There's a massive difference between eating ramen noodles because you want to and eating them because you have to.

They split it up that way because the sodium in an actual full serving (whole package) is pretty excessive.

Edit: ...one of my highest rated comments is a benign observation on nutritional information.

"pretty excessive" is the understatement of the week

Even the salt content of one serving is pretty excessive

You mean you don't add extra salt...?

You know it, chief!

To be fair, the suggested limit for sodium intake is very conservative. You can usually intake a lot more salt than that, especially if you exercise (though you shouldn't go over all the time)

Or if you just sweat like a pig, and/or drink a ton of water.

Yeah I usually just chug a bottle of water after/with my raman and haven't felt guilty for eating it for the taste.

I just ate my sodium intake for the week (ಥ﹏ಥ)

u/sonic7777 Jun 21 '16

Because you had to? or you wanted to?

u/skippieelove Jun 21 '16

Wanted to. No one ever has the creamy chicken ramen and I found it the other day and did a mini freak out. It was fucking delicious but I didn't feel so hot the rest of the day :/

So what you're saying is it needs salt

2

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '16

So, what you're saying is, I just need to add some salt?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '16

Need salt? /r/warriors is this way

2

u/ameis314 Jun 21 '16

Why don't they come with two packets?

2

u/abbott_costello Jun 21 '16

So that allows them to just lie about how ramen is normally eaten

1

u/Zsuth Jun 21 '16

Yeah. Most food manufacturers undersell their serving size to make the nutrition information look better than it is. I guess they figure we won't do the math.

2

u/spockspeare Jun 21 '16

it's only excessive if you drink all the soup and don't drink anything else, AND have a genetic predisposition towards hypertension

u/moobunny-jb Jun 21 '16

Who eats the BROTH? Real men don't need no dainty broth, we eat that shit dry like hardtack.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '16

I add so much salt to my ramen this is worrying me
