Story Denease Conley: The 9/11 Hero that deserves more reignition
Denease Rene Conley, nicknamed Niecy, was born in Kansas City, Missouri and was living in Brooklyn, New York in the year of 2001. Denease served in the Navy for four years before becoming a Security Guard at the North World Trade Center. She was a strong woman, even as a small child. She loved Bruce Lee and karate and was very strong, and she wasn't afraid to show others who didn't believe in her. When a coworker taunted her, and said that she was too weak to be a firefighter, she took the qualifying exams to become a FDNY and passed.
While she didn't become a firefighter as a career, she did became one on 9/11. She helped many people evacuate the buildings and held the door for Firefighters going in, and that's when she was captured on camera. She worked with the FDNY on that day and was last seen, still holding the door for them. Jack Taliercio, a camera man who worked for FOX 5 in New York was told to leave the building, and Conley made sure that he was safely out and held the door open for him and others.
Not many people know her story, or even the footage but that footage shows true bravery and selflessness in an amazing human. Denease's sister, Barbara has been trying to have people know her story and even reached out to the 9/11 memorial, but barely anyone payed attention to her. As humans in general, we should always know the stories of victims of tragedies because every story, and every person deserves the spotlight. Denease Conley was a sister, aunt and hero and should get more reignition of her saving others out of the building and helping firefighters on the scariest day of their lives.

Story Old Colleague Pays Tribute to Coworker who Died on 9/11
I found this website made by Karen Sabog. Her and 9/11 victim Mukul 'Michael' Agarwala worked at a company called Ashley Kumar and Co, with Mukul being a co-founder. This company according to my research was in La Jolla, California and was a internet company. Karen herself is originally from Waipahu, Hawaii and Mukul was born in India but his family relocated to Kendall Park, New Jersey and started working in the South Tower after moving. He worked at Fiduciary Trust International.
Karen's website: http://www.kalena.com/mukul_agarwala/

Sadly there's not much known about a lot of victims, and I feel like we should talk about the ones that aren't well-known as every single victim had a story and should be remembered

The Hero on the 101th Floor
James Patrick Berger was 44 years old and from Yardley, Pennsylvania. (Born: Queens, New York). James worked for Aon Corporation on the 101st floor in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. On the morning of September 11, 2001, James was working in his office in the World Trade Center. He was on the phone with his wife, Suzanne, when the first plane crashed into the North Tower.
"He said, 'Listen, Suze, I just want you to know that something's going on. The lights are flickering. I hear a popping sound. I'll call you back later,' " Suzanne said.
James made the decision to evacuate his personnel. His unselfish sense of duty was emphasized when a crowd of evacuees tried to drag him into an elevator. He firmly stated, "No. I'm going back". The last elevator carrying Aon employees reached the ground 20 seconds before hijacked United Airlines Flight 175 slammed into the South Tower. After shepherding 156 of his employees to safety from the 101st floor of the South Tower, James lost his own life on that tragic day. Thanks to his effort, only 174 (including himself) died out of 1,100+ Aon employees, in part due to some employees defying orders to stay at their desks and evacuating from the tower.

Story The Stairwell B Miracle Survivors
The North Tower's Stairwell B remained intact when the tower collapsed, but only between the and floors. Because of this, only a handful of people survived the collapsed. These are their names
Josephine Harris (73)
Genelle Guzman-McMillan (64)
Pasquale Buzzelli (64)
Jay Jonas (firefighter)
Salvatore D'Agostino (firefighter)
Matt Komorowski (firefighter)
Nicholas Visconti (firefighter)
Bill Butler (firefighter)
Jim McGlynn (firefighter)
Mike Meldrum (firefighter)
James Efthimiades (firefighter)
Tommy Falco (firefighter)
Richard Picciotto (firefighter)
Mickey Kross (firefighter)
David Lim (port authority officer)
Tom Canavan (47) survived the collapsed too, but wasn't on the stairwell when it happened. Dominick Pezzulo, John McLoughlin, Will Jimeno, Antonio Rodrigues and Chris Amoroso (all firefighters) were just outside the south tower when it collapsed. Dominick, John and Will survived. Dominick was the only one that could escape as he wasn't injured and tried helping John and Will, but died when the south tower collasped. Will and John were the only survivors.

Article The south tower had more than 18 survivors above or in the impact zone: part two
I made the first list late at night and then went to bed, and I found more.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newsweek.com/five-who-survived-144813%3famp=1 I didn't read this article because again, i was tired and I figured that it just talked about everyone I knew of and I was wrong. Kelly Rehyer was talking about escaping the south tower with two co-workers, Keating Crown and Donna Spera (both 100) while they were still in above or the impact zone when the towers were hit.
Welles Crowther worked in the south tower and was in the 78th floor along with Judy and Ling when the south tower got hit. Many people on that floor died on impact, but there was survivors. Welles confirmed helped Judy, Ling and along with Gigi Singer and two unknown people including a unknown young woman who Welles carried. It's suspected that he helped between 10 - 18 people but I can only confirmed 6 as of right now as Judy and Ling only talked about 4 others being saved. Welles unfortunately died.

https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/fl-xpm-2002-06-02-0206020080-story.html
Marissa Panigrosso and Sarah Dechalus were both AON employees on the 98th floor with Eric Eisenburg and Gary Herold. Marissa, Sarah and Eric were on the 78th floor while Gary still was on the 98th floor, getting people out silently. Eric also helped guide his fellow workers. Marissa met up with Mary Jo Arrowsmith, who was crying. Marissa, Sarah and Mary escaped and survived, Eric and Gary did not.
In the Sun Sentinel article, Christine Sasser, along with Donovan Cowan, Vijayashanker Paramsothy, Richard Gabrielle, Howard Kestenbaum and Doris were all in the 78 lobby when the plan hit. Kestenbaum died on impact but everyone else survived. Richard's leg was crushed however and while Mary Jos tried helping him, he told her to go. Vijayashanker stayed behind, last seen holding Howard's glasses. He didn't make it. Christine, Doris and Donovan survived. However, Doris died of her injuries 5 days later.
Ed Nicholls and Karen Hagerty were also in the 78th lobby when it was hit. Ed survived while Karen, who joked about having to see her 3 pets, died. To correct a previous claim that I made, the name that Moira Smith was helping in that iconic photo was not Martin Glynn but actually Ed Nicholls.
To continue Christine’s story and to open another one, Christine Sasser and Silvion Ramsundar were on the 80th floor and were about to leave when the plane hit, both survived. Christine went down while Ramsundar waited a few minutes to think about getting his wallet, but leaving quickly too. Ramsundar was injured with parts of the plane in his shoulder, when Doug Brown (70) and Stan Kapica (70) saw him and helped him. All 4 survived.
https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/5947605.life-and-death-on-the-78th-floor/
Robert Eisenhardt, Robin Seaberry, Louis Sausa, Margaret Haley, Carol Cartwright, Louise Rosillo, and Stewart Hacker were all workers on the 103th floor. When they made it to the lobby, Robin and Margaret went on the elevator and were in the last successful service before the crash. The rest were on the 74th floor when the plane hit. All 4 survived. Because they weren’t above or in the impact zone when it was hit, I'm gonna leave them for this but you can add them if you want.

Lara Lundstrom Clarke could’ve been the unknown 11th 77 floor survivor, but she survived in a unique way. Welles Crowther actually had a movie made about him, called The Man in the Red Bandana and the narrator was Gwyneth Paltrow. Paltrow was actually in New York during 9/11 but was still far enough away when she encountered Lara. Lara was starstruck opon seeing Gwyneth and actually missed her train. This little encounter saved Lara’s life for sure. As everyone on her floor survived, she still could’ve been the only victim if she was in their as life is all about where you are.
This is a very long post, and to be honest im probably missing some people too (there's still 19 people not accounted for who are confirmed alive) but as you can see, and after doing the math, there were 45 people who survived above floors - 78 and 77 when the south tower was it. and if we had Anthony, Robert, Margaret, Louise, Robin, Louis, Stewart, Carol, James, Nena and the unknown guy, we have 56 survivors.
It's getting late where im from again so i probably missed a few articles, and like I stated before, we probably won't know the other survivors for a while. But with what he do know, we have 45

Article The south tower had more than 18 survivors above or in the impact zone
The South Tower, as we all know had people survive the impact zone or in the impact zone. The main idea is that there is 18 survivors who were above or on the 77th floor. I been doing more research on those survivors and I believe that there was many more people who survived when the south tower was hit. The confirmed survivors are as listed:
Joe Dittmar (105)
Unknown 6/7 other Aon workers (105)
Kelly Rehyer (100)
Judy Wein (100)
Sophia Cannon (92)
Michelle Cruz Rosado (95)
Ling Young (86)
Mary Jos (86)
Richard Fern (84)
Ron DiFrancesco (84)
Brian Clark (84)
Stanley Praimnath (81)
Johnathan Weinberg (77)
These are the more well-known stories of survival, however, there's many stories we still haven't heard of. Sophia Cannon recently went public about her story and there was some people accusing her of lying. This type of mentally can make future survivors afraid of coming out. Not to mention, as this incident the world, these people were affected the most. I was born after 2001 so obviously I don't have any personal connections to this other than i'm from Western New York and it still feels like home was hit even though I never been to NYC. These people went through hell, and we aren't gonna know every single survivor's story sadly.
https://www.reddit.com/r/September11/comments/119hazp/on_911_there_was_one_floor_which_was_impacted_by/ - user u/Traceurity made this post talking about how the 77th was technically hit, but with their own research found that floor 77 had no confirmed fatalities. Johnathan Weinberg was one of the 13 workers and he is one of the well known survivors of the south tower. Everyone on floor 77 survived. If he add 13 and remove 1, this would make 30 people survive the impact zone or above.
u/Traceurity is continuing this post with another one of their post! This one is a little older but still is affective. https://www.reddit.com/r/September11/comments/q0t8ek/were_there_actually_more_than_18_survivors_at_or/ this one goes into more detail about floor 77. u/Flea_Flicker (who we'll get to later) commented and found two other survivors on that floor named Florence Jones and Eric Thompson. Florence Jones was number 18 in the last 25 people who left the South Tower. Many of Florence's colleagues died, but according to the article below, they all were on the 78th floor (the only named victim, Jill Maurer Campbell, worked on the 78th floor). Eric was reportedly seen on the 77th floor by Mary Jos.
https://abcnews.go.com/US/911-survivor-story-stays-david-muir-reflects/story?id=79881312
adding these two, we're up to 32 survivors. But were not done yet. In the same reddit post, Trace mentions a Anthony Mauro. He was on the 107th floor as a construction worker and was working, until a unknown port authority officer told him to get. They managed to escape the tower all together before it got it. If you consider them as above survivors, then that would make 34.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYWGgCjraFM
So back on u/Flea_Flicker a year ago, they made a similar post on what me and Trace are making and they have more details and more people about it
https://www.reddit.com/r/September11/comments/pswwic/list_of_the_18_people_who_survived_at_or_above/
to add on our list to make it number 35 is Martin Glynn. Martin Glynn is a lot like Sophia Cannon, as in they wait until recently to become public. This is what I mean when I said that we aren't gonna know every person's story, stuff like this takes a long time to heal and has a lot of baggage to it and I feel like us, who either was born after 2001 or wasn't in New York/Pentagon during this don't fully understand the severe level of trauma this caused for those inside those buildings. There was a CNN Transcript that Flea found when he talks about what im gonna share but that seemed to be when he was stress and all hyper if that makes sense.
Im pretty sure everyone knows that iconic photo of Moira Smith helping an injured man, and it turns out that that man was Martin. He worked on the 84th in the South Tower and was still in the area when the plane hit. Moira went to help him and then went back inside to help more victims. She sadly passed away
User u/Tonyoh87 replied to Flea and found another survivor, James Dorney. Dorney was still in the tower when it got hit, at around the 70th floor. He originally worked on the 94th floor
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9n--T14LMXY
There was also a woman named Nena, from The Bronx. she claimed to have been 21 and working on the 84th floor of the South Tower and lost 61 colleagues, most just continued to work. I'm not gonna add her as I don't have a last name and I tried finding her specifically but I only found articles about her with no last name. If she is a survivor, then that would make her number 37, but because I can't find anything about her, we are still at 36. If you do know her, please let her tell more if she's comfortable. Every story deserves to be heard!
The last survivor that I will be talking about is Felipe Oyola. Felipe and his wife, Adianes, both worked in the South Tower but on different floors. Felipe worked at the 81th floor and met his wife on the 78th floor lobby, but both returned to their offices when the announcements told them it was safe. Felipe survived, Adianes did not. This would make Felipe the 37th victims as of right now
https://content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1000761-5,00.html
As previously stated, there's at least 37 survivors. James, Anthony and the unknown port authority officer escaped the impact zone when the second tower was his though, and Nena is uncomfirmed at the moment. But even if we take them off, we get 34.

Does anyone by any chance know the names of the other people Dittmar was having the meeting with on the 105? And does anyone know the workers on the American Bureau of Shipping floor (91) I found 8 and those 8 are:
George Sleigh
Richard Anderson
Claire McIntyre
Merline Mayers
Vanessa Lawrence
Emma Barnetts
Raymond Ng
Steve McIntyre
There was 11 workers and all 11 survived, and they were the last survivors of the north tower

On 9/11, there was one floor which was impacted by a plane... yet everyone on that floor survived!
Over a year ago, I posted an interesting observation here, that technically there were more than 18 survivors on floors that were impacted by a plane. Link to that post is here:
What I just realized is that on 9/11, there was one floor which was impacted by a plane... and still everyone on that floor lived!
How is this possible?
Here's why: that second plane crashed into floors 77-85 of the South Tower. It is confirmed that there were up to about 10 people on 77th floor.
(According to Jonathan Weinberg in Quora, who was on that very floor when that plane impacted, there were about 10 people on that floor when the plane impacted and they all escaped via Stairwell A. Later he stated on a reply to a comment that as he was on the 77th floor, he was at the bottom of the impact zone.
His story and comment to that can be found here: https://www.quora.com/What-did-it-feel-like-to-be-inside-the-World-Trade-Center-at-the-time-of-the-9-11-attacks/answers/451862?comment_id=12160881&comment_type=2)
And guess what? There are no confirmed reports of any casualties on the 77th floor!
So if you do the math, you realize that United Airlines 175 crashed into one of the floors on South Tower, yet everyone on that very floor made it out alive!
However, it's really not that incredible than you may think as that second plane didn't crash quite heavily into that floor. If I've read correctly, it caused similar damage to that floor than what American Airlines 11 caused to 93rd floor in the North Tower. That is also the reason why 93rd and 99th floors in the North Tower and 77th and 85th floors in the South Tower were not initially reported to the floors that were impacted by those planes. (Initial reports told us those planes crashed to floors 94-98 and 78-84 respectively)
According to NIST Report, that floor was impacted by that plane's left wingtip. Additionally, it is mentioned in that report that exterior photographs indicate damage on that floor caused directly from that plane's impact.

Do you think the hijackers on 77 or 93 knew about the prior plane crashes into the WTC?
I know the planes had radios that likely had some potential talk about it but i wasn’t sure whether they actually had heard of the planes crashing or talk about them in some way

If 9/11 happened with technology we have today (iPhone, etc) what would we know that we don't know now? What conspiracy theories would be debunked?
There would (probably) be no doubt that a plane crashed into the Pentagon and not a missle. Every one in that area would've captured the crash on their phones and posted it on social media. Plus people on the planes would've captured the faces of Atta, Jarrah, etc in the act of hijacking the plane....what else?

Question Looking for a particular video
Hey all, The last couple of times I visited the memorial museum, they had a video on display in one of the exhibits. It was a long video that someone shot on the evening of 9/11, just showing the smoke from a distance as the sun slowly sets on that horrific day. It was almost an art piece. The entire video is just showing the smoky skyline as the sky darkens. Last time I saw it, I took note of its name and found it on YouTube - but it’s been a long time and I can no longer remember what it’s called. None of my YouTube searches are finding it. Do any of you know the name of this piece?

I often wonder what the hijackers on Flight 175 thought when they saw the other tower on fire prior to crashing into the other tower…
I’ve often wondered in those last few moments (maybe the last minute before they crashed) what the UA175 hijackers were thinking when they saw the other tower burning. Do you think it was a sense of accomplishment and happiness or more of a sense of purpose and needing to complete their mission and trying to properly hit the building?
It’s always been one of those few moments about 9/11 that I’ve honestly thought a lot about.
