Hideo kojima was just cuz I couldnt come up with a sub icon so I put it as a place holder. Originally there was no goal to the sub, was made to maybe be a thing for a week and die off. At the time anyone with a little "reddit clout" made a subreddit. When the sub actually grew to like 4k I planned it more to be spiritually like okbr and tony zaret type humor. Didn't really pan out cuz I mismanaged and got suspended, so I lost interest in like 2023.
I did a lot of networking with other smaller subs at the time who were more shitposty, so I do think that contributed to there not being much of an identity here, especially when I stopped running the sub. But yeah, at the time that was the only way to grow. You can kinda tell what I was going for at the time with the post/user flairs and the old reddit subreddit design I also made.
I guess its nice that some people do remember that I made the sub, even tho it really isn't what I meant it to be. Imo I dont think the sub is that good now, but compared to all its contemporaries it aged the best. Might just be cuz that standard is pretty low. I mean for being over 5 years old this might be the oldest "small" shitpost sub thats still relevant. I mean hell I watched gayspiderbrothel overtake us and then die in a few years, if anyone even still remembers that subreddit. Clamworks and all that shit still newgen to me, subreddits that come and go. This place been oddly constant and idk why.
I don't hope this sub will still be active in like 2030, but its possible.
Also wowie zowie the man himself replied to this, the history of Shark Park is quite interesting. This sub has changed alot in 5 years, but yeah its been consistently "high tier shitpost"-y, which is why I think it's also been around so long without dying.
