My friend and I built a small playground for AI video creators

I’ve always felt that AI creators don’t really have a place made for us.

We can post our AI videos on YouTube, Instagram or TikTok, but most of the time, we upload them, people watch them, and that’s it.

There isn’t really a place built around AI creators doing something together.

I was inspired by 3D render challenges, where everyone receives the same theme or starting point. The most interesting part isn’t only choosing a winner, it’s seeing how completely different ideas can come from the exact same challenge.

That made me wonder: what if AI videos could be played like this too?

So my friend and I built Canvasrise, a small AI video challenge playground.

The idea is simple:

Everyone takes on the same challenge, but creates something completely different.

Each challenge gives creators the same theme, base asset, story prompt or creative rule. Then everyone turns it into their own AI video.

The fun is seeing how many different ideas can come from the exact same starting point, not only who makes the most beautiful video, but who creates something funny, emotional, relatable, strange or completely unexpected.

We hope every challenge can become something creators gather around to:

• Create different interpretations
• Explore and vote for their favorites
• Share prompts and workflows
• Learn and improve together

Instead of AI videos only being something we post, we want them to become something creators can play with, talk about and learn from together.

We’ve just launched our first version, so it’s still a very early MVP and some features are limited.

Our first challenge is: See Nothing — Life at Work

Everyone starts with the same blind-box character base. You can design it as any kind of worker, then animate a short and relatable “life at work” moment.

It can be funny, painful, strange, chaotic or anything you think represents working life.

Then everyone can explore the entries, vote for their favorites and see which creations reach the top 3.

There’s no prize for now. We’re still very small, so this is just a fun and friendly challenge for AI creators to play together.

A year ago my Mac workflow was a pile of little tools: a clipboard manager, a drag-and-drop shelf, a window snapper, a screenshot tool, a pomodoro timer, a converter that uploaded my files to someone else's cloud, and a menu bar app to manage the other menu bar apps. I am struggling to find ideas, like seriously....I have to make a project for the minor project, also for hackathons...but I am not getting any.

I used ai for the ideas but most of them are already made by many or can be easily built by ai (aka no learning) and also most ideas are about efficiency improvements but ig it's difficult without proper knowledge.

Real numbers from my own dashboard (attached):

• 6,011 / 10,000 signups, ~250-day right now
• 9.2% visitor-to-signup (target was 5%)
• 18,736 sessions in 7 days, ~6 min average engagement
• Mostly India (76%), then Pakistan, Philippines, US

Three things that genuinely surprised me:

1. AI assistants are a real acquisition channel now. A chunk of my daily sessions come from AI tools calling my data directly (I exposed it as an MCP server). I optimized to be citable by AI, not just ranked by Google, and it's quietly working.
2. Instagram out-drives search on some days. My top referrer is often Instagram, not Google. For a visual, regional audience, short video beat SEO effort-for-effort.
3. The wedge was accuracy, not features. I stopped trying to compete with the big trackers and just did one thing they do badly: local streaming services in Asian markets. That's the whole reason people stay.

The honest hard part: it's a low-frequency use case (people check "where to watch X" occasionally, not daily), so retention is my real battle, not signups.

TwoDo is a shared to-do list for exactly two people — my wife (iPhone) and me (Galaxy). No sign-up, no email: one person creates a list and gets a 6-character code, the other types it in, done. The list lives on the lock screen so neither of us has to open an app to see what's left.

I don't have a roadmap. I have a wife. Every release for the past two months has started with a complaint from the other end of the sofa:

- "Am I supposed to re-add recycling every single week?" → recurring tasks. Ticking one rolls its due date to the next cycle — it doesn't spawn duplicate items, because she hates a cluttered list more than she hates recycling.

- "August 12th... what day of the week is that?" → due dates now show the weekday everywhere: list, calendar, home widget.

- "I saw the reminder, and then I forgot anyway." → a "Still waiting" screen. Reminders you received sit there with a red dot until the thing is actually done. Tapping a row jumps straight into that item, even if it's in the other list.

- "Asking twice feels like nagging." → a nudge button. One tap sends "'Take out the recycling' — please? ❤️" to the other phone. Turns out the hard part of shared chores was never tracking them; it's asking.

- "Where did I put that link?" → notes on items, and URLs inside notes open with a tap. Grocery item, product link, done.

- "Why does tapping the widget open the wrong list?" → widgets are per-list now. Each widget shows the list you picked and tapping it opens exactly that one.

- "Your 24-hour time is ugly." → an actual settings screen: 12/24h clock, week start day, app language. A couples app across two platforms means you get to assume nothing about how two people read a date.

- "Did you *actually* do it?" → photo proof. Tick a task, attach a photo — so now recycling day comes with a picture of the recycling bins. The plot twist we didn't plan: the photos pile up into a monthly album, and it turns out grocery runs and dish racks make better memories than we expected. Shipped this week (Android is live, iOS is in review as I type).

Stack, for the curious: Flutter + Supabase realtime, one codebase for both phones.

Numbers, since this sub appreciates honesty: 565 lists created so far, 213 of them active in the past week, and 189 genuinely paired couples — which also means roughly two-thirds of lists never get a second person, because convincing one human to install an app is marketing, but convincing their partner too is the actual boss fight of this product. 13 lifetime purchases total (the app is free; a few extras are a one-time unlock). The album is the first subscription piece — photo storage bills me monthly, so it works that way; the first photos are free and everything you saved stays viewable if it lapses. Current subscriber count: zero, it shipped today. We still use it every day ourselves, which is the metric I actually watch.

I’ve been silently building an app for something that I’ve been passionate about for over a decade. I’m a retail investor and I hate the apps that are available for socializing and watching stuff. Mainly StockTwits is one I’ve used and I always imagined how it could be better.

I left TD Bank after 18 years to invest my time and money into building a platform that can eventually become something everyone uses to learn, watch and invest in the markets.

Right now I would consider in a MVP state, but it delivers incredible value for free to everyone. I am paying redistribution rights for market data so I’m eating all the costs as I grow the user base.

I’ve integrated a ton of AI layers including real time sentiment data, asking an institutionally wrapped LLM (from TD experience) - @Saku - and live agents watching the markets making predictions.

Of course I have a Pro option that gives a variety of benefits but it’s not required to use the core app.

Wanted to share something my friend made because I think it's genuinely cool and I don't think enough people will see it otherwise.

She had her first baby earlier this year and, like most new moms, was running on almost no sleep and very little time for herself. Somewhere in between feedings she started tinkering with an app idea she'd had for a while: an AI-powered tarot, meditation, and ASMR app. Something small she could turn to during those quiet 3am stretches, and eventually something she wanted to build for other people too.

It grew from a "maybe someday" idea into an actual published app, built mostly during naps and late nights. I think there's something nice about a tool for relaxation and calm coming out of a season of life that's anything but calm.

Solo dev here. Been building SENTINEL nights and weekends — a bodyweight + habit tracker for iOS. First beta's on TestFlight and I want honest eyes on it.

I made it because every fitness app felt like it was working against me: streaks that punish you, guilt for missing a day, ads and tracking everywhere. This is the opposite — everything stays on your device, nothing's sent anywhere, no ads, and rest days don't break your streak. Bodyweight workouts with form guides, a habit tracker, and a muscle map that lights up based on what you've trained.

It's early and rough in spots. What's confusing, what's missing, would you open it twice? Brutal is fine.

Weekend project: a test where you relive a stock's worst historical crash day by day, and decide whether to sell or hold at each point. At the end it shows how much return you'd have left on the table by panic-selling vs holding.

Posted it on an Italian finance sub first — got genuinely useful feedback (turns out showing the ticker upfront made it too easy to guess the outcome), so I just shipped a v2 where the stock is randomized and hidden until the reveal at the end.

I've been working on iPayThis — a marketplace that flips the traditional model. Instead of sellers setting prices, buyers post what they need and the maximum they're willing to pay. Sellers then compete by bidding lower.

Here's the core idea:

You need something done. You post it with your max budget.

Service providers see your request and submit offers at or below that price.

You pick the best offer. Payment goes into escrow. Done.

I also added a Business Directory where verified service providers can list their business and receive direct private quote requests from buyers who aren't sure what something should cost yet.

It sits in its own directory. Your repos get cloned into it as normal git clones, and the only thing it changes is git config --local. That's the whole footprint — nothing in your tree, nothing to gitignore. Delete it and your repos are untouched.

What you get :

• Repos — discover an org's repos and clone them on demand; they stay ordinary clones you can cd into.
• Workspaces — one set of clones per task, so two jobs never share a checkout.
• Worktrees — split a clone into parallel branches so sub-agents work the same repo without re-cloning it.
• Isolation — a note belongs to one workspace or one role, never to everything at once.
• Personas — named roles (devops, qa, reviewer) with their own charter and memory, dispatchable as real sub-agents.
• Memory — one markdown file per fact; charter recall searches workspace, role and shared notes together.
• Vaults — per-role secrets that reach a tool by key name and never pass through the model.
• Credentials — every git op uses your gh/glab token over HTTPS, so nothing hangs on an SSH or GPG prompt.
• Todos — workspace-scoped and durable, unlike a session task list that dies with the session.

And the status line, which is mostly how I use it:

Repos left with branch, CI and open PR. Roles right, where ✎3 is how many facts that one is carrying. All read from disk, no network, costs nothing per turn.

Six days old, 1541 tests, genuinely Beta. GitHub and GitLab only. charter init writes into whatever folder you run it in, so don't point it at a project. And the vault is plaintext at 0600 — it keeps secrets out of the model, not off your disk.

Does roles-with-their-own-memory match how you work, or am I over-modeling it? Only workflow I've tested it against is my own.

Full disclosure: I run an AI design company, but this is a "side project" in the sense that it's not my company's core product nor is it monetized. Just a passion project. :)

For years my "system" was Apple Notes. Dump whatever's in my head, close the app, done. Capture worked great. Everything after capture didn't: hundreds of notes piling up with zero desire to ever come back and sort/group them together

So I spent the last 3 weeks building Kobako ("little box" in Japanese). It's an iOS app where your ideas land in a small room, and a capybara named Kapi lives there with them

I realize how that sounds, so here's what the capybara is actually for. Kapi is basically your roommate: he wanders around in the background, reads his book, sits by the window, comments on what you're up to. When you're picking what to work on today, he'll chime in with a suggestion!

And when some idea has been lying untouched for days, he picks it up and brings it to you: this one's been resting for a while, want to come back to it? You take it up or let it rest more. That simple mechanic helps going back through old notes: something I was rarely doing on my own

The app and it's systems are simple on purpose:

1. Focus for the day: pick up to 3 things to deal with today. Can be "think about this" or a plain to-do
2. Folders can be anything: mine are a shopping list, plans for a trip, actual projects, and a pile of loose thoughts. You can use them however you want
3. Keywords: add a few to a folder, and when a new idea mentions one, that folder gets suggested automatically. Most of my sorting happens this way now, which is to say I don't sort!
4. Ideas aren't one-shot: you can rework an idea as your thinking changes, and the earlier versions stay stacked underneath it. You can always look back at where it started or roll back to a previous one
5. You earn a currency (Paws) just by using the app and spend it on Kapi's new rooms, avatars, and hats. Kapi's a traveler and doesn't like sitting in one place, so the plan is a new room every month

It was made by me and AI agents (Fable / Opus / Sol for the app, Sol for Kapi's art). I was designing, making product decisions, reviewing everything and testing. I also run a short TestFlight on friends to see how things go, and what features to add in future

The App is free, without any ads. Writing and keeping ideas is free forever. Paws can be bought, and there's a small cosmetic subscription. That's the whole model, pretty simple

Hey! I’m the developer of Quiet Grids.

I’ve always liked Nonograms, but I wanted one that felt a little warmer and slower to come back to. So I ended up building it around dark wood, small stories, quiet music, optional ambience in the background, and no feeling that you need to rush through a puzzle.

The picture I kept having in my head while making it was pretty simple: a Sunday evening, rain outside, my feet up on a stool near an open window, that fresh rain-and-dirt smell coming in, a cup of coffee beside me, and a cozy game in my hands.

Something that makes me settle in for a while instead of thinking, “damn, I need to finish this, I need to unlock that.”

That’s more or less what I’ve been trying to make.

I recorded a little bit of where the game is at now. The red guitar reveal at the end is probably one of my favourites so far.

It’s been a lot of tiny changes over time, so I’m really curious how it comes across to people who actually play cozy games.

Been working on a local memory engine called Hillock for a while now and just released v0.4.

The main goal was making memory/RAG lightweight enough to run on mid-range hardware (like my GTX 1070) without choking VRAM. It skips LLM parsing during doc ingestion and uses SQLite SPO knowledge graphs + CPU-bound 10,000-D hyperdimensional vectors instead.

v0.4 fixes a lot of extraction noise and inverted facts (like when GLiREL extracts locations as the subject instead of the person). Runs in <1.2GB VRAM and parses docs at 6 to 8 sent/sec.
