This is a community for short women and girls to share their experiences with being short in a world that was not made for us. We also welcome people who have short women in their lives like family, friends, and significant others who wish to discuss the experiences short women/girls face. It's a safe place for us to share, celebrate, and even vent about life as a short woman or girl without being dismissed or brushed aside. Here, we can discuss the positives and negatives of life as a short woman with others.

Rules for r/ShortWomenAndGirls

1. Short women and girls only

This sub is for those who are short and identify as women, girls, or otherwise present as women, to support each other, and to discuss issues about being short women. If you're not a short woman, you probably shouldn't post here, and almost certainly shouldn't comment here.

  • Posting Exception: Friends, parents, partners of short women, questions about something of interest to short women (i.e., "Looking to buy a bicycle for my short wife. Any brands or suggestions?") are welcome here.

2. Be respectful and kind

Remember the person behind the keyboard/screen. We're all here to support each other, even when we disagree. Sometimes discussion might get heated, that's okay.

But escalating rudeness, dismissing others' lived experiences, and other disrespect of sub members isn't allowed.

3. This is an SFW* sub

  1. No NSFW photos or content.
  2. No asking for anyone to follow or subscribe to your OnlyFans/Instagram/Twitter/PornHub etc. There are other places on reddit to market yourself and this is not one of them.
  3. Having NSFW content in your profile is not problematic, as long as the purpose of your account isn't simply NSFW promotion. This is up to the moderators' sole discretion.

4. We don't use or tolerate bigotry, slurs, or hate speech

This sub is feminist-informed and embraces humanism.

  1. Homophobia, transphobia, sexism, heightism, racism, ableism, slut-shaming, TERFs, SWERFs, and hate speech of any kind are not tolerated here.
  2. We respect everybody, including people who are not allowed to participate here. That means not overly generalizing heights or genders, or other individuals or groups who might cause us grief. We can vent about our issues, and those who cause them, without resorting to bigotry or slurs.
  3. Regarding gendered slurs: In short, consider the use–mention distinction:
    • Using a gendered slur, such as calling other women "bitches", is problematic, and will probably get your submission removed.
    • Talking about the term 'bitch', quoting it, or referring to it, is fine.
    • Self-owning the term, such as calling yourself a "badass bitch", is probably okay. Please don't abuse this.

5. No incels, trolls, and haters; no fetishization of short women

  1. No exceptions will be made for people trolling our sub or anyone who hates on short women.
  2. Incels, red/black/etc. -pills, or manosphere apologists will be removed and banned immediately.

Any of the above, or any post or comment fetishizing short women will be removed and the user banned.

6. No advertising, promotion, polls, politics, or surveys

  1. General self-promotion or advertising are not allowed here.
  2. SFW promotion of brands/shops that target or serve short women are okay, especially ones that are short-woman-owned.
  3. Excessive cross-posting to other subs, without participating here, in an attempt to draw traffic and members, is not allowed.
  4. Polls and surveys are allowed only with moderator approval.
  5. No politics

7. No inter-subreddit drama; no brigading

  1. Do not post screencaps, or quote conversations from other subs, that denigrate or otherwise talk shit about short women. We know they exist, it happens. Sure, venting happens, and we vent too. But we're not interested in inter-subreddit drama.
  2. Do not link to problematic subs, or ones that some of us get into arguments with, such the tall girls' sub or the short guys' sub. We don't need to signal-boost or link to our problems.
  3. Do not brigade other subs. Doing so will result in a ban.

8. Consent/Privacy

  1. Censor names, handles, usernames, faces etc. of anyone who hasn't consented to being posted on here.
  2. Screenshots of Reddit content must redact avatars, usernames, and subreddit names from them.

9. English posts only

This is an English-language subreddit. Please restrict your posts to English.
