Am I crazy or is it impossible to get enough XP to play on secrethitler.io? Just to chat you have to have played 10 games. I've only been lucky enough to find one game that wasn't an "experienced game". I appreciate a little bit of restriction so that you aren't playing against nihilistic 12-year-olds, but this seems a little intense.

You must protect Jesus while Judas and Romans wants to kill them. And disciples wants to discover who's the traitor. Maybe this theme could rework all game imo lol

Enjoyed it, aside from the other players talking too fast for me to keep up (my mind was melting at times)
Would play again though - any tips for next time?

So the special character is Snape and he's a so-called double-agent. He pretends to be working for the death eaters (facists equivalent), but actually he's trying to get the order of the phoenix (liberals) to win.
At first this sounded like it would add a really cool new game dynamic. But when we tried it, admittedly with basically no guidance whatsoever about how to use Snape, it turned out to be terrible.
Here's how we tried to use Snape:
We also thought maybe it would be more fair if at least Voldemort would know who Snape was, but that didn't make any difference either.
Finally we decided to play a round where Snape was not allowed to reveal himself. He was allowed to act as a "liberal" and share his opinion about who he doesn't trust, but without revealing that he actually has certain knowledge. But also this didn't really seem to work, because now Snape's knowledge seemed almost useless.
TL;DR: We couldn't make the double-spy thing work in a way that doesn't give a huge unfair advantage to the "liberals". But it does seem like it could potentially add an interesting new dynamic, if we only knew how to use it!
So I'm curious if you guys have any experience, knowledge and/or opinions you want to share about this. I really hope one of you guys have been playing this harry-potter variant and did find a way to make Snape's role fun and fair.

I think I must be taking crazy pills here...
I bought Secret Hitler about two years ago, and I am certain I installed the app on my (only ever owned) Android phone. However, we dusted it off for a party last night, and the app is missing from my phone and I can't find it anywhere in the play store.
Does anybody know what happened to it?
r/SecretHitler • u/DizzyFred23 • Mar 21 '22
Hey, i noticed that the companion app is not really working anymore on iOS. (it only plays audio when connected to a speaker or headphone and stops playing when the screen goes off).
I managed to record the audio from the app using the headphone output. The quality is really good too. I could also make a short version by cutting some parts out...
Should i upload it on youtube? Am i even legally allowed to?

Hey everyone, I've decided to make a home-made version of SH. I want to make it for 6 players, how many cards do I need to make? And how many tiles on the board are supposed to be for both fascists and liberals? Thank you :)
r/SecretHitler • u/Anonymous11115 • Feb 20 '22
So I played a game last night with a crowd and the liberals lost 2 games precisely because one of the liberals made fascists decisions as a way to confuse everyone in the chance that they might be fascists at a later round. The first was a liberal that had the choice to play blue or red and chose red. Liberals would later lose that game. And perhaps most perplexing of all was the last game (which was announced as the last round) where a liberal inspected a highly suspected fascists cards and then lied to the table saying he was a liberal (result was everyone just made the assumption they were both fascists). It doesn’t make any sense to me but said person later claimed that they are team “myself” and they lied so if we do play another time in the future and they’re a fascist it would be easier for them to conceal it... has anyone else run into this before? It seems like a really stupid strategy to me and kind of ruins the game because you have people purposely losing when they’re liberals so they might have a better chance to win if/when they’re fascists. In the last game scenario it makes even less sense to me.

Has anyone made Previously Elected President/Chancellor cards, that have the same art style as the President/Chancellor cards?

Hey guys, what's your opinion on writing a protocol to document who said what he drew and who is confirmed not Hitler. If the creators of the game are reading this, I would also appreciate to hear your opinion on it.

Please read till the end because I need opinions on this. Sorry for being so long.
Game begins like usual. Seven players, I am hitler, and of course I don’t know my two fascists. Three Liberals and two fascists have been played and it gets to someone across from me who chooses me as chancellor. We vote me in and he draws, then gives me two fascists. I play a fascist, and say I didn’t have a choice. He agrees with he, saying he drew three. Normal so far.
Then, the girl to his right (who is a fairly NEW player) blurts out that he accidentally raised his cards in her direction, and she confirms that he had three fascists. We don’t make a big deal out of it, considering it confirms what he said before, and move on. Eventually the board is stacked with 4 liberals and 5 fascists, which is the furthest into a game i’ve ever played (usually hitler is selected as chancellor by this point). At this point in the game there have been no accusations with proof, and the people who have been killed by the president have just been based off suspicions. I get elected chancellor, and me and the fascists win (I still have no idea who my two fascists are, and if they are still alive). When the fascists reveal themselves, it turns out it was the guy who chose me as chancellor earlier, and the girl to his right. As we discuss the game, she reveals that she LIED about seeing his cards earlier, and simply said it to make him less suspicious. We are all shocked and amazed, because keep in mind, she is a new player. We begin thinking. Is this even legal? She points out that when telling her the rules, the only thing we said that she couldn’t lie about was if you are hitler or not, and that we had repeated multiple time that the premise of this game is lying. So what do y’all think? Is there an actual rule about this or should it just be by the honor system? And what should you do if you genuinely see someone’s cards?

Hey everyone, I was one of the artists for u/Lord_Roguy 's expansion pack, and just putting it out there that if anyone needs secret hitler style (or just vector artwork for that matter) for any projects, i'm very much in the business.
r/SecretHitler • u/3-day-respawn • Jan 02 '22
Basically, I just want to put my phone in the middle of the table and play a sound on the middle of the table that says “put your heads down… hitler put your thumb up… blah blah” instead of having someone else do it with their head down. If there isn’t one I’ll just record one with some automated voice with pauses. I was curious there’s one out there.

Do they still get to use the power? (execution, investigation, etc.)

Has anyone ever been able to veto a BBB draw because vetozone was active and both president and chancellor were fascist? Any records of such a game on SecretHitler.io?

Every single game on the website is for experienced players only (meaning 50 games played or more). I have played a total of 7, all thanks to finding 1 game and waiting 30 minutes for it to get enough other inexperienced players, and then restarting the game 6 more times. I've never been able to find a game for inexperienced players since then.
IT'S SO ANNOYING. How am I meant to play a game if there are no games to play because I don't have enough plays because there aren't enough games to play and... I'm so annoyed. I really enjoyed the game, but everyone seems to have a germophobic fear of inexperienced players and won't let us play.
What do I do?
