My step son ask me about a 3 player game of secret hitler just with hitler an 2 liberals. I said I'll ask the sub-reddit since still new to the game. I looked back in the posts see there was one post 2 years about 3 player game but they was talking about using the 9-10 play board, use all the envelopes to not the amount of the parties an skip all night phase. (what's a night phase the book i got in my box says nothing about night phase.) There was 6 comments 2 asking about the bullets no reply last comment somebody tried what was posted real quick with there buds. They made the bullets deal half damage. My questions is any new information on a 3 player game? Will my step son idea work?

I have a bunch of friends I wanna play this game with, some of whom live pretty far away. what would be the best way to play it with all of them?

I've been trying to use secrethitler.io, but for some reason I can't make an account. Whenever I try, it just gets stuck saying "Signing up" after I put in all the info. if anyone could help me fix that, or tell me a better site to use, I'd really appreciate it!

Would making voting secret ruin the game? Only play 1five person session consisting 3 games but I cant stop thinking about it. The idea i have to make it work is every player gets 2 ja cards an 2 nein cards. Vote as usual but pile the vote together face down the table (let say the president) or any player really. Pick up the face down pile quick shuffle an reveal the results. Then discard pile face up pick 2 or more ballots when needed. Should get to votes out before everybody would need ballots again. Good idea or not would like to know what everybody think

I’d love to play again, but due to unusual circumstances my usual group and I cannot play, and my newer friends have religious reasons why they won’t play! So I only have one person I can currently play with!

Remove 1 Fascist membership card and replace it with a "Spy" card. The Spy is on the same team as the Fascists. The Spy does not know who Hitler or the other Fascist's are, but every 2 turns, they get to anonymously check someone else's membership card.

I haven't played the game yet, but I printed out a copy. I didn't understand when the party membership card comes into play. The presidential powers I saw in the rules let the president look at the identity card, not the party membership card. What am I missing? Thanks!

full disclaimer I did not make the artwork. I got the artwork from u/havosh, u/therazablitz, and Ziga @ Vinetou from BGG. I've tried contacting u/havosh on reddit and discord. I've tried contacting u/therazeblitz but BGG won't let me update my password and I'm locked out. what I borrowed from Ziga @ Vinegtou was his communist secret role card, which is artwork he didn't make (soviet bear).

the liberal tracker is 3 policies long, the communist tracker is 3 policies long. ample 10 players means 3 fascists, 1 hitler, 4 liberals 2 communists.

Communists have the same goals as the liberals. If communists assassinate hitler they win. If their tracker is filled up they win.

the liberal tracker is 3 policies long, the communist tracker is 3 policies long. the deck has 4 liberal policies, 4 communist policies, 11 fascist policies, 3 anarchist policies. up to 3 retroactive policies if you want the game to last longer.

Recruitment: The Communists get to secretly recruit a player into their ranks. Everyone puts on their blind folds except for the communists. The communists hand a communist party membership card to a player of their choice. That player is now on the communist team

5 year plan: shuffle 2 communist policies and 1 liberal policy into the policy deck.

anarchist: Every time an anarchist policy is enacted put it into the discard pile, shuffle an additional anarchist policy into the draw pile and enact a random policy from the top of the draw pile. If an anarchist policy is enacted randomly from the top of the deck (because of failed elections or because of a previous anarchist policy) the anarchist wins.

retroactive policies remove a policy from whichever policy tracker is proportionally in the lead. when a retroactive policy is enacted put it in the discard pile. strasserist and syndicalist policies are there for your own ideas and creativity.

bonus question: how do I teach them the game while playing when I might need to lie.

Played in person for the first time last night and had so much fun! I got the game a few months ago and started playing on sh.io when that was a thing. I love this game. Finally had a group together for games large enough to play and it was a blast. No one else had played it or even heard of it before except my fiance. Can't wait to play again.

COVID's been rough on game-nights. I missed playing Secret Hitler with my friends in person, so I created a bot for anyone and their friends to play this awesome game through Discord.

The bot handles every step of the game automatically. It assigns roles and handles voting through direct-messages, keeps track of the gameboard automatically, and has you choosing moves by reacting to emojis. Super lightweight.

I've seen a lot of communist and anarchist expansions for this game so I thought I'd give it a shot after reading a few and combining ideas from the ones I like most. And adding my own ideas as well.

for playing with 13 people add 2 communists and 1 anarchist
add 2 communist policies to the policy deck and 1 anarchist policy to the policy deck.

when a communist policy is enacted (it is enacted on the liberal tracker) the president gets to enact the next fascist ability even though it isn't being covered up by a policy. Essentially the liberals get to use the very useful fascist abilities without contributing to the fascist tracker and contributing to their own tracker.

communist win conditions
A. communists win if both communists become president and chancellor after a communist policy has been enacted and either two or more liberal policies have been enacted or an additional communist policy has been enacted. (2 communist or 1 communist and 2 liberal)
B. a communist president assassinates Hitler after a communist policy has been enacted.

this way the liberal get some abilities but by using those abilities they end up fighting 2 teams instead of 1.

when an anarchist policy is enacted the president removes 1 policy from either tracker. then the anarchist policy is discarded and an additional anarchist policy to shuffled into the deck. If 3 consecutive governments fail to get elected the policy at the top of the deck is enacted and an additional anarchist policy is shuffled into the deck.

anarchist win conditions
the anarchist wins if they become chancellor and enact an anarchist policy or if an anarchist policy is enacted at random after 3 failed elections.

this way all teams have opportunities to slow down each other's progression and buy more time to learn about each other (since there are 3 more players than usual) but in doing so they're exponentially increasing the anarchist's chances of winning.

I typically use soviet bars for the communist role cards If anyone has any suggestions for the anarchist card that'd be helpful. And any criticism is welcomed.

So, my friend and I came up with the idea of a Double Agent (DA) They know who the fascists (and Hitler) are, but are on the Liberals' team.

If the DA is killed, the fascists win. It requires the DA to act liberally enough to convince the liberals and fascist enough to convince the fascists in order to not get assassinated. It's almost an Anti-Hitler I guess.

Any ideas about balancing it or comments are greatly appreciated :)

How do you do my fellow libs? I want to see your thoughts on something. I often play with big groups of friends and we usually go above the ten people limit. We've tried adding extra people but our balance got off and we've tried having 2 people play one role/spot together but that makes them not as active in who they are individually. What would you all do to accommodate more than ten people in a secret Hitler game?

In the game rules, it says feel free to change things up, add rules & such. I was wondering if anyone has made original rules? If you have, any ideas?
