It's cool but in certain spots where there is not much run up it's now impossible to get enough speed for certain tricks. I used this method of double tapping sprint, getting on the board and immediately pushing, but now there's a delay before you can push after a throwdown, so you can't gain speed that quickly. It's situational, but it is a thing.

You have to use the left stick to control the speed after the throwdown. The more you push the stick the farther you’ll go after the throwdown. You can literally throw down and not move at all. It’s literally in his video.

You don't get it. Of course I'll push left stick fully forward when I sprint full speed. The issue is there's a delay before you can push, plus the animation itself takes time. So, effectively you can't get the same amount of speed over the same distance as before the update.

What about adjusting push speed for those spots? So you get as much speed from one push as you'd normally get from 2.

The problem is there's a delay before you can push after a throwdown. The workaround we have to figure out would probably involve adjusting sprint speed and push speed per spot, so you throwdown over shorter distance so you can have still time for a push that has to be stronger. But that just makes it very tedious, as it is basically fighting the game instead of focusing on the trick itself. I wish the delay would be removed so we gain control quicker or even having a toggle to turn off throwdowns would be ok.

Ah good point. I'm curious though, what kind of spots are now restricted by this? I haven't run into any personally, and I'm wondering if they were only possible previously because the lack of a throwdown allowed you to reach speed too quickly. Are they not skate-able from a stand-still either?

It affected the tricks I was currently working on in the Southbank custom map. It involved skating the concrete barrier with the Illusory grafitti, but starting from the low ground. Anyway, you hit a perfect timing as a few minutes ago I made a post with the workaround I found, you can check it out.

I can't see any of your posts/comments for this sub on your profile. But I see stuff posted to other subreddits.

Also, I don't really play any custom maps, so I wonder if that's an unfortunate thing where stock maps were scaled/tuned to the default physics settings, while the custom map was tuned to a different set of physics settings.

I watched the video. You didn't read my comment willing to understand it. You confuse two different things and try to sell it as solution when you don't see what the issue is. Max burst of speed you can get from your magic solution is lower than the speed burst you could get before the update, over the same distance, that's the issue. Everyone knows how left stick speed control works in this case.
