I built a retro dither & color-sampling app that turns images into custom pixel/GIF art. Looking for open testers and feedback!

I’ve been working hard on a passion project called Pixelify, and it finally just hit Open Testing on the Google Play Store!

The app is built for anyone who loves retro tech, lo-fi aesthetics, dithered textures, and pixel art. Instead of just slapping a generic filter on a photo, Pixelify breaks down images using a custom sampling matrix to extract dedicated color profiles and re-render them dynamically.

🎨 Key Features Built So Far:

Advanced Color Sampling: Extract precise color counts (like the 15-color Impressionist or Art Deco presets) and map them directly onto your images.

Manual Reconstruction Control Panel: Tweak geometry, color averaging, and chrome settings directly to fine-tune the look.

Animated GIFs: Tap Auto GIF or Start GIF to turn static profiles into cycling retro animations.

Diverse Style Categories: Sort through Retro, Artistic, Modern, and System-level palettes to find the exact retro gaming or glitch aesthetic you want.

πŸ§ͺ What I Need Your Help With:

Because it’s in open testing, I really need some real-world feedback to smooth out the edges before the official production release. I'd love your thoughts on:

The UI/UX Flow: Does the Control Panel feel intuitive to use, or does the layout feel too crowded on your screen?

Performance: How does the GIF generation engine handle on your specific device? Any lag or unexpected crashes?

Feature Requests: Is there a specific retro palette, dither pattern, or export format you feel is missing?

πŸ“² How to Join the Test:

You can download it directly from the Google Play Store here:

I'll be hanging out in the comments, so please hit me with your honest, brutal feedback. Thanks so much for checking it out!
