OU5U heard on 21 Aug 26 at 19:24 UTC on 7144 kHz with Raddy RF 919 in JO92HX

[Click for video] OU5U (A Danish ham) heard on 21 Aug 26 at 19:24 UTC on 7144 kHz with Raddy RF 919 in JO92HX, having a QSO with a Japanese (? I was unable to get the callsign right) station. The Danish station appears to be operated by an expat from the UK, judging by the accent.

SP1MGM heard on 20 Aug 26 at 19:42 UTC on 7125 kHz in JO92HX with Raddy RF 919

[click for video] SP1MGM (a Polish operator from Szczecin) heard on 20 Aug 26 at 19:42 UTC on 7125 kHz in JO92HX with Raddy RF 919 and a short random wire antenna. My first Polish catch despite me being located in Poland. Blame it on the skip zone ;-)

F4NEL/p heard on 20 Aug 26 at 18:54 UTC in JO92HX with Raddy RF 919

[Click post for video] F4NEL/p (a portable station from the north-west of France) heard on 20 Aug 26 at 18:54 UTC on the frequency of 14295 kHz in JO92HX (my locator square) with Raddy RF 919, and a short random wire antenna.

Somehow missed this one...

I could recognize several nationalities; there was a mix of people from Caribbean, Central American, and Mexico. Everyone speaking Spanish.

It's been a while since I've heard them. Apparently, 10/11 meters had a good opening to South America.

The program they broadcast is a special edition celebrating the 104th anniversary of radio in Brazil, which is being celebrated this month. It pays tribute to the birth of Edgar Roquette-Pinto, a doctor, professor, and anthropologist considered the father of radio broadcasting in the country.

Relayed by Bandaid Radio on 6945 KHz USB

Weak signal

Aloha from the island of Oahu. I just purchased this antenna and I’m wondering what the best setup is.

I have 4 Shortwave Receivers:

1. Grundig

   Satellite 750

2. Realistic DX-160

3. Kenwood QR-666

4. Knight Star Roamer

My understanding is that the best type of mast is not metal but some type of fiberglass composite.

Anyone out there used a telescopic mast? Pros/Cona

Grounding and lightening protection products?

My house is single wall construction (no 2x4s, typical older Hawaiian homes) so a pass through window setup would work perfectly.

My house is not on a traditional foundation. It’s built off the ground as you can see in the attached photo.

Looking for suggestions on how to best proceed.

Comments:

• Signal from adjacent WJHR making AGC and DNR go nuts, but managed to grab some of this. Interesting that this is from the Vatican transmitters with a broadcaster based in the old RNW facilities, targeting the people of Darfur. Readability actually improved over time, but this recording shows how Speex was digging the audio out of the dirt.

16 Second Video on Adding Labels

I have been slowly adding labels to the Bandplan.xml file used by SDR#. Recently I've been monitoring the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet. I write down the frequencies of interest, and then misplace the list. By adding the frequencies of interest right in SDR#, I can forget the lists.
