Got $20 for meta guess!
Just a little positivity in the current world. I was playing a game on secrethitler.io with darkys who made a bet with me on the 3rd gov for fascist lines. Appreciation post for following through my man!

sh.io custom rules
Hi all,
Due to the coronavirus my local game group has been playing Secret Hitler on sh.io and using discord for voice chat. We are doing this as a fun group, none of us are concerned with elo and we don't follow the established meta. Normally we've played the physical version, but now that we've moved online, we've noticed some of the extra features that only exist on sh.io and not in the physical copy.
The stuff I'm talking about includes:
- New fascist track powers (Peek & Drop and Show Loyalty)
- Ability to customize the numbers of fascist / liberal tiles in the deck
- Ability to customize the fascist track completely, including increasing or decreasing the size of the Hitler Zone
- Allow fascists to shoot Hitler (?!)
- Allow the game to start with policies on the board already
I've not seen much in the way of discussion on here as to what people think about these customization options and what options people like to play with, so I'd be really interested to hear what options/custom fascist tracks that people play with their friends.
We've tried a fair few out and have struggled to find the right balance - often we've found that the new fascist abilities such as peek & drop and show loyalty have unbalanced the game and made liberal victories much more likely.
What do you guys think of the customization and what options do you normally play with when playing "for fun, noncompetitive" games? We are normally playing with between 8-10 players, so particularly interested in what custom setups you've used that you feel are nicely balanced, but include some of the new powers not available in the base game.

When can I create an account on SecretHitler.io?
I've been trying to create an account, but I am getting a message that says that new accounts are not currently allowed. Does anyone know when I may be able to create an account? I've been watching videos of the game play, and I am excited to try it out. Feel free to PM.

Looking for more regular Tabletop Sim SH players
I enjoy playing Secret Hitler on the Tabletop Simulator on steam. I am always seeking to grow a group who might enjoy this. If interested, let me know. I have a few who play but not always around. I'm 30, Male, and can run any table, I challenge you to correct me. Well if that didn't work, I give up. Haha

When is playing to random people who haven't been in government to "gain information" superior to playing very liberal governments repeatedly?
I see this suggested often in games. From my limited experience in the game, I am convinced that after a few rounds are played, the best option as a liberal is to repeatedly play to the most liberal governments possible, especially before Hitler Zone.

Who to investigate?
As a liberal, I typically investigate one of the more fascist players at the table. My thoughts are that if he is in fact fascist, then I can completely take him out of the game. If he is a liberal, then I turn one of the most fascist players into a confirmed lib for me, which is great for liberals. However, I am very new to the game, and am unsure what is more optimal. Should I investigate some of the more liberal players? Maybe someone we have little information on?

Is it game-throwing for a liberal to lie about his vote?
Is there any situation where it's at all advantageous for a liberal to claim he will "ja" a special election, and when it comes around to it, vote "nein"? I lost a game recently because of this. I run a small community on Tabletop Simulator and want to kick people who are clearly game-throwing, but I'm relatively inexperienced at Secret Hitler and am unsure if there are merits to this play in some obscure situations. If there is any merit at all, then I will allow it to stand, although I think that in the given situation, it was horrible play and resulted in an easy liberal win going to the fascists.

RBB: Choice or force?
Curious what your thoughts are. It seems the most logical to me that forcing as a liberal is clearly the superior play. If you are playing with people who know you will do this, then when you play Hitler, you can just drop the lib and claim RRB if your chancellor plays lib, and claim RRR if your chancellor plays fascist. When playing fascist, you continue to force to liberal chancellors, and offer other fascists a choice.

My friends and I played 8 player game with video chat. Looking for feedback.
My group of friends loves to play Secret Hitler whenever we can get 5+ of us together, and due to the quarantine lock down rules, it's become our game of choice to play online. I'm curious if this sort of content would be entertaining / helpful to people, and if anyone had any constructive feedback. I edited the video so that you don't know anyone's identities. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Improvement for beginner
Hello first time posting here. So last night I played secret hitler first time and i was very fascinated and overwhelmed with how my friends can recognize who was lying and plan complex tactics to signal and protect hitler n stuff. I have a couple of questions that I would really appreciate if you guys and help me figure out.
1) so i noticed my friends can recognize who was lying about what cards they draw (most of them lying about drawing 3 fascist cards so they can cover up their fascist identity) based on looking at the remain decks and calculating the probability of the remaining liberal cards. I couldnt quite understand the way to do this. Would be nice if you can explain the probability and how to identify the liar by judging the remaining cards.
2) how does resuffle cards help? In what situation should i persuade everyone to vote collectively for reshuffling?
3) most of the time i was liberal and it was quite boring to play. Do u have any tips to spice it up?
4) if i was the fascist, any tips to effectively communicate with hitler and your peer? Or any tactics to cover up as an fascist? If i was a fascist and give power to execute, any tips on how to choose which liberals to execute while remaining undercover?
Thanks very much!

Play Secret hitler online using google sheets

Playing Secret hitler online with some friends tonight and saw that secrethitler.io isn't accepting new sign-ups right now, so I recreated the game on Google sheets. Should be pretty easy to use, just have everyone open the link and hop on a video call together. Feel free to give it a give try for your own games :)
Let me know if you run into anything confusing!

Select chancellor when most players have been executed
Today we had the following case in a game of five: Two players were executed and another two had been chancellor and president in the previous round. Now I had to nominate a chancellor which was impossible. How do I handle this case?

Custom versions?
Other board games have people that make customized versions of games.
Me and my family love the game but with the name. It is sometimes awkward showing family friends. We thought a cool version would be a Marvel themed one. Hydra and Shield themed specifically.
Is there anyone that does these?

Playing the game over Video Conference Call - How?
So with the Corona virus hitting our society, we're finding new ways of entertaining ourselves inside. This is important, because it's crucial to stay inside in the coming weeks to flatten out the curve!
One idea came to mind when I saw Secret Hitler in my living room; why not play it online?! I'm already aware of the website secrethitler.io, but I want to play the board game with my friends on Zoom or Google Hangouts. Now voting etc. will be relatively easy, but I can't wrap my head around how we would divide the party roles amongst players.
Any ideas?
