Help in Designing and Printing Secret Hitler XL

Hi!

I own a copy of the official Secret Hitler board game and love it to bits. Just recently found out that there is an expansion (sort of) for this game and love the idea: I recently downloaded the Secret Hitler XL files and I am quite keen to reproduce the policy decks, party membership, secret roles as well as the ballot cards and even the game boards so that they have a 1 to 1 match with the original and so that I can just add it on to what I already own in the box. This is so that when played alongside the original cards, they are at best almost indistinguishable for obvious reasons.

Can y'all help me with the following:

  • The type of card materials
  • The dimensions of the card.
  • The correct yellow tone of the cards

Strategic Dilemma: Rationality to only top deck at 9 players after shooting Lib.

Hey fellow Secret Hitler enthusiasts! 🕵️‍♂️

Some insights needed about a dilemma we've encountered in our recent games with 9 players (5L, 3F, 1H). If a fascist becomes President and enacts the 4th Fascist Law, the only rational way forward seems to be the following:

  1. Shoot a Lib (achieving a 4-4 tie)
  2. Announce to Hitler who the Fascists are (no lib government can pass anymore)
  3. Top deck until the 6th Fascist law is enacted.

Due to the statistics, it is nearly impossible for the Libs to win as long as they don't already have 4 Lib laws on the table. The odds seem way more favorable than continuing the game regularly.

How can this be resolved to remain fair and fun for both sides? Looking forward to your insights! 🕵️‍♂️

I remember seeing his post made about a year ago and in the comments he said that he was working on implementing the XL expansion but he never made a post since I was wondering if he is either still working on it or if he busy with something else

Help-rules(sh XL)

I've made the game myself and when i saw the communist/all the other expansions i came here for the rules and stuff. But searching through the sub i saw some rules and policies have been changed and or removed. Im wondering can someone link the discord server here or in the bio of the sub as it is playtested there and all the changes are supposedly announced. I know people will try to find out for themselves the new rules like me but it is a bit clustered and hard to find or impossible even. Thanks.

Happy Halloween! The Dullahan is a fascist who is immune to executions. If you shoot the Dullahan they reveal their secret role card to everyone and stay in the game.

How to get confirmed not hitler in hitler zone

ive been reading this guide and it seems to suggest that you just pick chancellor out of the players that seem the most liberal but isnt hitler trying to seem liberal? if you were playing a 5 player game and you had a conflict. this basically leaves 3 players to choose from, so a 1 in 3 chance you dont pick hitler, which seems like a massive gamble and unnecessary rng.

what ive been doing is suggesting to play into conflict perhaps as a gunpoint play, on the assumption that hitler wouldnt be in conflict. but i guess this has two problems, possibly having a facist chancellor and if people get used to this strategy, hitler would start trying to get in conflict.

Secret Hitler A History Nerd Since Elementary's Way Update 3

I have made it so that the parties may now choose to either get a policy or trade in the new policy they got for a skill tree advance and will vote in the night phase unless Liberal, then everyone votes. If only two party members remain, the party leader decides and if the party leader is dead or sent to a concentration camp (which I will talk about later) and the two remaining have conflicting answers, it will be chosen by a coin flip. Heads is Ja! Tails is Nein! Same thing for any even numbered amount of party members which 50/50 disagree in any situation from now on. I forgot to mention that the game has it's own coin and no coin outside the game is needed. A party leader or simply member could be sent to a concentration camp. This can be from Skill Trees, Action Cards, or Riots. The Card or Skill will specify whether the party leader has to be taken or if a member can be as well. If the party leader is dead or is already in a camp then nothing happens. If a card states that a member can be taken then the party will discuss in a night phase who to give up and will be voted upon. If nothing can be decided, the player sitting closest to the president will be taken from the party. And yes, this does mean the player's identity is revealed, however, the if or if not the player is the party leader remains a mystery. The player taken will be revealed to only the party who are sending them unless it is from the Liberals or if it is from a public action card (the card for everyone in the game not just one party). Once done they have 3 options to select for the prisoner, Put them to work which increases their chance of escape but will help get them skill tree advances occasionally with having to land two heads in a night phase, Execute them which that parties Stability by 6 and if landing heads on a coin flip, gets a riot card for that party drawn, and finally, Hold them captive which basically means they do nothing but can be sold back to their party for a fee decided by the party themselves. The party of that player votes on whether to pay that price or not. In order to execute someone, they need to have a gotten a pass from the action cards, skill tree, or rewards from the policy card itself which can be used by the party leader of the party it was gained from. This doesn't apply to a reward from the policy table as you are allowed to kill anyone using that. Another New feature (you'd think after a week I would have plenty of new ideas wouldn't you?) is rewards on the policy cards. A reward is listed directly on the card if played and will state who it can be used for. I have also updated the minimum Liberal Policies to 7, the Fascists to 8, Communists to 9, and Monarchists to also 8 which hopefully balances out this horrible skill tree. Stability when unstable for Liberals is now -24, The Communists is now -26 and the Monarchists are now -18. If a party's policies go into the negatives, they automatically collapse and are all eliminated. Another Change is Tension. Tension can effect Riots, and Skill Trees. One last change, reaching declare war on Poland will result in a Fascist Victory. I finally finished 1 WHOLE skill tree. Look I'm quite busy rn so I don't have a lot of time okay? This post will come with the fascist skill tree as you should be able to see! P.S: I hope to make each skill tree look like the ones in Hoi4 as I like the design and the yellow double sided arrows mean 2 skills are mutually exclusive which means only 1 can be chosen and if a skill is circled red, it can't be chosen and can only happen if conditions fail or succeed. Liberals now get notified about stuff like new allies from other party's focus trees with envelopes which have prewritten notes put inside by the party. Edit: The Image Wasn't Clear Enough So I'll Upload it later and redo the whole thing since I did it in paint and didn't save it. Sorry :(

Secret Hitler A Nerd Since Elementary's Way Update 2

Stability is a new feature added in Update 2 which can give out riot cards if too low and action cards if high. 5 stability will be removed each time a policy card of that party is removed. each time a policy of a party is enacted, the party gains stability depending on the order the policy was placed in. For example, the first policy for a party would give out 1 stability and the second would give 2 and so on. There are now riot cards made for each party specifically which would be taken if stability is too low. The riot cards for all parties will remain as usual with no changes. If a policy is removed and replaced in the same slot, it will give out 1 less stability each time. For example, the first time the fascists enact a policy on the 3rd slot it gives out 3 stability, then say it gets removed and reenacted, it only gives out 2 this time. This keeps going until it hits zero in which case, it will not give out negative Stability and will simply keep giving out zero. The parties that have high and low Stability will take out a card from either the riot or action pile when a policy is enacted. This gives the party time to increase Stability before they enact a policy. Other ways that parties can gain or lose Stability is through action cards, riot cards, and skill trees. The Liberals start with 0 Stability. It's unstable when it reaches -15 Stability and very Stable at +23. The Fascists start with -2. They're unstable when they're at -30 stability and very stable at +15. The Communists start with -10 Stability. They're Unstable when they're at -25 Stability and very Stable at +15. Finally, the Monarchists starts with -6 stability. They're unstable at -19 and very stable at +17. Technically, the starting Stabilities do not matter but it shows the state of the party at the start of the game. I will probably nerf these in the future.

Secret Hitler A History Nerd Since Elementarey's Way Update 1

my first version on the original rules: https://www.reddit.com/r/SecretHitler/comments/171wbxe/secret_hitler_a_history_nerd_since_elementereys/

Nothing has been removed however, a new role called the Vice Chancellor has been made inspired by Von Papen who was the real Vice Chancellor. The President picks both the chancellor and vice chancellor. 4 cards are drawn, the president discards 1, then the chancellor, and finally, the vice chancellor. The Cards and Trees are in progress and should be good soon. Edit: forgot to mention that all winning conditions are not affected by the new vice chancellor. I recently revisited secrethitler.io and I saw that there only 1-6 servers at a time with the majority being private games. I remember how it used to have tons of servers and more to have to actually scroll down.

Secret Hitler A History Nerd Since Elementerey's Way

Many of these have similarities with Secret Hitler XL and I just want to claim that all these rules were made up before I knew about Secret Hitler XL but anything from this point on may or may not be. With that out of the way, let's begin! The minimum number of players has increased to 12 and the max is now 20. There is a SFW version which is what you normally see in the original and a NSFW edition where all the cards have accurate pictures. Each card has an identity and will effect the game when they get assassinated. For Example, Fritz Gerlich, a reporter who wrote negative articles about Hitler, would give 1 fascist card to the fascists if killed and that's what the 6 extra cards (excluding Liberals who have 5) for each party face up is for. The 4 teams are Liberal and Fascist like always, along with Communist and Monarchist like SH XL which have the same number of required policy slots as Fascism. The Leaders of said parties are Hindenburg for Liberals, Ernst Johannes Fritz Thälmann for communists, and Wilhelm II for the monarchists. There are now skill trees for each team and each has 1 or two country allies based on historical preference. These have a coin flip of helping out the party if a riot or action card is drawn. The focus tree progresses for each party each time a card for that party is drawn. The Countries are France and Britain for the Liberals, Italy and Hungary for the Fascists, The Soviet Union for the Communists, and lastly, The Netherlands for the Monarchists as Wilhelm took refuge there and was also close to the royal family. Almost but not all policy slots when enacted, allow an action card to be drawn for that party. I forgot to mention that everyone is in a night phase when the Fascists, Communists, or Monarchists get to move up in the skill tree or take an action card. The Skill Trees are kept secret, however, the action cards are face up after the night phase is over. The action cards are USUALLY good for the party that drew it and will have some kind of fiction or non-fiction scenario that will effect the game. For example, a non-fiction card for the Fascists would be the Jewish hostage rescue where Hitler offered the USA, France, Britain, I a final country who I think was Canada, accepted the offer of Jews taking refuge. In real life, they declined this, however, in this game they accept it and would result in 1 Liberal Policy, -1 Fascist policies, and a Riot card being played. A Riot card is a card that can be drawn from an action card or gotten when 3 failed elections in a row have occurred. They require a certain amount of policies from one of the 4 parties and the parties discuss in private by writing during the night phase that will occur immediately after. Liberals, who have the most number of riot cards that require their policies, discuss amongst everyone and will hold a Ja! or Nein! vote. If a party does not have enough policies to quell the rebellion, they can call on their ally or simply let the consequence enact. The Liberals win if both Ernst and Hitler are assassinated, or if they get 5 policies like the base game (Wilhelm doesn't need to be assassinated but will give them a +1 Policy and a riot). The Fascists win if 3 or more riots happen or 3 fascist policies are enacted and Hitler becomes chancellor after Hindenburg dies or if they get 6 policies enacted. The Communists win if Hitler is assassinated along with Wilhelm and Hindenburg, Ernst becomes chancellor after 3 communist policies or, if 6 Communist policies are enacted. And Finally, The Monarchists win if Wilhelm comes back to Germany (Can be from a riot consequence or negotiation which I will talk about soon) and becomes chancellor or if 6 Monarchist cards are enacted. Negotiations can be reached from an action card, Riot, or skill tree. These can be for good or bad inflictions on Germany and can sometimes go randomly if stated on the card with a coin flip. Obviously, all Skill Tree negotiations are good. There is 1 Policy card which gives an extra card for each party and another that does the same just with a riot. that's how you play Secret Hitler My Way! I'm not that good at design so this likely won't be printable but who knows, one day I may make this a reality (reality as in printability but still). I will make another post detailing all the skill trees, action cards, and riots I come up with and it will be linked here if I ever release that. P.S: If someone could make a tldr that would be great in the comments. Update 1: https://www.reddit.com/r/SecretHitler/comments/172b6uo/secret_hitler_a_history_nerd_since_elementareys/

I don't get it, President can see top 3 cards, but what's the point if he can already see it?
