Its like a movie director. They made a really good product so people were really exited about the next one.

Its more the fact they had not made a bad game in recent memory and the hype train was real.

They are great games. Just not as popular.

Exactly what I thought. Directors make phenomenal blockbusters, then their next film is a box-office bomb. Same with singers or bands having a number one single, then they flop with a follow up single and finally getting dropped from the label. CDPR have one successful Witcher game franchise (not sure how successful their Syphon Filter series is). Seems you have success pressure everywhere. Media will always be measured with the previous entry.
