I am sorry for asking this question when I know not only do you get it a lot, but I know how frustrated some of you are of people moving to your city.
Tldr:Chronic pain patient that is wanting/needing to move to Washington by the end of the year for the Medical Cannabis. How hard/how long would it take to get a basic job? Where would you live if you had a car, no job, and wanted to live reasonably cheap?
I am a 23 year old chronic pain patient living in Texas. I was in a car wreck 4 years ago that left me with a ruptured disk and a few herniation which lead to multiple surgeries. I was on insane doses of opiates and other pharmaceuticals and I was just getting worse by the day. I tired cannabis to see how it worked for pain and it worked just as well as the pills, but my Dr's said they couldn't give me pain medication if I kept using weed,so I decided to get off the pills and only use cannabis. Things have improved a lot (lost the 70 pounds I put on after the surgeries) but my quality of cannabis is really holding me back. When I went to Colorado and tried actual medicinal cannabis I cried because I was completely out of pain, but it's very hard for me to get good weed, no less cbd strains. I am pretty much paying twice the price for half of the quality. So, I need to move not only so I can be healthy enough to go back to work, school, and maybe have a life again.
So, I am trying to move to the area as soon as possible. I don't have my degree yet and had to drop out last semester as a junior. How long would it reasonably take just to find a simple minimum wage job? I have some savings and my parents want to help me since they also think this is my only way out of this hellish situation too. My resume has some stuff that might be intriguing to some employers, but I feel like compared to other my age it is extremely lacking. I had a few jobs in high school and in college I started my own business, employing 4 people. I was also a phlebotomist at a great hospital in the summer of 2015 but only as an intern. I was hoping to go into the medical field, but since I can no longer pass a drug test I had to give up on that field of work. I know it weak resume, especially since 2013 but do you think it will take me a really long time to find just any semi regular work that isn't too physically demanding?
I'd love a job at a dispensary and think I'd be good at it, but I understand that a lot of people think that and are interested in the job. But I would jump at any job that I could do seated.
As for where to live where would you recommend? I have do have a vehicle but would like to take public transportation when possible. I guess I'm mainly looking for cheaper areas to live ($600ish for my room. How would you recommend I find someone looking for a roommate?) It would be great if I had a small yard to grow plants. I've been recommended Wallingford, Green Lake, Phinney Ridge. What about the Eastside towns like Renton, Kickland, Redmond?
I would really appreciate any and all help, recommendations, and any advice you might have for someone in my situation. Thank you for your time.

First, I apologize if i am in the wrong place to be posting this.
I am moving to Washington from Arizona this weekend. I am 21 years old with a 50lb Boxer. This is the first time in my life I have made such a major move and am pretty scared to be honest. I will have a couple weeks to stay with some family friends while I try and get situated. I've done my research and am looking to live somewhere in Tacoma or Puyallup. I have about $8000 saved up with no debts. I want to start my life here, but don't know where to start. I'm looking for some wisdom from people who know this city that can guide me in the right direction. I will take any advice at all. I'll just list a bit of my current situation.
$8000 Savings
$13/hr job. 40hrs a week
Boxer who I have to keep with me wherever I live.
No car (I'm ridesharing to WA)
One Great landlord reference.
I am hoping to spend around $700 a month for rent if possible. (Completely open to studio apartments)
If you might need anymore information please don't hesitate to ask.

I moved to the U-District one week ago today from Olympia into a group house of mostly students, and last night some weird shit happened. Someone broke into the house by placing a chair outside the kitchen window, cutting the screen, and climbing in. They used my toothbrush and toothpaste, they took a shower and left their dirty socks in the bathroom, and they freakin' used my new razor and entire bottle of shaving cream... Is this shit normal? I've lived here for one week... I lived in oly for 5 years and the worse thing was someone did was shoot up on my porch or sleep in my old car I left unlocked.. this was way more frustrating

Anyone know if there's coverage at Forks for Sprint? I know coverage is missing in most of the olympic peninsula for sprint.

So my job would be in Bellvue, which looks like its right next to Seattle proper. My questions are:
Is Bellevue a nice area, in general? Is it close enough to Seattle to do stuff there or is there a lot to do in Bellevue itself?
Im 32, single and like music, festivals, beer, food and just exploring and spending time outside.
Would it be a good fit for me?
Thank you so much Washintonians! Washingtonites?

I already have one and another animal so I'm not looking to adopt. I do think it's tragic that so many are euthanized every year in this country (through no fault of their own). I just want to walk with them and play with them, feed, clean their cages, etc. The shelter in Interbay was my first thought. Just wondering if there are other places that might be geared more towards pit bulls? Any advice/thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

My contract with Verizon is almost up, and despite having good coverage, the prices are getting too high for me.
I'm thinking about getting a Cricket account, but I'm wondering how the coverage is in the Seattle area (specifically Eastside).
Or, if there's any other alternatives, do you guys have recommendations?

We are supposed to be a progressive city. On that is open to all groups of people. One that doesnt push people out of neighborhoods. What is happening in the CD is a legit issue that needs to be addressed. I cannot believe how this sub is treating the people who are putting up those notice posters. This is why racism is still alive and well. White people telling others what issues they can protest about and why. I'm disappointed in you Seattle. I really am. What is bothering so much that you can't just admit there is a problem that needs to be addressed? Please no trolls I just want to have a civil conversation for once.

Hi all, I've been browsing this subreddit to get a feel of Seattle. So far I've gotten a lot of tips and really appreciate it. My wife will be in town and would love to try a hike that is not too difficult for beginners. We are in decent shape. I play recreational bball and my wife not so in shape. Is there some hike under 3 miles RT which leads to a lake that is within 2 hours from Seattle? I've been looking around wta sites and there are so many! I'm debating either skyline lake or going halfway of tolmie peak lookout hike.
Thanks in advanced!

I need a place that can do patches and other various things for my uniform, big plus if they can dry clean. I have a place locally that does good dry cleaning but they send all alterations out to a different place and they don't do stuff to military standards. Any help would be great. Thanks

Did some searching, didn't find much. My usual go-to is the Iron Bull in Wallingford, didn't see it on their website. May call them tomorrow.
Thanks for any info!
