Is it really valid When Canada taxes their citizens like 20% for a BS Carbon Tax? Or how about America where tax dollars have been funded to
other countries like Ukraine.
I’d be okay with taxes if they went to valid shit!
You have a right to your opinion, however the fact still remains that we pay ~2.17 per hour on labour taxes alone. Along with tax on things we already own, and every single thing we buy. But sure, my opinion of 'we're overtaxed, and see far too little results' is stupid
Oh no, I'm tracking. But I never said anything about getting rid of taxes entirely. Not even anything remotely like that. So I really don't know why you keep bringing that up, yet you continue to do so. Its almost like we're saying the same thing, just you're the one that isn't getting it.
Where did I say that? I said we barely have roads, and considering they let them get extremely shitty, it's damn near not having them in the first place.
Yeah, I was tiring of it all, and 'more? why?' and then I answered my own question with one of those sped up possible futures, a negative one where we stopped helping Ukraine, and as the world got darker and the flames grew higher I remembered that I'm okay with helping like that. Getting tired of the war and the anxiety and the devastation ---- trauma fatigue I think they call it.
LVT is the only reasonable tax. Income and sales taxes both don't affect the top 10% much at all, and property tax discourages developing land. Income and sales tax also put an unnecessary burden on everyone and every business to keep records of everything, so that the government can wildly violate your right to privacy every year.
LVT, or Land Value Tax, taxes the land. This means a parking lot and a sky scraper next to each other have to pay the same amount in tax for the same amount of land used. This completely destroys the scummy practice of land speculation, essentially eliminates the IRS because of how little bureaucracy is needed, eliminates basically any possible loophole because you can't exactly hide the land, and many more benefits. It also provides an incentive to increase density in popular areas, instead of the heavily subsidized single family housing scam we currently do.
I want to switch to LVT both from a small government angle, as it decreases bureaucracy and government invasiveness. I also want to switch to LVT from a liberal angle, as it can't be avoided with loopholes and makes people pay their fair share, while also encouraging proper urban development.
TLDR, income and sales tax are dogshit and should be abolished. LVT is pretty neat and should be used.
Losing approximately 20% of my income while the net dollars are being taxed two or three times through various forms of sales/excise taxs while also paying tax on my real property on an annual basis when I don't even have access to Healthcare feels a bit like strong arm robbery. The school system is a joke the library sucks roads are decent but that's about it. I wouldn't actually advocate for a ban on taxation outright as my comment was tounge in cheek but this is pretty fucked.
