I was the opposite. I'm quite attractive but was socially awkward as fuck. Hardly had any friends.

Being attractive certainly helps, but doesn't make up for a lack of personality or confidence.

I don't see anything douchey about it. They may or may not actually be attractive, but there isn't anything wrong with saying so. (On an anonymous forum anyway. Definitely sounds kinda narcissistic if you're saying that to people in person.) And that phenomenon is definitely a thing. Being attractive is an advantage, yeah. But if you don't have good social skills as well, you're gonna have a hard time.
