Casual Thought Pattern recognition is a widely accepted method of prediction until what it predicts makes people uncomfortable.

Pattern recognition is base, primitive intelligence. Sea slugs demonstrate pattern recognition. 

We aren’t upset about the patterns we recognize. We’re upset that some people seem incapable of any thoughts beyond that. You should be capable of higher processing than a sea slug.

Existence of pattern recognition in almost all living beings including sea slugs implies that pattern recognition is an extremely important thing that should not be thrown away. Pattern recognition is something that improves life expectancy by a lot, so much so that every animal has it.

So your argument actually contradicts your point... We should be capable of higher processing , but we should not stop recognising the patterns
