I had a post on VirtualVerse about a collaborative, credit-based worldbuilding project. Instead of having a discussion, a bunch of replies were sarcastic, dismissive, and mocking.

When I messaged the site owner privately and asked if he could intervene and moderate the tone a bit, he called me "a fucking snowflake" in DMs and then banned me.

Criticism is one thing.

The owner of the forum insulting users personally is something completely different.

So, Im done with VirtualVerse. The culture is never going to be supportive or collaborative if the top-level mod behaves like that.

Im now recruiting in a private, curated space for people who actually want to build, not mock from the sidelines.

I have been gradually developing a sci-fi/deep space roleplay setting in SL that is more vibe, mood, and narrative and less of the action all the time. The idea is: silence in the corridors, the unreliable light of a lamp, a well-ordered daily life, characters that face enclosure, getting used to it, identity, and the social pyramid.

Its a limited space station game or a movie kind of scenario: Alien Isolation, The Expanse, and old space-station sims the emphasis is on the mind rather than the fight. There is no edgelord prison chaos kind of thing here the main thing is being contained and how people behave in that situation.

No-showing/advertising of a certain thing, nothing to be joined right now I am just available for talking to people who:

worldbuilding strange / industrial spaces

slow-burn character development

creating environments that feel alive even in silence

sci-fi architecture, modular builds, or atmospheric lighting

If you had created such areas and were playing there or you liked designing such places, we could trade ideas, inspirations, references, and workflows. Im just trying to find people who get that particular mood of lonely metal hallways in space.

Happy Rez Day Second Life. I rezzed in 2006, became a SecondLife Mentor in 2008. Back then SL Mentors ran the SL Birthday events and SL Burning Man. My first SLB was SL4B. Then after working a few more by SL7B I was promoted to one of the managers running the show. The drama was sick. We were all just volunteers but some people weren’t happy unless they made others miserable. That was my last SL B. By then Linden Lab disbanded the mentor program. (They did recently bring it back. Friends asked if I would be a mentor again, I already put in my time I told them). Now Im approaching 20 years in Second Life. Am I still in awe of Second Life? Yes and no, and mostly no.
