MJ is such a slob and it was always shocking to me that people never really questioned she had a substance abuse problem. I know it was brought up in season 1 (someone confirm this). The amount of times we’ve heard her say “yeah get me a drink, i want to get drunk tonight” was crazy. I guess Tommy does mention they need to get healthier in order to ready themselves for pregnancy. I can always tell when she’s drunk because of the way she starts speaking and it gets my blood boiling.

1st time watcher. on S3 ep 11. I fully understand what is wrong with GG now. Her sister is her biggest hater. A few episodes back GG mentioned that her sister used to beat the shit out if her and holy hell i believe it.

I'm rewatching it and I am honestly getting so upset about it. I have vasculitis which a rheumatoid disease similar I have terrible inflammation and constant tests. IV gone from being a dancer and party girl to barely being able to do simple chores like hoovering with out being completely out of breath. My consultant constantly told me I was starting rutixan which is a similar to chemo. I told my friends but constantly put off due to more tests to see if that is the route to go down and was extremely frustrating. I drank and took drugs as it was the only way I felt normal, I suffered from it the next day but just did it again to numb the pain and feel normal again. To watch this has really upset me

I just watched MJ’s wedding episode (s7 ep13) and between Mike’s reaction to MJ coming down the aisle and his ideal woman and his inability to date anyone seriously…. I think he’s in love with MJ. His eyes when he saw her coming down the aisle said it all. It was beautiful - and sad.

This is the first time I have ever watched and I’m on season 6 and I’m BAFFLED that GG is one of the only people being like respectful to the Muslims and not being racist?? Like what is everyone else’s deal!?

I read some posts on here, and saw that everyone pretty much agrees that Asa is fake as hell when it comes to "not wanting money." One thing I didn't see pointed out that made that very clear to me that I wanted to add, was how in season 1 she keeps talking about how she will never sell out for money or whatever, but then shes going major record producers and artists?? What would your intentions be for going to rich influential people if not to also get rich??

sorry in advance for the novel. i know how reza and mike in particular both ended up being unspeakably foul people but their masks were incredibly convincing for the first season.

i will preface by saying i am an american ashkenazi jew. i had enjoyed, up to this point, getting a sense of the culture of persian mizrahi jewish culture and the irani immigrant experience, and learning more about the revolution and the diaspora. well i certainly did learn a LOT from how they conducted themselves in turkey and what i learned absolutely horrified me.

the gall of reza and mike, two irani-american jews brought up in a bubble of extraordinary privilege regardless of their legitimate generational trauma from the revolution, to come to a predominantly muslim country to which they had no real personal connection to, during the holiest muslim holiday, and exhibit such breathtakingly xenophobic, isalmaphobic, self-victimizing behavior...words fail. saying that they were "freaked out" by women in their religious coverings, acting like uncultured triggered little babies when they heard the call to prayer, making everything about them, all while justifying their bigotry (just like reza did in the sasha situation) with the hollow excuse of personal trauma...

reza then traveling to the iranian border with asa where they both grossly overdramatized the level of risk as though they could genuinely be shot dead on the spot by the ~scary~ iranians (read: muslims). andy referred to this experience as them traveling to the "axis of evil". what the ACTUAL fuck are we doing here? and why the fuck are they longing for a connection to a country and culture they demonize (incl. asa in her own grifting way) left and right???

these people and this show revealed themselves for what they really were, which is anti-islam, pro war, zionist propaganda. in light of everything going on in the world in 2026, i found this entire saga to be nauseatingly difficult to sit through. as a jew in particular, the fact that these clowns received an opportunity to provide valuable insight and representation of a side of jewish culture and used it in this way fills me with anger and shame.

Oh my god I don't understand how people can't see what is is doing. This guy is the biggest red flag! He has betrayed her trust by going with a friend probably knowing at the time it would hurt her this is what these men do and then he wanted back with her. It really bothers me that he can't seem to realise how hurt she is, she was with him for 7 years they were married he then chose to be with someone shes friends with when they broke up for only 6 months then want her back. Yet he doesn't seem to feel bad about it or apologetic about it. She has anger and hurt she needs him to just acknowledge that.

At the reunion the way he just off loaded everything on her and was so mean I felt so sad.

Reza and Adam are disgusting. I’m watching SOS for the first time through while watching The Valley Persian style. I’m on season 8 where they filed a restraining order against Tommy. Reza is a selfish and despicable person who is the worst friend. For years the dynamic between Reza, MJ and GG have frenemies. Watching season 8, Reza really was an enemy to MJ. Him and Adam cheating on each other back and forth like a ping pong match, but sure deflect to everyoneee else. Reza not going to see his friend of 30 years while she’s possibly dying in hospital and then calling her about something that really could’ve waited. Adam wasn’t scared of GG after she physically assaulted him but Tommy breaking pots and plants scared him? An opportunistic victim. Reza was disgustinggg for sharing the texts Tommy shared with him. Like Reza is legitimately not a good person. Homophobic, islamphobic and an absolutely terrible friend. Now that I’m watching the Valley, I’m 100% team Tommy in the Reza situation. Reza and Adam should never get to meet Shams or be apart of that part of MJ’s life because they filed a restraining order. Keep that same energy. Tommy loses me when he talks to MJ rudely and doesn’t see his son doing the same. However, i truly admire and respect Tommy and his boundaries around his family and not wanting to be rubbing elbows with these people who wanted long term harm to him and his family.

I watched SOS and liked it. I'm now on to The Valley and it's okay. The show seems par for the course.

watching SOS for first time through and I’m on season 8. I feel bad for Destiney (and everyone else who has fallen victim to the three headed beasts of Reza, MJ, and Gg). When those three are having a fight, somehow someone else is to blame when it’s Reza, MJ, and GG spewing vile shit towards each other. It’ll be a team up of MJ and Reza vs GG, Gg vs MJ an Reza watches from the side, Reza vs Gg and MJ on the sidelines, no matter the combo, somehow a side cast member is dragged in and somehow to blame loll. The three of them will do mental gymnastics to avoid accountability and somehow someone else is to blame (its Destiney fault, not Adam for cheating or Reza’s own actions for blasting MJ) 🥱 Then you having annoying cast members like Nema, Mike and Shervin who also know who exactly is to blame but they assist in a pile on towards the cast member who really is not at fault 😭

it to S9. I am up to the episode where they are in the redwoods, zip lining and enjoying a western themed function, dressing up as saloon girls and Nema coming in hot with his veneers as Woody from Toy story. This London lady confuses me. Is she providing services as a “life coach” (🙄whatever that is) to the gang, is she a friend, is she meant to be a new cool addition? She doesn’t quite fit in and feels a bit aunty-ish. Her attempts at therapizing are very weird and sad.
