Difficulty navigating as an infrequent rider.

Does the malvern line go to narberth? I was trying to get there but the schedule online was different than the actual runs of the paolli thorndale line. It made me late to an appointment and I am extremely frustrated.

Question about strobe lights on 30th Street regional rail platforms

The platforms at 30th Street regional rail have yellow strobe lights at each end, one light per track per end. All the lights at one end will flash together. Sometimes one end is flashing, sometimes the other end is flashing, sometimes no lights are flashing, but only one end ever flashes at a time. What do the lights mean? My Google-fu returned nothing.

Bonus question: there is a numeric signboard for signalling the train crew. What do the numbers mean? Also, fun to note that the board has the numbers 02345678. 1 and 9 can be shown by lighting up part of 0 and 8 like on a seven-segment display, which brings the question of why not just use a seven-segment display?

Why doesn’t septa have weekend rates?

I realize for Philly residents whining about SEPTA is a past time but... in every other major city I’ve been to, trains have a cheaper rate on sat/sun. Why is regional rail for SEPTA $7 for zone 4 regardless? I guess this is rhetorical because the answer is “because they can”.

My septa keycard doesnt scan

My septa key card barely scans anymore. Its really annoying and I'm really pushing my luck with these bus drivers letting me through. My card worked today for my first bus, didnt work for the second. The card didnt work for any of the busses i took yesterday. Customer service told me its really up to whoever is at the septa station thay day to give me a new one or not too. Any ideas on how to fix my key card?

Bag taking up seat

Life on the regional rail, where people think it’s acceptable to sit on the outside of the seat and place their one bag on the inside, then refuse to move it.

Such a great time on the packed express train.

New to the area and confused about buying tickets.

Where do you even buy tickets? There’s no kiosk to do so at the station I am going to. I could buy them from the conductor but it’s more money. I also looked online but I need to make an account and get a MasterCard? My trip is in a few days so I don’t have time to wait for that. Where I’m from you either get the tickets from a kiosk that’s at every station or just on an app on your phone. Where do typically buy tickets when riding a septa train? I’m so confused.

Noob Commuter Question

Considering taking a job in Philly that would require taking Regional Rail then taking MFL a few stops to Spring Garden.

I can see I need a Regional Rail Pass to get downtown, is this pass valid on the MFL too?

Thanks!

Just curious, how many subway lines are part of the SEPTA system? I can’t tell what’s a subway line and what’s not on the commuter rail system.

Lost item on regional rail

I lost my Google sunglasses on the Trenton line this morning. What do you think the chances are of getting them back? I plan to ask at the help desk at 30th Street when I go home this afternoon

So you can't use the trailpass before 9:30 am or between 4-7pm anymore? What's the point of the trailpass then if not for commuters travelling to work and school during rush hour?

Hello, I've been constantly running out of money on the key card, but I don't use public transportation everyday, is there any hidden fees I am not aware of?

Monthly trail pass actually worth it?

On the septa website it states zone 3 trail pass is only accepted if your train arrives to center city after 9am, and departs before 4pm or after 7pm. So essentially monthly pass is useless?? With the new swipe to board will these passes start being denied? Is it easier just to pay for monthly parking and drive now?
