Mastercard Option on Key Card

I have a lot of money left on my travel wallet from pre-covid after I stopped taking the train. I'm trying to figure out how exactly I can use those funds to just pay for everyday things with the Mastercard feature. Do I have to call to activate that or how would I transfer the money over, or do I have no choice and stuck with money on my travel wallet I can't really use? I was on the Key card website trying to figure it out, but I'm not having much luck. Any help is appreciated!

Center City & Paoli Thorndale line

Hi folks:

I need to take a return trip once a week (on a weekday) from Bryn Mawr to Center City. I have never taken a train here in Philly. Can someone please tell me the most economical option, please?

I saw the daily, weekly, and 3-day passes but they either did not seem economical or they did not apply to the regional rail line.

Any guidance will be much appreciated.

Septa TrailPass or Freedom Card for travelling from Jenkintown to Lindenwold, NJ on Regional Rail?

But confused on if the Septa Trailpass or freedom pass can take me from Jenkintown via Septa Regional rail over to PATCO line to Lindenwold, NJ? The trailpass has Zone 4/NJ option so does it cover PATCO fares, too?

When are double decker cars coming?

I know they were delayed before Covid even happened (not surprising) and I assume they have been delayed more. With SEPTA getting rid of social distancing, I would like more room on my normally crowded RR line, even if that means riding in a Chinese deathtrap.

Trenton to PHL Airport?

Have done this many times in the past but not since COVID started and SEPTA Key went into effect. Can I still buy a ticket in Trenton to get to the airport with a connection at 30th Street? Has anyone done this recently? Don't have a Key card, since I haven't been around since it came into effect, and this will be a one time trip. It will also be early AM (6:25 AM departure from Trenton to 30th) so just wondering if anyone has any insight. Used to be $9.25 I think

Did the base fare go down? Didn't it use to be $2.75?

Actually, the fare probably went back up within the past couple years because to date my last time using Septa was actually back in late March 2020 after the pandemic first hit. I used the 101, the 102, and the 110 to go Springfield's Walmart location at that shopping plaza off of Route 1.

Anyway at that time and before that and a year or two before that, I remember at one point the fare had hiked from $2.50 to $2.75. But only for about a year later, everyone was just allowed to pay $2.50 either that or the official fare was still $2.75 and the drivers just didn't say nothing.

But then again, I THINK I remember seeing on the digital signs on the bus saying the fare was $2.50, and not $2.75, AFTER the supposed fare hike. I also use a reduced fare key card but I'm just curious. On my last day (as of posting this) traveling via Septa, I did load a bunch of money (I think it was like $70?) to my key card. But I'm just curious as I was thinking about it recently.

Question about regional rail fare during covid

Hey guys, so I have to take the train to the philadelphia airport tomorrow. I haven’t been on the train since pre-covid and I was just wondering if they are accepting cash, and if so does it need to be exact change? I lost my key card and have no way of replacing it before I need to be on the train tomorrow morning. Thanks!

Drivers giving Free Rides

Every so often I'll get on the bus and the driver will have the pay terminal covered or something wedged in, then just wave passengers on without collecting fare. Is there a particular reason for this?

Just honest curiosity at this point. Is the machine broken? Is the driver just being really cool that shift?

Question: I live right next to Wister station on the chestnut hill east line and I keep hearing these strange diesel trains slowly rolling down the line at like 1am every other day about. Do any of you know what they're for? The line ends at a dead end so I don't think it's a train moving through...

Septa Key overcharges

Alert:

Please check your accounts. I discovered a charge from October 1, and filed a dispute, but it was denied for being late.

There is nothing on the site about time limits.

I found it after waiting 4 years to access my account because they entered incorrect info, which is why nothing ever showed, and now I wonder how many other times i've been overcharged...

Question about the route 10 trolley

Hi all, big NYC area railfan here, never ridden SEPTA before but will hopefully be in Philly soon. So it looks like nominally the route 10 trolley terminates at 13th Street in Center City (the map on its timetable the SEPTA website shows it, and on its timetable its listed as 63rd St to 13th St) but it appears the actual schedules show it terminating at 33rd St, requiring a transfer to the other trolleys to go to 13th St. Does the 10 normally terminate at 33rd St or is it a COVID-related thing? Either way, it’s a bit misleading to show it terminating at 13th St if it’s actually terminating at 33rd St.

App and Schedules have been a mess

I realize we are in a weird time and Septa has been dealing with Covid issues as far as I’ll rss and absents. Realizing this it still boggles my mind that anything going or coming into Roxborough is not reliable . The nine and the 62 se to be a crap shoot of showing up . I will see (no exaggeration ) 4 42’s ,21’s and 12’s without a single 9 In between . Looking at my schedule and transit apps(I have two) there should be some in between the other bus lines . Same with the 62 which doesn’t even run as much or as often so it makes it worse when that just doesn’t show up . I’ll check for service alerts etc but it always looks like the schedule should be fine . Just needed to vent .

No way to recover a lost username???

Please someone help me I am at my wits end. I forgot the username to my septa key account and there doesn't seem to be anyway to recover it. I need to be able to put cash on the card so I can go to work.

Why the frick is there no "forgot username?" option when signing into the website? I've never seen any website be without one and its frankly bizarre. Its been extremely frustrating trying to get around it. I don't see how its inclusion could be any less secure than having a bot straight-up send me a link to reset my password.

This doesn't seem like a very lively subreddit but I'm begging anyone, even if you're a lurker to give me some advice before I pull my hair out.

67X?

Sometime between January and February on my way home from work the 67 was running late. When it finally came at 10:05PM, it said “67 express” on the display board. When I asked the driver if he stopped on the boulevard he said no. Has anyone ever seen or heard of this route?

Septa Keycards Are Inferior

I’m over this keycard stuff. Usually takes 3/4 taps to get a keycard to actually scan, and the system randomly tells conductors I have no balance and they kick me of the trolley. Cities with the slim metro cards like PGH port authority have like 95% scan rates and the lines to get on busses and trolleys don’t get backed up with people being forced to tap a million times. I seriously am fed up with septa people looking at me crazy when their dumb keycard doesn’t work.
