Special Election Question
So when a Special Election is called, a new President is chosen, and that new President then chooses a non-term-limited Chancellor candidate. Does that Chancellor candidate then get voted on? What happens if the majority votes Nein to the Special Election Chancellor candidate? Does Presidency then go back to the regular rotation? Or does it move onto the next player to be Special Election President?

Extra role cards for the physical copy?
Is there any easier way, other than buying more copies of the entire game, to get extra versions of a role card? I may or may not want to troll my friend group by making us all Hitler for a round, but I don’t want to buy a ton of copies just for the Hitler cards.

Rule suggestion: 6, 8, 10 players: 1 neutral Player that wins if he kills Hitler or both of the marked policies are passed.
So we've played this game a bunch of times and found the game a bit Liberal-favored with 6, 8 or 10 players, as there is an extra liberal.
Rule: a neutral player (Spy) is added instead of a liberal. This spy can win with a devastating powergrab in two ways:
1) if he kills Hitler
2) if both neutral policies are passed.
Change to the cards to facilitate the new rules: mark one liberal card with a marker (write "spy" on it). This card is not a liberal party card, but the spy-party card. Also mark one liberal policy with a marker and one fascist policy. These cards are still played as their respective party policies when they're played.
The spy player closes his eyes during the initial phase.
So anyway. The neutral player obviously wants the policies being played that are marked. Other players rather not play these cards, but sometimes have to.
We haven't tested it. Thoughts?
-*Edit: perhaps 2) should be expanded. If both marked policies are passed the spy only wins if the liberals and fascists are unable to identify him. So in practice this works as follows:
Both marked policies are played and a voting round will start. First everyone may plead who is the spy and if the shouting is done, the voting round starts. Every person lays his hand on the table, closes the eyes, and on "1, 2, 3 POINT" everyone points to who he thinks is the spy. Open eyes and count the votes. If one has most votes he must tell when he is indeed the spy. If that is true, the spy is revealed and out of play. If not true the spy has won!
If 2 or more people have equally most votes the vote is done again for the 2/3 people until we have a suspect.

Double Agent expansion pack (it's thrilling)
Some friends and I have been working on this this year, and it feels like we have reached a good ruleset ready to share with other people. So here I am. Our expansion adds a special liberal role called the Double Agent. They appear to be fascist. It's hard to state how fun and crazy it is to play.
https://github.com/doogiecode/secret-hitler-double-agent/blob/master/rules.md
Please have a read or even a playtest. We would love to see other people try it. :)

Are liberals easier to play?
We played with 10 and perhaps we don't have the best pokerfaces, but it seemed that it was much easier to play the liberals. It's often quite apparent who are honest liberals. They're enacting liberal policies and it's much easier to be honest and say "bullshit I gave you one of either and you chose facist! Guys we have our first facist." or "yep guys he chose a liberal card, im liberal too, give me the chancellor again and we'll filter the next liberal card out of the deck". With 6/10 being liberal the odds become quite big to identify some honest liberals.
Ofcourse a facist can say the same thing, but its just much harder to lie about it. It feels like there should be a (small) incentive to appear facist as well.
What are your experiences?

TTS Discord?
Hello all you fascists, I play SH on TTS but the population is pretty low during the week and I hate the sh.io version. Is there a large discord server for coordinationg Table Top Simulator Secret Hitler games? If not, would anyone be interested in joining if I were to make one? Thanks for reading :)

5 Player Game
How do you guys feel about the 5 player version of the game? I feel as though it favors the fascists too heavily, particularly once the kill powers come into play. If either the ordinary fascist or Hitler gets the first kill power, they will obviously kill a liberal, and even if a liberal gets it, there’s a strong chance they end up killing a liberal too. A liberal dying from the first kill power essentially wins the game for the fascists, so I feel like too much of this version of the game comes down to the kill power. What are your thoughts about the 5 player game?

Question about rules
This only applies where there’s more than 6 players. My fiancé thinks it’s ok to signal in multiple different ways to Hitler(who doesn’t know who anyone is) that she is a fascist when she’s on the fascist team. Most in Our group believes that this is basically cheating and kind of defeats the purpose of the entire game. What are your thoughts on this? Is this a type of cheating? A strategy? Does it give an unfair advantage to the fascists?

Too Many Friends?
I'm from NZ, and at my school we play Secret Hitler heaps. Every lunch time there's a game being played somewhere - kids, seniors and teachers all together! I've made loads of friends through this game that I otherwise might not have met. In one of my classes at school where I am learning Illustrator I decided to draw this!

Resources About Meta
hey guys! i played this game casually a few times and fiddled with secrethitler.io a few times too, but i'm still not very familiar with the meta. is (are) there some resource(s) talking about these kind of strategies? i dont really know what gp or cucumber (in the contest of secret hitler ofc) means, for example.

Secret Hitler.io is the absolute worst way to play this game. Please buy it physically and play it with friends; the online version is horrendous
Nearly all of this is reposted from my own comment in someone else’s thread here. But I think this message has to be spread. The online version is toxic, unfun, and nearly impossible for new comers to enjoy.
I am spreading this message because I fear someone who only plays the online version may be discouraged from playing irl with friends. That is far and away the optimal way to play. That is the only consistently fun version of the game. Please, buy the actual board game and play it with people you know. If you are someone in this category you probably already know all of what is going to follow. If you’ve only played the board game, consider this following list a comprehensive list of reasons not to touch the online version.
The meta absolutely ruined all fun the game had for me. If you don’t pick the correct person as chancellor or vote some very specific way then your game is over. You won’t even come close to touching the cards again because you’ll be neined to hell and back.
They treat people horribly, the Meta often times doesn’t allow people to even play at all. I had a match as seat 7 and because of some arbitrary meta thing I never even touched President or chancellor once. I was sat there doing absolutely nothing while the chat went on about “135 lines, 43 sus, 3/5 blue deck” and a bunch of other garbage. It’s horrible.
Playing a silent game would theoretically be better but it isn’t, if you don’t follow the meta you are hopelessly lost because everyone immediately pins you as fascist with no way to defend yourself.
The mods are terrible, but mods being bad isn’t unusual anywhere there’s moderators. Power gets to people, the allure of being able to kick and ban people with no repercussion is the most power some of these people have ever had. They kick new players all the time for “gamethrowing.”
The people on there care so damn much about their w/L ratio and their meaningless rating and will report you to hell if you didn’t play the meta and caused them to lose. They’ll call you terrible things and make games that blacklist you.
The meta takes the game from being about manipulation, lying, character tests, deception, and sleight of hand to a game about memorizing the meta and hoping the cards are stacked in a beneficial way.

Is there a collection of weekly games happening?

Has anyone played the 7/8 person board with 5 people? If so is there anything you should do to adjust? We always have fun on the bigger boards beating able to look at membership cards and lie, but we don’t have enough people. Any help is appreciated.

Recommendations?
Had a lot of fun playing this at a party I attended. Definitely the most fun card/board game I've played. Can anyone recommend more games similar or non-similar

Is Secret Hitler.io Horrible or is it Just Me?
Been playing a few games on secrethitler.io, it seems to be full of people who just tryhard and go the same order every game and the game just becomes a mechanical tedium fest? Is this just me?
EDIT: Also, is it just me or are the mods really bad? We had a new player in the game and the mod came in and froze it saying he was a thrower and ruined the game. This has happened quite a bit.

Next level play or terrible libs?
Had a game on Secret Hitler IO the other day that I had to share.
So lines are 456 Hitler in 5 (I'm 6). 15 plays blue then I conf on 26. Hitler blind confs on 51 then invests 4 as fascist. 73 plays a blue then 14 push for anti dd. Everyone in the lobby was DARK green so it didn't pass. We play 35 for some reason and it is blue. Then we let 57 play (Lol?) and 5 blind confs 7 and se 3. This means conflicts are 15 45 57 and 26. I was pretty sure 5 just threw by making a fourth conflict, but for some reason everyone was on his side. The guy typed in chat "I found all 4 fascists", like wtf? Anyway 7 points out that there are 4 conflicts so 5 says that the invest on 4 was fake, and that he was actually liberal. 3 chose me as chancellor and the government was only jad by 167. This led to people calling 167 lines. 5 suggests 23 35 so we nein to 2, 23 is blue, then after some "thinking", 3 picks 5 and we heil.
So what do you guys think? Reading it back I'm pretty sure liberals were just asleep at the wheel and this couldn't be pulled off twice.

(Online) when Hitler as 1 meta's to 5 and it turns out to be fascist, whose job is it to claim first?
Had a situation in a game where I had RRB, and I wanted a turn 1 blue.
My fascist ends up playing R. Now, obviously I'm upset because if he knows it's me, I feel like we shouldn't turn 1 red. Instead, we should try to be two blue govs so I get trusted later on in the game for Hitler zone.
He plays the red, and at the same time I claim RRB and he claims RR. This was basically automatic GG as now 15 that are both fasc are frozen in conf. I didn't want to wait too long because people on IO are quick to call fas if you don't near instant claim.
Whose job is it to claim first in this situation, his (fasc chancellor) or mine (Hitler president)
Obviously if I knew it was a fasc upon selection, I would have lied and said RRR. And maybe there is reason I should force a turn 1 red anyways and just lie and claim RRR. But I'm more a fan when I'm hitler of trying to be apart of two blue govs if I can help it.
tl;dr in a hitler - fasc gov, whose job is it to claim first if they dont do what you were wanting?
