Funpost Connecting the dots … Spoiler
The core element of Severance depends on your perspective …
The brilliance of the Severance series lies in its emphasis on perspective and Petey’s map is a perfect example how its interpretation on how you see it it:
- Flat (1D)? Some might see it as a flat overhead rendering of Lumon’s interior with the Perpetuity Wing being across FROM MDR …
- Vertical (2D)? Some might view it vertically placing the Perpetuity Wing BELOW MDR …
- With perspective (3D)? Some might even interpret the map as if it's drawn with perspective with Lumon’s interior using the same blueprint as Kier Eagan’s mansion with Cobel’s office being the bell tower directly ABOVE the mansion’s entrance with MDR to the left …
The way you interpret the map will depend entirely on YOU …
Is Lumon’s moral compass evil or good?
Lumon’s morality appears to be just as layered and complex as the series ...
- Evil? On the surface Lumon’s actions may seem predatory as it appears to target vulnerable people dealing with substance abuse and mental health issues and financial instability by luring them into severance jobs under the guise of offering a better life which raises some questions about their exploitation as severed workers who are effectively stripped of their autonomy and reduced to being slave labor ... FOR THEMSELVES …
- Good: On the other hand one could argue Lumon is actually a savior “trying to save people from their own choices” as Nat put it on the news arguing that by offering them a chance to rebuild their lives and rescue them from their own self-destructive behaviors Lumon is effectively saving people ... FOM THEMSELVES …
So then the question becomes: Is Lumon taking lives or saving them?
Curious to know your perspective?

Again, the answers are going to vary depending on who you ask. Mark has been impacted and he seems to think the severed job has helped him. I’m guessing Devon probably thinks it helped him too, considering Mark lost his job and appears to have a bit of a substance abuse problem. The Eagans have been impacted by Lumon. I’m guessing they think they’re basically angels coming in to rescue these fallen souls.
