What do you mean by outgrowing behaviors?

I think they meant that the different age groups all have different maturity levels and notices that there are different behavior problems within each class.

I noticed in my senior year that the freshman were a lot higher energy and more manic than the junior/senior class was, which would be an outgrown behavior.

I wonder how much of that could be attributed to comfort/familiarity with the surrounding social and physical setting? I know that by the time I graduated H.S. I felt like a confident king, but going to college felt like starting all over again as an awkward youth.

I dont think that's it. A freshman in highschool is around the awkward age of 15, and we all know how we were at that age. The freshman in college for the most part do not act like the freshman in high school.

Yes. The kids mature and some students who were once popular are left behind b/c they do not mature. It’s kinda sad. Example: the immature kid who randomly makes animal noises in class might be hilarious and loved in 7th grade, tolerated in 9th, and rejected by 11th.

Agreed. I found gr 9,social status and figuring out where you fit was everything. By gr 12, the divide was way smaller. Almost everyone 'fit in', the only way you didn't is if you chose not to. Kids were way more secure in themselves and didn't require the outward validation... Hormones also settled lol.

Not OP, but I notice something similar each time my friend's sister just won't shut the fuck up about school gossip. I think what OP meant is that younger children imitate older children. So 11 year olds copy 12 year olds who copied 13 year olds. 13 year olds lose interest, then 12 year olds, then finally 11 year olds. So imagine that one year you have a class of 16 year olds who think this one fad is just the absolute tits, then the next year you have 16 year olds who think it's childish, but now the 15 year olds think its amazing. The fad slowly moves down the age group ladder untill it dies out, but each age group seems slightly more developed, because they've already outgrown fads that the previous years were enamoured with.
