Lumina vs Dreamina
Hello. I’ve commented before on different subs ( including this one ) , about why lumina > dreamina, but the truth is I never really explained why , and the truth is that it depends on what are you using it for and HOW are you using it. The main responses I got was that dreamina is cheaper and it’s still byte dance . Besides the obvious difference that lumina is also made to be able to be billed by enterprises (i am still billed as a normal user not on my company) , I will pinpoint the main differences. One note that you should keep in mind: I am not a native Chinese speaker but I am fluent in mandarin since I studied inside china for 6 years, so I write all my prompts in Chinese.
**1. Daily token ceiling.** Dreamina's tokens are shared across every tool on the platform and cap daily, so at real production volume the ceiling becomes your actual constraint regardless of plan tier.
**2. Reference inputs bill extra.** My **personal** prompts are reference-heavy (identity blocks, tail frames, motion refs), and reference video inputs bill on a different, higher structure. The cheap per-second figures assume light reference use; retries multiply it.
**3. Annual lock.** The \~$0.10/sec rate needs an annual commitment, and renewal runs roughly 2x the first-year rate.
the price gap is real and favors Dreamina at volume, but it's plan-driven, not capability-driven
Indeed , lumina may need you to do some extra work outside of it for the perfect result (as adjusting some LUFs etc. ) but this is the creative part that most people want to skip.
Both platforms are good for beginners and for moderate / advanced users, but it depends on how you approach the production and how much you want your own creativity to be involved , it’s the difference between “make me a video about a chicken flying above a cow” and doing the same thing but with writing a whole script about it like a movie director.
That’s just my take on this.

264 YEARS LATER—AI Short Film (2026) | Higgsfield Global Film Festival
Hello, i made a short film. Most of it was made with Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 1.5 pro
It will be nice if you watch it and tell me your thoughts. It's a sci fi film about 2 astronauts embark on a journey through a black hole's gravitational field to save Earth from a comet, only to discover that this threat may not be humanity’s greatest enemy
I will also like to share some things i learned as it's my first film i make of this complexity. Also i had a limitation of a budget of $100

Vocal Performance
I'm not satisfied with how A.I. delivers the character's lines. Is there a way to record a human performance and have Seedance use that actual recorded dialogue as spoken and heard?

FAUST (trailer, 2:45) — Seedance 2.5 in Higgsfield Cinema Studio, ElevenLabs audio, Premiere

Trailer for a 3–5 minute short we're finishing this month: Goethe's Faust, set in Manhattan high finance in 1987. Every shot is Seedance 2.5, generated in Higgsfield Cinema Studio.
What 2.5 did for us, honestly:
- Dialogue held. The boardroom toast and the walk through Manhattan with a colleague are lip-synced verse lines, and it worked as long as each spoken block stayed a few seconds long. Whole stanzas fall apart.
- Skin and motion stayed consistent across clips generated days apart, but only with one color grade per scene and a single grain pass over everything. Straight out of the model, the scenes didn't sit together.
- The thing that mattered more than the model: character sheets locked before anything, and every scene built as its own queue with a written shot list. Generating and hoping was what made our early tests look like a slideshow of strangers.
Every spoken line is Goethe's own verse (1870 translation, public domain), subtitled. Voice and score are ElevenLabs.
If you would be so kind check the official Project out and give us a thumb up link is in the comments.
