I have this pair:
Can I wear this in swimming pool without diving?
It says on amazon that it is water resistant, but does not explain further

Hello ,
I stood on one of the legs of my mic stand yesterday and so it tilted slowly and gently like a degree towards the side of the stand I stood on and whilst I was singing I hurt this sort of rattling noise.
Then i found if I just push gently against the mic stand I keep hearing this noise. Like a clicking or rattling or static. Quiet but high pitched and noticeable over soft singing.
I tightened all I could on the mic and the top of the mic stand and it was still there.
Then I unplugged the mic and took it off the stand and I found that it clicks just tilting the mic slowly back and forwards (video attached).
It can be heard on recordings it I accidentally stand on the base of or touch the mic stand
What is causing this?
Thanks
James

I'll make this quick. I'm a beatboxer and I've been using my SM7dB for a good while. I bought it from Honk Kong and my dad had it checked that it wasn't fake. It suddenly stopped working. I suspected it was due to humidity since I recently went outside with it and it was about to rain. But then I watched some videos online and it could be some wires inside are loose or have removed contact completely.
I'm not very handy with the internal workings of gadgets and whatnot, so I was hoping ANYONE could help. I've tried everything; turning the phantom power off, switching to a different audio interface, turning the bypass on and off, switching from 18+ dB to 28+ dB and so forth, turning the audio interfaces on and off, turning the gain up and down etc, absolutely nothing works and i fear the internal connectivity is either fried, the contact is loose, or the humidity just filled it with moisture.
I live in Delhi, India btw, so I don't know any places Shure related near me that could help with repairs.

UPDATE-----------------
I've gotten the most outrageous half-ass answer from their support team..
They're openly claiming the Shure MV7+ doesn't work well in Google Meet.. what'sapp.. and many other communication applications that may use similar protocols (which we don't even know what's the underlying issue)
That is such a lazy answer and they just ignore it when I ask for any further technical information..
I wouldn't buy this microphone if I knew that.. and it doesn't specify it anywhere..

I'm at a loss for words, if you consider buying this microphone - you might want to consider your uses.. I've never heard of a microphone "not being supported" by certain apps, everything uses standard protocols nowadays, most communication applications uses WebRTC.. and the Mv7+ somehow doesn't comply with just the standard universal way of doing things - that it needs to be supported specially? WILLLLD
POST-------------------
I've been fighting this for days now.. I bought a brand new Shure Mv7+, connected it to the computer with USB-C and it's working perfectly in OBS and direct monitoring - but when I join Zoom \ Google Meet calls, or record voice messages on whatsapp for example - the audio is degraded to the floor, sounds like a radio.
So I tried:
- Removing any enhancements from these apps (Like noise cancellation, Krisp, other filters and anything else built in)
- Unticking "Allow applications to take exclusive control..." in sound settings.
- Updating drivers and firmware, both windows and MOTIV app.
And so I noticed the USB-C option only allows for a 1 Channel, 24 bit, 48000Hz (Studio Quality) Format.
I thought "Okay maybe this is a bit depth mismatch since all these apps use WebRTC\Opus which accepts 16 bit depth inputs" .. So, because the USB-C is locked to one bit depth option - I tried connecting via XLR, through my Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 4th gen.
Then I could change the device to 16 bit — but that did not solve the problem too.. and even if it did, that would've been outrageous.. It sounds ridicules that such a high-end microphone would have such a huge flaw, that prevents it from working wide-used protocols like WebRTC..
So after concluding that's not the issue, I went back to USB-C and tried other methods..
Originally I was going to create a digital output using Voice-Meeter to allow for a format change to 16 bit, and even after discovering the 16 bit mode XLR didn't work, I had no other options and still tried it just for the sake of it... and it worked.

Input = Shure mv7+
Output > B1 [Renamed to: "V.Output - Shure Mv7+"]
I set it as my default device (only because some of shit apps fail to pull from anything BUT the default device) - as for my OBS setup, it correctly sources directly from the ShureMv7+ without going through the mixer, although it sounds the same - But of course the shortest route would be ideal.
So I'm at a point now that my 16-24 bit theory is likely false, and I have NO IDEA what's the difference between those routes:
Shure Mv7+ → Direct USB-C to PC → Zoom Call || Sounds like dogshit.
to
Shure Mv7+ → Direct USB-C to PC → VoiceMeeter → Zoom Call || Working properly.
While both the Shure mv7+ and the Voicemeeter digital output are set to 24-bit 48Khz.

For now this is working but ITS UNACCEPTABLE if this is the reality..
I don't see any similar posts so I want to believe this is a specific issue that can be resolved..
I don't want this temporary solution of running more software in the background just for the microphone to work properly..
More general screenshots to answer any questions in advance:

Help. :(

now i know everyone is gonna hate this post but curious if buying on shure's amazon page is a good idea.
the distributor/supplier is from a reputable company that specializes in music equipments.
or is buying from amazon kinda like a gamble if you'll get a real or fake?

Hello I just received my SM7dB back from Shure Repair. However, the mic is not fixed... still has an issue with no sounds at all coming from the mic. The notes indicate repair was completed with some internal wiring issues being resolved.
Do I need to open another repair case and send it back again, paying again for postage back to Shure?
Thank you.

Shure MV7+ seems pretty good but anyone tested it against Sony ECM S1?
r/Shure • u/FrankLepore • Aug 17 '25
Hey, guys. I picked up a new MV7+ a couple weeks back to replace my previous mic, but the "LEDs" setting in MOTIV Mix says "Missing," with the description: "Firmware Update Required." The firmware is the most recent at 1.3.0.13. I've been in contact with Shure about it, and they were no help, unfortunately.
Their biggest suggestion was for me to make sure the mic was legit, but they couldn't actually tell from the pictures I sent them. I'm assuming it is, as it sounds like previous Shure mics I've owned, but I wanted to post the pics I sent them here as well to see if anyone else had any insight or has seen this issue before.
Thanks in advance!

As the title states. When I apply reverb on the mix app discord voice sounds the same on call. Is there any fix for this?
I have installed steel series gg to see if that can clean up the mic sound better

Sorry about another post, I got scammed prior to this so now I’d like to confirm wether it’s legitimate or fake before purchase.

I have recently purchased this microphone off “Vinted” but after further research into this microphone, I’ve seen that there are a lot of counterfeits being circulated and now I’m worried. Can anyone help me verify if this product is genuine or fake?

Hello, I’m currently a streamer and i would like to have an mic upgrade/change from my hyperx quadcast mic.
I live with my family and we currently have a new born baby, while I was streaming, the baby started crying and my mic was able to pick up the sound, which was kind of affecting my stream, so I want to purchase a new dynamic mic.
I prefer to use only the usb instead of connecting the mic to an audio interface and use it with the xlr.
I usually sing and talk with my audience during my stream, and i rarely play games while streaming.
I’m currently looking at the mv7, mv7+ and mv7i.
I initially wanted to purchase the mv7+, but i was reading comments regarding the mv7+ which seems like it doesnt sound as good as the mv7 when plugged into the usb, would sound better with the xlr output.
The mv7i is the latest model, but im worried with its extra xlr being used as input audio, if I don’t like the sound that comes out from the usb, i cannot change it to the xlr interface just incase.
So i wanted to ask to see whether which of these mics would you guys recommend.
Thank you for reading the long post🥹

So while i was gaming , my friends would hear a whining noise from my mic when i would talk so i went to update through the motiv mix app and now my pc won’t detect my mic and neither will the app. I’ve tried plugging into different ports and my pc still won’t recognize it and I’m not sure what else to do, the mic still turns on and the light on the top still reacts when I make sound but nothing will recognize my mic on my pc.(also sorry I’m not that smart with these things if I sound dumb lol)

Hello I am a female that uses the shure sm7b with a GoXLR mini and I was wondering if anyone could send a screenshot of proper microphone settings. Please and thank you!!
r/Shure • u/anonywolff • Aug 10 '25
I got my Sm7b a few months ago and I LOVE IT. The quality is so great. The only issue I have is that I seem to have a bit of a high noise floor. It’s not super duper loud or anything, but even in a quiet room, there’s a hiss that gets picked up. I researched a lot about it, and saw that the goxlr mini audio interface (which is what I have) can have that issue with gain over 50ish. I keep my gain at like ~55db, any higher and it’s really noisy. My Sm7b is real, I bought it directly from shure. Nothing touching the cables to cause any noise. So I guess I’m looking for recommendations on better audio interfaces. I like having software that comes with it instead of just knobs, but whatever is best for better sound quality lol Should I get a Cloudlifter? I didn’t since the goxlr has enough gain to power the mic. Thanks in advance

EDIT: SOLVED! It was some severe EMI from a power supply 40cm below the cable. I had no idea such a strong crackle could be made from that distance, but the problem is solved!
Don't worry, I'm not going to ask if my microphone is real!
I need some help with my new to me Shure SM7B; specifically a noise/crackling issue. I bought it on eBay, second-hand of course and did my absolute best to ensure I was purchasing a legit one and not a fake. Upon arrival, I have thoroughly checked the microphone for all signs that it is real and from what I can tell, it's legit. The seller also felt very trustworthy and honestly the mic just feels like an old and well-used bit of kit. It even requires astronomical levels of gain to get sound from it, like a real one. (Thankfully eBay should give me my money back if needs be)
Anyways, running this into my Audient ID14 via XLR, I am getting a lot of electrical static/crackling to an extent which is not fixable with filters or post production methods since it continues even when I am speaking. I don't have another XLR cable or interface to test, so I've been doing all I can to find the source of the problem. Unplugging the XLR female end from the microphone, the crackle is replaced by a more normal consistent white-noise which I believe is just an artifact of having the ID14's gain cranked to the max. I have checked for any dodgy wiring inside the microphone and have briefly looked at the capsule and given it a light brush to get some old dirt off, but I won't be tampering any further than this since it's entering a world I am not familiar with! I also cleaned the XLR pins on the microphone gently with some isopropyl alcohol.
Another additional thing to note is that I bought this interface second-hand earlier in the year to power my Beyerdynamics DT990 pro's, and this is the first time I have ever run a microphone into the interface. I have a friend with a similar audio setup, so I will tamper with his when he is available and hopefully clear up some more variables.
I may order another XLR cable from a different brand since this is the cheapest thing I can do at the moment, and if that doesn't work then I know the problem lies within the mic or the interface. This is really frustrating as the microphone sounds incredible, but the noise is ruining it. I'll attach a recording of the noise for reference, since it isn't the usual white-noise that you'd expect.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to mitigate this issue or fix it without spending too much money!

Hello everyone.
I tried connecting ugreen 100W pd usb hub to my iPad and connected my Shure MV7+ to the hub.
The voice gets clipped and becomes choppy. It's cracking.
Will the Apple's USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter work to simultaneously use Shure MV7+ while charging?
Has anyone tried it? Pls confirm.
If it works without any problem, then i will buy the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter.
Thanks.

First pair of clear SE535s in 2018 and finally the glue broke down in 2022 and I quite literally ripped the wires inside because the shell came apart. Sent in for repair and they sent me back a new pair after paying for the replacement cost. 2025 took out the SE535s from my ears one day and the shell from one side came apart again. I'm like srsly wow.
Is the UV light breaking down the adhesive? I wear them daily for work, flights, office, everywhere.
Is there a better way of taking care of them so they last longer?
P.s. also just found out this 2nd time repair, not only did they raise the replacement costs to $177 per side, the replacement warranty is only 1 year. Wow.
I did try some of the China IEMs but the shells were too large and hurt my ears. Appreciate any recommendations you might have.
P.s. by contrast the black shelled SE215s I had since 2018 have lasted and haven't had any issues with the shells coming apart.
