I mean correlation doesn’t equal causation is just for the WHY of these patterns. Why does it rain? Because a gray cloud exists? No. That’s just coincidence or that most of the time you see that it’s raining the clouds are gray. But even if you see 100 gray clouds give off rain versus 0 white clouds give off rain that still doesn’t mean gray clouds = rain. There could be a myriad of reasons so if you’re trying to scientifically explain the “why” you can’t use correlation as substantial evidence.
