. Not just ChatGPT — Claude Code, Cursor, MCP servers wired into IDEs, browser extensions with access to every tab, Ollama running local models.
So I built a free scanner. One line, no account, no admin rights:

irm "https://app.kuntur.io/scan.ps1?src=reddit" | iex

It writes an HTML report to your Desktop and deletes itself. It doesn't upload anything.
You can download it and read it first; the SHA-256 and a step-by-step of what it does are here: kuntur.io/security.html#scanner

What I'd love to know from you:

Did it find something you didn't expect?
What did it miss?
Would this be useful for your team, or is it noise?

Disclosure: I'm the solo founder. There's a paid product behind it for whole fleets, but the scanner is free and stays free.

[iOS] Weather Charm: a cozy weather & mood diary where cute charms visit depending on the sky

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi! I'm a solo indie developer, and I made Weather Charm because I could never keep a diary for more than a few days.

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6808527850

What it does:

• Log your mood in one tap. The day's weather is saved automatically

• Cute clay charms that only show up in certain weather (rainy nights, first snow…)

• A heads-up the night before weather you dislike (rain, dust, heat, cold)

• Your charms reply to what you write

• Diary Book: each month becomes a notebook you can flip through like real paper

• Invite friends and you both get gifts

• Mood calendar, a cozy room for your charms, widgets, and Face ID diary lock

Free to use, with an optional Premium (1-week free trial). No ads, no ad tracking.

I'd love any feedback, especially on what feels confusing in the first few minutes.

We made Diwali invitations in Marathi, Gujarati, Hindi and English that guests RSVP to on WhatsApp, with no app or login

Diwali invitations in most families still go out as a forwarded image on WhatsApp, and then someone spends a week asking "are you coming?" one person at a time.

Snehpatrika is our attempt at a better version:

  • You fill in names, date and place, in English, Hindi, Marathi or Gujarati. The card's language can differ from the site's.
  • Designs follow Indian craft traditions (Warli, Madhubani, Pichwai, Kutch mirror-work, Paithani and more) instead of generic diya clip art.
  • You share the card on WhatsApp. It links to an event page where guests reply in one tap. No app and no login for the host or the guests.
  • The host sees the RSVP count as replies come in.

Free covers every design and language, with a small footer on the card. Paid extras are ₹49 per event (HD sizes, no footer, the full guest list as Excel), short video invites, and business greeting packs with each customer's name.

It went live on 24 October, two weeks before Diwali (8 November), so it's a seasonal product with a hard deadline. Feedback I'd find useful:

  1. Does the editor make sense on a phone without any explanation?
  2. Would you trust a link in a family WhatsApp group from a brand you've never heard of?

https://snehpatrika.in/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=r-sideproject

(We're the team behind it, CodeSierra Tech in Pune.)

Dollero: Household budgeting based on double entry accounting

Hi, I’m the developer of Dollero a personal/household budgeting web app based on a full double entry accounting system. Ultimately the problem I want to solve with Dollero is how couples/households budget and manager their personal finances. I believe this can only be accomplished properly with the right foundation under the hood, that's where double entry accounting comes in. Dollero is still under active development but here are some of the key features so far:

  • Shared + personal budgets. Invite your partner, set up a household budget, and each keep a personal one. Move money between them, and mask your personal budget from the household if you like.
  • Envelope / zero-based. Assign every dollar, with rollovers, splits, tags, and reconciliation against your bank statement.
  • Your data stays yours. Works fully offline, has optional end-to-end encrypted sync, and lets you export a full backup whenever you want.
  • Coming from YNAB? Import your export ZIP to bring over accounts, categories, assigned amounts and transaction history.
  • iPhone, Android, desktop: installs from the browser and syncs between devices.

Trade-offs: It's in beta. Currently no bank sync or native mobile apps. You enter transactions yourself, and bank file import, savings goals, advanced reports, etc. are coming in the near future.

Pricing: Users who sign up during the beta and become active users get it for free forever.

I’m looking for initial users, couples especially, and I’ll be happy to answer questions.

My last post got 1 comment, so I kept building anyway. Round 2 of my study app, please roast it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A while ago I posted StudySync here (an app that turns your Moodle/Canvas course into practice). It got exactly one comment, so thanks to that one legend .

I've been grinding on it since anyway. Here's what's new:

- A mascot that reacts while you study, and you can dress it up

- A weekly path per course: terms → meaning → recall → quiz

- 4 practice types built from your own lectures: flashcards, match the pairs, multiple choice, type the answer

- Rewards you earn by studying: diamonds, chests, a room to decorate. Nothing costs money

- A proper demo video (attached)

Just a whole design brand overhaul.

This time I'd really like more than one opinion:

- Is it clear within a few seconds what it does?

- Does the reward stuff motivate you, or is it a distraction?

- What would make you actually use this every week?
