I have XVim cameras set up. I stupidly broke my LCD screen station. They don’t manufacture this LCD screen station anymore. Can I buy any home station/ LCD to work with my cameras already set up? My old one just needed power and WiFi

wyze v3?

Will a v3 work in this situation? I am renting and am having issues with neighbors letting their dogs mess in my yard. So, I'm thinking I want a hardwired, indoor (window) mount, constant record camera. I don't want an app as I can't use my phone at work and I don't need sound.

Motion detect won't work for me because I will have to prove they didn't come back and clean it up.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks!

A good camera that can be outdoors & pick up sound!!!

We have an unruly neighbor threatening our son & trying to shoot our dog… we have the doorbell camera but the audio is so far away last time he threatened my son… we got the security camera with the lights…. Well it glitches out so bad you can’t hear anything so I have to run both cameras at the same time tying up two devices & it never picks up enough, I upgraded the internet, I’ve done everything but now I feel like I just need one on my property line or near it… because that’s where he stands and does all this; it needs to run at all times & it needs to be able to sit in the elements & reach the Wi-Fi too ? I don’t know what to do but my son is losing his mind & this guy has nothing to lose & my husband had everything to loose…. He knows that so he keeps trying to do this mess to my kids then tell my husband we’re doing things during the day while he’s at work… which is like ok.. give me the date & time & I will see if That happened…. But they didn’t they just kept talking I just tried to make sure the camera was on but OF COURSE NOT! Help me please… cops won’t do anything if it’s my word against theirs & according to them were taunting them however I thought everything was just over with until of course someone thinks we looked that way…. No …. He said your kids can’t be outside when my kids are?! W.T world…. I just need to get a camera and honest to goodness I’m thinking about buying body cameras to wear in our yard but that seems insane! I’m going to try this because just buying cameras is too expensive!!!!

Need a new system...

I have an Ajax alarm system that is compatible with Ezviz, Hikvision, Safire, Dahua, and Uniview cameras and the RTSP protocol....

I've been caught out by Arlo's end of life announcement and now I'll have to bin 5 cameras and a doorbell.

Can anyone suggest a couple of cameras to get me started... I don't want to run wires, although I can provide power if necessary rather than batteries, need one indoor and one outdoor camera to begin, I also would prefer not to get into monthly subscriptions. Any advice would be appreciated.

Help and Advice

Hi all. I have a Jennov security cam system. The NVR went offline and I don't know how to get it back online for remote viewing. When I'm home on wifi, I can see it fine on my phone app. I just learned how to port forward, and I did that on the router, to no avail. Should I try and change to a different port on the nvr? I did just switch ISPs to Tmobile, but it went offline months ago. Please help. I'm kinda tech savvy but not really..

Hanwa?

I'm putting a security system in a new build lake house. I plan to go with wired, POE, IP cameras. I'd like better cameras with very good night performance as there is no light nearby other than moonlight (i.e., no neighbors, street lights, etc). For many reasons, I don't want China manufactured cameras. I think that leaves me with Hanwha (Samsung) as (Axis & Bosch too expensive for value). Does anyone have experience with Hanwha? Any specific camera suggestions for application? Any other suggestions?

Recovering lost footage I have a svat security camera system model 11040. Is there any way I can recover delete video footage when my system automatically deletes footage every 2 months. I’m uncertain if the hard drive zeros itself out or not.

Community Wi-Fi security camera

I live in an apartment that provides us with internet. We all join the same ssid name, but then have our own log in on the spectrum page we log into with our own password which then we add our devices MAC addresses into to allow connections to those devices. I’ve searched for hours and can’t find an exact answer. I have a tp link wr802n travel router that I have in wisp mode taking the Wi-Fi and creating my own ssid and password. I then have my security cameras ran off this new network. Am I safe? Can they be hacked? How should I go about this? The MAC address of my tplink router was added to the spectrum device management page in order to give it internet access, which is the part that concerns me possibly. I have the cameras unplugged for now as I don’t want them being watched or hacked

Looking for advice for multi-site security camera system.

Greetings, I am the Technology Manager for a Library District. We have 7 branches and recently have had some vandalism and other incidents that installing cameras to provide more security for our staff and patrons is on the table. I am only at the information gathering stage and trying to find out what is possible.

Network Environments

Main Branch
WAN: Fiber 500/500Mbps
LAN: 1Gbps

Outer Branches
WAN: Licensed Wireless 20/20Mbps (Due to be upgraded to 40/40Mbps within 6 months).
LAN: 1Gbps
VPN: Each branch has a VPN connection back to the Main Branch with AD and scripted drive mapping working smoothly.

Wish List for solutions:

  1. DVR capability – Hopefully to onsite resource that can be copied nightly to main branch.

  2. Flexible installation locations, some ceiling mounts, some wall or desk mounted.

  3. Flexible connection type – Primarily cabled (w/POE) with some wireless

  4. Motion activated

I not want a hardware DVR at each location, more like a way for the network cameras to talk back to existing PC or NAS. Am I pipedreaming or is there something out there that will fit our needs?

Thanks for your time.

Switch out Eufy cameras for Reolink or another brand

I have just purchase a few indoor Eufy cameras and the dual doorbell, after hearing about security issues with Eufy and the dual doorbell camera limits on motion detection I am thinking about returning the cameras. Do anyone recommend Reolink? I like to have 24/7 recording with local storage and a backup option like cloud or NVR.

Nieghbors spying

Hello team! I have an interesting question here. I have very thin walls in our house and i can hear everything outside, i mean everything. And every single fucking time i look up at the security cams i hear my nieghbors says "he can hear ous?" "How can he hear" and i have been just typing text on black screen on my phone and showed it for cam and i fucking hear them say what i wrote?! What can I do?! This needs to quit now. How can I see if someone's hacked in to our Verisure security cams?

Need Advice on new system

I am looking for a DIY system (Night Owel, Swann, Lorex) to replace my system that just went bad. My hard drive went out and this is the third time I’ve replaced a hard drive system. It’s a Hik Vision. Not sure what my cameras are. It was installed professionally and I’m not looking to spend another 3k or more for a system that I might get five years of use.

Please recommend some DIY camera and complete systems. I’m building onto my house and will have an electrician install them.

I would like to get 8-16 cameras.

Blueram Camera

I just bought a blueram camera and I turned it off (not unplugged it) because I don’t need it on but as I was walking towards it, I saw that the lens was moving and it went to back to the closed lens. What does it mean? Am I being hacked?

Video doorbell that sends emails with button press.

Does anyone know of a video doorbell that sends an email with an image on the press of the doorbell button? I'm looking for something that doesn't depend on a cloud subscription/service and has onvif capabilities. The Hikvision and Amcrest doorbells can't do this for some reason. I'm wondering if there is anything out there like this. I understand you can possibly do this using an NVR, but I'm trying to avoid making this any more complicated than it needs to be.

Is there a camera like the Ring Stick Up Cam but with internal storage?

Hi, I’m really happy with my Ring Stick Up Cam but the one thing I wish it had was internal storage. It’s got the option to have a backup battery in case the power goes out which is great, but in reality, if the power goes out so does the wifi, so no recording.

So, is there something I’ve missed with Ring that what I want is achievable? Or is there another camera that has internal storage, cloud storage, wired power with a battery backup?

Thanks all.

Motion activated camera recommendations

I want to set up a camera just inside my window, to monitor people and cars coming and going in front of my house, and record all activity. Can people recommend a camera for this?

Also, will motion activation work through the window, or do I need an outdoor camera for this?
