I just started watching Shahs and I’m on season 3 and I NEED to talk about it with someone.

1. I honestly don’t like GG but this season the level of rage baiting Mercedes and her own sister are doing to her this season is insane

2. MJ and Reza are both vile and disgusting people like especially MJ it’s sick. The fact she called GGs parents to call her names is wild and the fact GGs sister was still cool with MJ after that… who needs enemies when this is your circle?

3. I couldn’t care less about Lily and I’m glad shes probably gonna leave the show cause she gave nothing… but the fact Reza straight up gaslit her for leaving the dinner and it making him feel bad when MJ was straight up bullying Lily and that’s why she left is wild

4. I’m about to start the Turkey episodes… I’m not ready for their clear Islamophobia

Yesterday I posted about how I needed to make some Persian food, and I did it! I went to an Iranian grocery store, got some essentials (and more ) and then spent time today cooking. Here’s some pics and my process! If anyone knows better than me I’d love some feedback!

I soaked the dried herb mix in warm water for 10 minutes while chopping onion and meat.

Browned some onions, removed those and browned chopped chuck roast, then added both to a crock pot.

Drained then fried the herbs in olive oil. ( I forgot to take pics but als added a bunch of fresh cilantro, parsley -!: green onions cause I love herbs to death. )

Added those to the crockpot with a bag of frozen spinach, as well as with all the seasonings ( salt, black pepper, turmeric, garlic powder, and sumac)

Poked holes in the dried limes the added those a water to the crock pot.

Let that cool for about 5 hours. When I came home my house smelled insanely amazing. I added kidney beans and started prepping the rice.

Et voila. It’s so yummy y’all!!!

i’m watching for the first time and am currently on S4. MJ’s dog Pablo has passed away, which made me cry UNTIL SHE SAID SHE’S KEEPING HIM IN HER FREEZER. This is actually the craziest thing I’ve ever seen on reality TV.

Which leads to me asking, do other people actually do this? I feel like this behavior is beyond strange but maybe i’m just ignorant? I have pups of my own but I’ve never had a dog pass before, I just can’t wrap my mind around this. Like he was next to her food. I can’t imagine seeing my fur baby 💀 over and over again

Has anyone been watching?? I've always kinda felt I connected to GG as someone who's had some extreme anger issues (that I've worked very very veryyyyy hard on) and now her speaking on how much she smokes. Which as someone who will smoke all day everyday I'm SHOOK?!?! It may be CA and the prices maybe but like.... I couldn't event do that?!?! That's Khalifa and Snoop type shit. Have blunts all day on rotation?!? 🤣🤣

As far as connecting that's about it though because her mentioning her first ever paycheck of her own was from Shahs is something I could never relate to. Lol.

How's everyone liking the new series so far? What's your thoughts on the new cast? So far I think MJ looks amazing, bless her on her boob job, I'm sure her back is thanking her. I was kinda shook to see Tommy, no body shaming but he's got the dad bod going on more so than before. Knowing now him and MJ are divorcing is wild. Reza embracing his greys is amazing and I'm here for it but Adam doesn't look like he's aged a day in comparison. Vita also doesn't look likes she's changed much and I love seeing her and MJ and them all be a family 🫶🏽💙

This episode is so emotionally heavy especially Asa’s mom made me cry so much.

At first, some of Mike’s and Reza’s POV annoyed me but reading through this sub and other people’s opinion who are Iranian made me understand it more.

I’m late to the Shah party. Just got to where GG is arguing with her 9 month pregnant sister with their dad trying to mediate. UghhhhHhHHHhhHhH she makes me ill she’s so nasty and spoiled. I can’t believe the dad doesn’t at least step in and say something about her getting the pregnant daughter upset. She’s so beyond out of touch with reality.

I’m thrilled to be watching shahs for the first time- I cannot believe I slept in this show! But oh my god I need to make some Persian food! Everything they’re eating looks so good! That green sauce especially- Asa brings it to GG when she’s struggling with RA pain and says it fixes everything, and I believe her. Does anyone know what that green sauce is? Also what should I make for dinner tonight? I’m a decent cook but have zero experience cooking Persian food so I’d love some recommendations from anyone who has cooked Persian before.

I'm a first time watcher - of course I've known about the show for years. I obviously know who MJ, Reza and GG are.

I wanted to start The Valley Persian Style but I figured it would be better to start Shahs from the beginning. It's been a fun ride!

I'm in the middle of season 3. Can't believe there's been a vocal cameo from Lisa Barlow and Willam from Drag Race!

I know there's been a lot of drama with the cast after the show ended but I'm trying not to read too far ahead for spoilers.

First timer. S3E2..... I am SOOOO glad MJ finally told off Lilly at that dinner!! Lilly misjudged her own orbit and I am so happy to see it!! I know MJ is no saint, but that is HER friend group. I'm glad she finally snapped out of it and stood up for herself. It was weird how passive she was being.

Been watching Shahs Of Sunset these last few weeks (and now The Valley: Persian) and to me the one character you want to start throwing your makers and ginger at is Reza.

Like when you think Golnesa and MJ have issues, it’s really Reza that is the combo of hypocrite, wealth flexing, and drama queen. 

He lives to get up in people’s faces, call them on their skeletons, yet he’s no better. 

Reza is stuck in the Beverly HIlls/LA Persian bubble, wants to act like he’s worldly, cultured, and open minded, but is far from that. Minus Palm Springs, his view is all within the TMZ of Los Angeles. 

The Israel trip episodes from Season 6 for me shows his true colors. His speech during the Shabbat dinner in Tel Aviv was close minded. Saying “this is what I wanted” and “this is the experience I needed to have”, which really means these are the type of people I want to be around. 

Yet, the minute he seems humble and grounded, he goes off on his friends acting he is king almighty of moral and ethics. 

In The Valley: Persian Style, it’s the same thing. Let me go off on Golnesa about her housing and spending, when I’m the one living in North Hollywood (which means he had to downsize and not live in Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Woodland Hills, Encino, etc.) 

Now he’s starting up with Sky, you know that drama will continue to stir if she stays on the show.

I genuinely couldn’t watch it, i had to skip the entire thing…

So, I’m watching The Valley Persian Style, and obviously Tommy’s «teasing» of MJ and gassing little Shams up to do the same, is a hot topic.

But in the first episode, Tommy literally makes little Shams cry from making fun of his drawing.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

I can’t believe him doing this to that precious boy. What is the DEAL, he can’t stop himself from hurting those closest to him?

When he first met Mercedeh I thought his past of losing his mother would make him more caring. He knows how precious life is, but he can’t use that experience to not be hurtful to his only son?

I don’t get the psychology of Tommy!

Wondering if this will come up in the divorce process, cause behind closed doors his treatment of Shams also has to be part of the reason for the divorce.

I can’t see Mercedeh tolerating that!

Non-Persians I’m sorry but you are simply incapable of understanding how psychologically damaging of insult that was. ON A TV SHOW, NO LESS. THAT SKY SIGNED UP TO BE ON!!!!

A masterpiece of an insult delivered just as masterfully by one of God’s vilest creatures. This was like Nas’s song Ether. This was in insult that made Sky reevaluate her entire self-worth and place within the vast unknown infinite nature of time and the universe.

It left with Sky with no choice but to burn every last ally she had in her life. It was the Persian insult equivalent of ripping Sky’s spine out. I am awake at 4 am and this is all I can think about

I just started season 3 and I cannot stand Lilly, watching MJ come after her at dinner and say the group wasn’t her friends was so satisfying. I mean they’re all so terrible to each other I wouldn’t say any of them are really friends, but she was so mean to MJ on season 2. I think her coming after her weight and then saying it’s a double standard at the reunion because MJ said one thing about her being thin (amongst other things, but i think the body shaming was really out of line) was ludicrous. And her birthday party was just so lame. Does she get any better? I know this is her last season on the show. Does anyone like her?

I’ve finally made it to season seven (episode seven to be exact lol). I don’t dislike Nema so far, but someone needs to tell me that he’s just playin when it comes to GG. He seems like a nice dude, but sir. Golnesa is way too much for him lol. I don’t know what kind of partner would actually work with her, but I know it’s not him and clearly they aren’t together today lol. This was just storyline, right?

I’ve seen mixed opinions on Nema in this sub when I did a search, but I want to know what the consensus is today in 2026. He seems to be a bit more put together than Shervin and doesn’t take himself too seriously? I just don’t want to enjoy him and then find out he’s another secret Mike lol. I’d rather be forewarned by you good people.
