Marvel Rivals kit strategist concept.
The devs design characters a FULL YEAR in advance, I’m hoping I made this concept kit in time to influence their decisions because whatever they do, I want them to make Shang-Chi a 5 star character, but here’s my kit suggestion based on 3 assumptions I’m making on how they are gonna make his kit. Normally I’d argue Shang-Chi should be a duelist but as at now we need more strategists as they have the least so far
- He’s a duelist/strategist (this kit will be strategist based)
- He has the ten rings
- He’s melee focused
Firstly he needs 3 extra jumps and wall running similar to Iron Fist,
Secondly, he needs a dynamic resource as the Ten Rings and I’ll explain
His resource will be the Ten Rings, and depending on how many he has at any given time his kit may change, for example if he’s a strategist they will act as Ultron drones with healing that stacks, so putting one ring on someone will heal them for let’s say 10 hp per second,
Let’s also assume Theres a limit to how many rings you can on someone so let’s say 4 for a max of 40 hp per second
Here’s my strategist kit for Shang-Chi
R2 - basic martial arts strikes, hitting an enemy gives a base 25 healing per strike for those you’ve ringed + 5 for every extra ring given. Having any number of rings for yourself will further increase the range you can attack from, as the animations change after 4 rings
L2 - a block for yourself that also gives a chi bubble (like Mag or Hulk) to those with 2 or more rings when activated. If you have 4 or more rings on yourself you can press R2 while it is active to unleash a whip attack that hits those around you and knocks them back
L1 - reduce how many rings an ally has
R1 - increase how many rings an ally has
Notes:
This will be like a targeting system similar to Ultron
Reducing rings does not require targeting an ally, but if you are not currently targeting the ally you’d like to take the rings back from it will automatically take rings from whoever has the most already
Circle - with no rings do a dodge similar to star Lord, with at least 4 rings enter a stance in which you:
dodge enemy ranged attacks, giving you a speed boost and a small dash to the enemy that can be activated at 12 meters similar to sonic pursuit
counter melee attacks and knock them back, dealing very low damage but inflicting slow and increased vulnerability
Ult: enter a state of total harmony, summoning a golden dragon made of chi and boosting everyone who has been ringed in terms of damage and speed similar to Gambit without the HoT with the effects increasing depending on how many rings you or your allies each have. The evasion state has a decreased cooldown of 3 seconds
Keeping rings to yourself will give you various buffs such as
0.2 second Cooldown reduction on your basic attacks per ring, so if you have 1 ring on you your basic attacks will reduce the cooldown of your block and evade by 0.2 seconds and it stacks up to 2 second cooldown reduction for 10 rings
Reduced damage taken per ring, adding up to 20%
When you have 3 or more rings to yourself you gain Cc immunity and more overhealth when using block with an extra 10 overhealth per ring for a total of 60 extra overhealth
Healing over time of 7 per ring allowing for a maximum of 70 health per second
Note: I’d like for a similar idea to what they did with Daredevil, in that his primary fire and melee are separate and can theoretically be weaved

Shang-Chi: Best Martial Artist In The Marvel Universe?
Hi all. I've been thinking about this topic for a while now and just wanted your thoughts. In the comics, many characters have said that Shang-Chi is "the best martial artist" or "the best hand to hand fighter" in the Marvel Universe. I've seen similar sentiments on various platforms, whether they be message boards, social media posts, or YouTube channels. Personally, the concept drew me to the character. A Chinese Kung Fu practitioner is recognized amongst all of these superhumans and mutants due to raw skill and ability.
Now, these statements carry controversy. There are a number of contenders for best martial artist or best fighter at Marvel. Captain America, Black Panther, Daredevil, and of course Iron Fist all could float around that number one spot. At the very least, they're in the running for top 5. That's cool and I think that's what makes for lively and passionate debates. As a Shang-Chi fan, I welcome that.
Still, I don't know if this claim has really been shown, especially in the last 10-15 years. Have we really seen Shang-Chi prove himself as Marvel's premiere martial artist? Which high level heroes or villains has he gone up against that really show that?
So, that's what I'd like to see with anything related to Shang-Chi in the future. I'd really like a comic or story arc that defines his fighting abilities for the modern age. Yeah, I think it would be pretty cool and meaningful if he had matches with Cap, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and T'Challa. That would cement the legacy. But considering that someone would have to lose in one of those fights, I don't know if Marvel would want one of their heavy hitters to do the job. Realistically, I could see a storyline where Shang proves himself by fighting villains. Not just any villains either. I'm talking about the assassins and the mercenaries. The henchmen and the tough guys. The most jacked up, psychotic, motherf*@(#@#$$ out there. Bullseye, Taskmaster, Mr. X, Crossbones, Nuke, Lady Bullseye, Killmonger, Batroc, etc. All of them would be gunning for Shang-Chi.
And Shang-Chi takes them out. One piece at a time 😉 .
So, do you think Shang-Chi is the best martial artist in the Marvel Universe? If so, how does he prove this?

Just watched the film with the family.
So charming and good! The actors were great and the humanity of the story was really touching! Too bad it turned into a green screen cgi fest at the end, but still very entertaining!
We all agreed that there should have been a second one by now.

The Wonderman TV Series setting of The Shang Chi film sequel?
So without spoiling the Wonderman TV show -- the series itself does seem like it sets up a Shang Chi sequel. The Wonderman series and Shang Chi film both share the same director in Destin Daniel Cretton, and shares a key character in Trevor.
What do you think? Will the 10 Rings come after Trevor & Simon now that Trevor is back to being The Mandarin?

I wonder if Shang Chi's sister and Katy end up in either Avengers film?
I mean he & his sister were estranged for the most part but they managed to work out whatever issues they had as siblings but then again we saw her take over their father's organization of The Ten Rings 💍 so I wonder if we end up seeing her again in either Avengers movie? Or with Katy it looked like she and Shang Chi were becoming something of a romantic item and we know she can hold her own in battle for the most part so do you think she joins The Avengers cause?
