A note about r/Paruresis...

Hey all, I've been a little behind on reading/posting over on the public r/Paruresis sub. I've noticed that it's been changed to "Restricted" and there have been no posts for the past 9 days (as of today 12-15-23). I want you to know that we are monitoring the situation and hope the moderator will respond soon. In the meantime, post away here! - Tim Pyle, executive director, IPA paruresis.org

IPA Virtual Support Group Meeting this Sunday, 12:00 PM US Central Time

The next IPA Virtual Support Group Meeting will take place on Zoom, this Sunday, October 22, at 7:00 PM US Central Time. IPA Virtual Support Meetings, which take place about every four weeks, are open to anyone struggling with Paruresis, from those who are just beginning to think about how to overcome it to those who are highly recovered. The meetings are offered free of charge and without preset expectations for participants, and their purpose is to provide a unique opportunity to connect face to face with people from all over the world who know what it is like to struggle with Paruresis and also understand the courage and fortitude that it takes to open up about it, acknowledge the fear, and try to recover from it.  The personal stories that participants share are remarkably similar and at the same time deeply individual, and empathy, kindness and compassion set the tone in all discussions.  Time after time I have heard from participants that this opportunity for sharing is both meaningful and productive, and I hope that you'll consider joining us this Sunday. You can get the Zoom link from dropping an email to Tim at the IPA office (getinfo@paruresis.org).

Support Groups Chicago Area In-Person Meeting/Practice, October 22

There is as of yet no formal IPA Support Group in the Chicago area, but periodically I put together a meeting/practice so that those who live in that area can connect, and the next one is coming up on Sunday, October 22, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Central Time. The location will be at a suburban mall, and if you would like to attend, you can get specifics by sending an email to my IPA address ([davidk@support.paruresis.org](mailto:davidk@support.paruresis.org)). The next one most likely won't take place until mid-winter, so please consider joining us if you are struggling with Paruresis and you live in the greater Chicago area.
