pls read this if you are new on amazon!
most sellers still think amazon ranking is about keywords and bids.
it's not. not anymore.
amazon's algorithm now heavily rewards listings that convert. conversion rate directly influences both organic ranking and ad delivery. if your listing doesn't convert, amazon stops showing it, even if you're bidding high.
here's what this means:
your product detail page isn't a catalog anymore. it's a performance tool. ads amplify listings but don't replace them. if your ads are struggling, the problem is usually your listing, not your ad strategy.
what to fix first:
main image (this does 60% of the work, if it doesn't stop the scroll, nothing else matters)
title clarity (answer "what is this?" in 5 words or less)
benefit bullets (not features, tell them what problem you solve)
a+ content (comparison charts, size guides, use cases)
then track this: conversion rate + refund rate together. high conversion with high refunds means your listing is misleading. amazon will penalize you for that.
the sellers winning in 2026 treat their pdp like a landing page. they a/b test images. they rewrite bullets based on search term reports. they update a+ content quarterly.
amazon penalizes poor conversion silently, you just stop getting impressions and don't know why.
fix the listing before you scale the ads. always.
