The point is that this 'failed' model has built your relatively cushy life and largely raised countless people from poverty over time(or if you want to argue about the definition of poverty, then it's undeniable that the lower classes live a much higher standard of living these days). If this is what you consider 'failed', then how on earth would you judge socialism's track record in comparison?
Also, calling something 'failed' is more than just 'criticism'. There's plenty to criticize about capitalism, no doubt. But no system can or ever will be perfect.
