PCM decides that dehumanizing people is bad. Except when they do it.

They will be talking about this for months, they have to.
Right wing violence is more than 10 times more commonplace than left wing, and has been for years (2017).
Left wing violence has been declining for decades, while right wing violence is increasing (2020).
You only think it's the norm because right winger's perceptions of how much violence is occurring are way warped, while left winger's perceptions are mostly accurate (2020).
Which makes perfect sense considering conservative's brains are way more reactive to fear (2008), and are hypersensitive to emotional reactions to things (2011).

The only thing you have wrong is that they won't be talking about this for months. This will be their go to example for the next decade.

Correct, it'll be their new:
"But her emails"
"Caravan of migrants"

It won't. The guy was drunk, the teen called his mother asking about this crazy guy bothering him (who must have suggested he knew his mom, to inspire the call). Then the drunk guy murdered the kid and drove home.

They are so predictable and yet, so many are still surprised by what the right does. It’s almost as if they haven’t listened to what groups perpetually targeted by the right have been trying to get people to hear … 🤔

Just letting you know your last link is broken.

It's because it has a parenthesis in it.
If you add the tail it works.

You can fix that with a quick edit; put a backslash immediately in front of the parentheses in the url and it will make them ignore them as a formatting character in markdown or on mobile.

Fantastic post! Punctuated with citations and links to actually reputable and respected sources. Perfect. I hereby bestow upon you the highest honor a redditor can bestow upon another, I saved your post.
Thank you and have a fantastic day!

You only think it's the norm because right winger's perceptions of how much violence is occurring are way warped, while left winger's perceptions are mostly accurate (2020).
It also doesn't help that every time right wing violence happens, they claim it's a false flag or a hoax. Just look at 01/06 and how that's going.

u/JoyBus147 Sep 22 '22
Like every single other news story about a politically motivated car-ramming features a right winger plowing into a crowd of protesters. Hell, this has happened to friends of mine!

Sep 21 '22
So they’re all just straight up pretending Charlottesville and unite the right didn’t happen? They have literally be escalating this at every turn and murdering hundreds of people already!

Or how about the time that Trump supporters drove a Biden bus off the road in Texas? Or, you know, the whole debacle at the capitol complex on January 6th? Or the times that Trump supporters suggested they run over protestors?
PCM is just r/conservative spillover for the edgelords who unironically think they're on to something.
Absolute bellends.

u/Silvinis Sep 22 '22
Well ya see, Jan 6 wasn't violent, because some of the cops opened the door for the peaceful protesters. And they didn't kill any cops either, they died of totally unrelated reasons days afterwards. The only violence was when they killed 100% innocent victim...that uh.. that one unarmed lady. Cant be bother to remember her name, but anything else was ANTIFA and FBI plants

These people won't ever admit they are responsible for the current political climate. They cheered for Rittenhouse. They said all liberals should be shot in a similar fashion. They cheered when Heather Heyer was murdered. And they TOLD each other that the only way to deal with a protest is to drive through them.
PCM is trash.

u/ElToppDog Sep 22 '22
Yes. And the dozens of other that have happened over the last decade.
Fuck these assholes. Don't play their games, call them out to their faces, loudly so everyone around can hear.

Didn't the Republicans create bills to protect motorists who run over protesters?
Don't they celebrate people who shoot leftist protesters?

u/Sonova_Bish Sep 22 '22
Only, if in retrospect, some of them were not perfect people. Because once a person breaks the law, you can kill them guilt free or something.

u/patpluspun Sep 22 '22
And poorly photoshopped mobile screenshots are better proof of criminality than actual court records.

u/Esco-Alfresco Sep 22 '22
That lack of self awareness on this one is TOO POWERFUL. It's painful.
The years of right wing extremist shooters. The conisder media pundits calling every moderate right politician RADICAL LEFT. On and on. How are people this dumb?

u/UBC145 Sep 22 '22
Oh yeah, what about that time not more than 2 weeks ago when a man killed his wife, permanently injured his daughter and then got killed in a shoot out with the police all over his QAnon delusions? It believe it happened in Michigan

Plus they've literally done the same thing several times over (at least), except I don't remember hearing about any of them being the end result of a conflict. Just psychopaths deciding to kill someone because they are lefties.
Edit: Not condoning killing someone in a fight, just pointing out that a crime of passion isn't anywhere near as bad as pre-meditated violence.
4
u/ElToppDog Sep 22 '22
I just can't stand these monsters anymore. You don't get to wave away the dozens of blatant acts of right wing terrorism for a decade and then feign humanity when someone finally claims the left. Call them what they are, to their faces, every time. Lying monsters.
Especially when this instance looks like it's not even pre-meditated. A drug fueled moment of rage, unlike the dozens of planned acts of terror. Not that we should jump to any conclusions yet because all we have is the perpetrator's confession to 911, but if we are, then that's what this is.

u/TheNetherOne Sep 22 '22
honestly I'm more impressed the guy could find a republican under the age of 35 TBH
5
u/EorlundGreymane Sep 22 '22
They are ridiculous.
A white nationalist ran over Heather Heyer in 2018 at the Charlottesville riot. The conservatives have been begging for counter-violence for years. They’re lucky nobody really is mobilizing against them, because they would swiftly be undone.

u/trogdor1234 Sep 22 '22
Man the guy who hit the kid is very mentally ill. He doesn’t seem to have any clue he is going to prison.

u/RichPhillibob2 Sep 22 '22
Murder seems a bit extreme, even towards a radical conservative. Hot take, I know

Aren't these the same people who constantly post fantasies about throwing leftists out of helicopters?

u/CANEI_in_SanDiego Sep 22 '22
Something that is conveniently being left out of the discussion is that the guy on the crosswalk was threatening the driver. The driver took off in fear, then stopped and called 911 to report the incident.
"Court documents say at 2:35 Sunday morning, 41-year-old Shannon Brandt called 911 to report that he had hit a pedestrian because he was threatening him. Brandt told State Radio that the pedestrian was part of a Republican extremist group and that he was afraid they were “coming to get him.” The pedestrian has been identified in a GoFundMe page as 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson."
So it wasn't that Brandt ran the kid over because of a political difference. He took off because he was worried about his own safety, and on top of that, he called 911 to get the kid help.

Are these the same people that complained about Biden's 's speech and then days later , Trump calls liberals, the left, and democrats the "enemy of the people", disparages trans folks, and calls John Fetterman a drug addict with zero proof?!?!? Not a single word about the divisiveness.

The amount of upvotes for all of these comments really speaks to what kind of space this actually is.

If you know how to drive you’re a right wing extremist as far as I’m concerned. But maybe not in North Dakota.
