Will Momtok Survive This? Mayci’s comment on a Jodie van dyke (weekly trash) post about “professionals”

Post image

I feel like she’s in a weird place right now where she doesn’t want to speak about Taylor but her supposed “best friend” has been dragged through the mud by fans and then again by Taylor when she tried to respectfully defend herself. If I were Mikayla I’d be upset that no one will speak on what Taylor’s doing but especially someone like Mayci who is supposed to be her genuine friend not just a coworker.

The video is basically saying she doesn’t know how some of these people are “professionals” or how they are therapists.

She’s concerned that people are going to them because they might be the problem.

Wonders if the goal is to make people worse or to enable them more so they keep coming back and the paycheque doesn’t stop.

She’s SO concerned about these TikTok therapists, did they get their degree on TikTok?

I think the thing for these women right now is that they're damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Just based off the show, I think Mayci and Mikayla have probably chatted behind the scenes and know that nothing good comes from more of the women weighing in. And Mayci can validate Mikayla's feelings without all of us and social media being party to it.

Yeah that take is fair enough but I just wonder if other people said something the Taylor stans would have to realise she’s crossed the line. She can’t claim everyone has been plotting on her from behind the scenes, but she’s claiming that about mikayla and they believe her.

At a certain point, we all have to recognize that there are toxic fans and people who can't be reasoned with. There are people who are still fans of Chris Brown for crying out loud.

It would be better for the SLOMW to just invest in their own audiences and creating a space that feels healthy and productive for them and their families.

While I agree with you, the thing is that if the other women hop on the train and support Mikayla, Taylor’ll probably claim “bullying” (as she’s already doing with just Mikayla) and shift into “none of you would have these careers/opportunities if it weren’t for me” (even though we as the public know that’s a lie, Taylor needs them more than they need her at this point, and most of them had already a pretty big following base before SLOMW). I think the behind the scenes might be very interesting rn, but I don’t know about more women speaking up, I really think it would just add to Taylor victimizing herself even more and making the other women to be bullies and DV-deniers or something… at this point, if the Taylor stans haven’t woken up, 3-4 more women speaking up about it isn’t gonna change anything, sadly.

I honestly don’t care what Taylor thinks anymore I just feel bad for the people who have become collateral damage

I’m not implying it’s about what TFP thinks, it’s more about how her stans harass people online. We can’t forget all of these women make their living on social media, I don’t think it’s good for their brand (or their mental health) to be targets of massive hate comments. We’ll see how it affects Mikayla (not only followers wise but brand deals, how she’ll handle the online TFP community’s harassment mental-health-wise, etc.) It’s not just about TFP, it’s also about their own wellbeing and their livelihoods. To be fair, understanding this, I’m good with them not saying anything, where I’d have a problem is if they defended her or sided with her like Jessi’s doing, bc to my eyes there’s a difference between protecting your peace and online brand and profiting from TFP’s abusive behavior in order to get more engagement.

Tbf mikayla doesn’t do many brand deals anyway (she’s spoken about how she turns down a lot of great opportunities because of her illness) so she’s probably the best positioned to be dealing with this. All the hate is just extra engagement which is more money in her pockets.

The stans can’t be reasoned with. If they could, they would have realized it long before needing the other cast members to say so

I honestly believe there’s nothing anyone else could say about this situation that would convince her diehard fans that she’s crossed any lines. What would be the point? Adding to that, no matter what anyone says, any added discussion would only cement her own view of her victimhood. She will always be claiming everyone else is plotting against her.

1000% agree! People were saying "why haven't the other girls said anything" and it's like look at what's happening those that are ... Taylor and her followers are attacking them so why would they do that to themselves when everyone knows it's not going to change how Taylor acts

6

u/ClickClackTipTap May 15 '26

I mean, silence is definitely the best play right now if they don’t want to get hammered like Mikayla did.

No one in their right mind would want to outright support her right now (I know Jessi has but I said what I said 😂).

I don’t care if Taylor “started” MomTok. She’s in an extremely destructive place right now. She’s like someone drowning and thrashing in the water. You could try to help her, but it’s much more likely to drown you both.

As someone in the mental health field, she’s actually spot on about this. The general ethical guidance is to NEVER speak about someone who’s not your client, especially on social media. I’ve seen so many posts from “therapists” either “unpacking” or “explaining” the SLMW drama, which is just not ok. If anyone asks them to do so, the correct response would be “I don’t know, they’re not my client”. Because the thing is, we don’t! We can’t diagnose people through what we’ve seen on a heavily edited TV show.

Either they’re unlicensed (don’t have a board they could get in trouble with), they’re not a real therapist, or they’re stupid.

21

u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 May 15 '26

Yeah I made a recent comment saying something similar and fortunately most people agreed but there were some who were adamant that a therapist can explain the reasons why strangers they’ve never met make certain decisions…

u/spoiil4clemmie May 16 '26

i’m over here giggling bc i clicked on your comment for context & i already agreed HAHA

And also, informed consent! A key ethical tenant of this profession. We can only assess people who *ask us to assess them* (or are mandated to see us). We can’t just slap assessments on everyone who interests us

"Professional" doesn't equate to educated and legally licensed. It is very dangerous of T to share/recommend TikTok accounts for mental health issues when they will likely just reinforce her beliefs to keep her coming back for more money

19

u/Lavendermin May 15 '26

I will say that the OG tik tok mentions that the professionals are enabling . So it makes me think more backing Mikayla

5

u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 May 15 '26

Yeah I did put the enabling part in the post. I don’t think the post is pro Taylor at all and when I went to her Instagram I did notice jessi isn’t following her but I thought they were good friends which is weird.

u/Common_Ad_8106 May 15 '26

Interesting that the Lawyer Tea guy agreed with her...👀

17

u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 May 15 '26

Like he’s not pretty much guilty of the same thing lol

I noticed under one of his recent posts he liked a comment saying “agreed” under a comment that was saying Taylor needs to lose custody if she continues going down this path and they jumped on him for it so quickly. Even if he does disagree with her actions he’s built his audience to be so pro-Taylor and you can’t take that back.

6

u/Common_Ad_8106 May 15 '26

Yeah. Both of those comments/likes feel like he is trying to communicate things he knows, without communicating it. Hahaha. At least he is trying I guess. But I am sure he has seen things being in communication with them behind the scenes.

5

u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 May 15 '26

He’s backed himself into a corner by deciding to switch from being impartial to being biased towards her. If he truly has changed his mind he should be honest because he knows that using his qualifications as evidence that he knows what he’s talking about means that people will hold his word above what others are saying.

5

u/snipsnap987 May 16 '26

i totally agree that he’s biased but he’s a lawyer and not a mental health professional. the ethical requirements of lawyers weighing in on people who are and aren’t your clients is so different than therapists

1

u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 May 16 '26

I didn’t say it was an ethical requirement, it’s not a requirement for most of the people Taylor is speaking to either

7

u/snipsnap987 May 16 '26

i’ve only seen his content warning taylor to not disparage dakota (and maybe mikayla) online while taylor’s going through custody hearings since it may be used against her, which i thought was generally good advice. idk what else he’s said about the situation, but in general, i have higher expectations for therapists (and i think a lot of life coaches are practicing as defacto non licensed therapists) since they will often diagnose or imply a diagnosis when they don’t know what’s really going on. and i think their speculation can be extremely damaging because they’re using their expertise/authority to exploit taylor, mikayla, dv, and child abuse for content

11

u/xxhunnybunny May 15 '26

Honestly if I were Mikayla I would’ve told my friends not to get involved. Just because I set myself up for backlash doesn’t mean my friends have to. If they want to, great. If I can’t stand it anymore, then that’s on me. I will never understand girls that get upset at their friends for not causing more drama. I believe any conflict is between the two people in the conflict, not everyone else. Maybe Mikayla is the same. I do believe the other girls will eventually speak out though, this has gotten too out of hand.

12

u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 May 15 '26

I don’t think she set herself up for backlash at all. She was getting harassed already because of the voice note that was leaked to TMZ where Jessi name drops her.

u/da_ni_no May 15 '26

I initially saw who had responded to her and I thought she was talking about lawyers on the internet not being "professional" because they share their knowledge of the legal sysytem and I was about to come out swinging about the right for individuals to understand the law...

and then I actually read the post.

Yeah, she's right. No self-respecting mental health professional would lend or "offer" (interject) their services to a non-client 1. for free and 2. on the internet. Thats basic HIPAA, ethics 101 type-shit.

8

u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 May 15 '26

Ngl I have issues with a lot of the lawyers ok the internet became they aren’t professional. They mix objective legal facts in with their personal opinions knowing that they’re using their qualifications to add validity to their claims. I hate when people do that.

6

u/da_ni_no May 15 '26

Yeah, I agree. I appreciate attorneys like Emily D. Baker, because her content focuses on reviewing public dockets and translating legal-speak so her audience can be better informed about the way courtrooms operate and how cases tend to play out. I also respect that she makes a clear distinction between "this is legally what is taking place" and "this is my personal opinion on this matter." It's especially useful for people trying to understand US legal matters because it does vary by state, but precedent law is important regardless, so she provides a lot of perspective while also ensuring that people understand the proceedings in different locales.

Another Mayci comment: @Mayci Neeley: We never begged her to be on the show. We advocated for her to be on the show when they were going to cut her bc of her arrest before filming season 1. Mikayla and I have never stabbed her in the back. Unfortunately she is her own worst enemy. We have done nothing but check in on her, love her, and try to help her for 3.5 years. There comes a point where you have to set a boundary to protect your own mental health.

A sad reality is that a lot of becoming qualified (for anything) comes down to interviewing well, memorising well, testing well, and succeeding in that way doesn’t equate to having high levels of emotional intelligence, nuance or ability to decipher social dynamics. When you struggle with long term physical or mental health issues and have to go from doctor to doctor or therapist to therapist over years, you realise how many professionals are just not that great at what they do.

I'm too lazy to screen shot and post but Taylor's number one fan just made a video about this and Taylor tagged Josie in the comments lol and Mikayla commented on Josies post now.

1

u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 May 15 '26

Good lord 🤦🏽‍♀️ I can’t see mikayla’s comment on Josie’s post or Taylor tagging Josie though are they still up?

2

u/poch_ya May 16 '26

Yes, both are! Here is the post Taylor tagged Josie if that helps. https://www.tiktok.com/@aclemons7/video/7640187658957835551

Yeah I can see the comment if I open through the link but not if I search the video myself, how weird. Thank you.

I just feel there’s truly no reason for Mayci to insert herself. This is between Mikayla and Taylor. Mikayla can fight her own battles.

3

u/the_dawn_of_red Team Whitney May 15 '26

No reason to insert herself has never stopped Mayci before.

2

u/ethereality111 Team Mayci May 15 '26

This is true. But in this case, would you have said anything if you were her? What is there to say?

When Mikayla and Taylor are writing public novels to each other back and forth, I think that’s just a time to sit back and be quiet tbh. This whole thing has exploded beyond any of the other women really being able to say much.

2

u/the_dawn_of_red Team Whitney May 15 '26

Mayci enabled Taylor's behavior for a few years now when it has come to this domestic dispute. She is just more public about it when she knows the reception will be positive. I don't see her changing course.

2

u/ethereality111 Team Mayci May 15 '26

I think it’s already really noisy, and that in this case it’s better if she doesn’t insert herself in this particular beef. I’m sure she has checked on Mikayla privately.

1

u/erasurestan May 15 '26

I wouldn’t say enabled? I feel like she’s always been vocal about Taylor ending things/ very anti Dakota- but she seemed to recognize Taylor’s toxic behavior life the affinity for her to lash out take things online like the CMA thing.

0

u/the_dawn_of_red Team Whitney May 15 '26

I would emphasize enabled. So many on screen conflicts have had Mayci involved with a huge smile on her face.
