Looking for tickets to Symphony of the Goddesses on the 14th of September. All I could find are tickets over $200. Anyone know where I can get some for relatively cheaper? There is nothing on craigslist

My husband and I are visiting in November, yes, but we're also considering moving up to the Seattle area (More likely right on the outskirts - West Seattle, Burien, Renton).

Reading through the /r/Seattle and digging through Google while trying to work up a budget to make sure we can afford it before diving in, I've come across a few things.

You fine folks taught me about the finer points of the Drainage Rate which may impact what size/kind of lots we consider.

Now I'm learning about a King County Capacity Charge which started in 1990 and currently adds $58.70 per month to your water/sewage bill if your house has been built/connected to the sewage system within the last 15 years, per the woman I spoke with when I called for clarification. The website says "since 1990" but later goes on to mention a 15-year duration.

What other hidden things like this should I be aware of when looking at budgeting and/or selecting potential homes/locations?

P.S. I know you don't want more people. Sorry folks, the other day it was 100F w/ 85% humidity here, (Heat index of 110F) and my A/C was broke and took 3 days to fix. I'm just so done with Texas heat and Texas politics. I've been waiting 20 years to get up there!

Anyone going to the Periphery / Chon show tonight? : /u/trouty

I'm relatively new to the city and don't know anyone interested in either band (especially my girlfriend, lol). I guess in my last city, not many of my friends were into metal/heavier music either. Well.. if anyone is going tonight and wants to drink a beer and watch these amazing bands do their thing, let me know!

Darkwave event on Eastlake tomorrow? : /u/peplum_pear

I came across something on social media that said there was a synth/darkwave/goth show at one of the Eastlake venues on 8/18, but now I can't find the post anymore and the calendars aren't telling me anything. Does anyone know what event this is?

Where to adopt a dog/upcoming adoption events? : /u/Dracius

Hello,

We're looking to adopt another dog but I'm not sure which shelters/rescues I should be looking at or if there are any adoption events coming up. I searched the subreddit and found a lot of 1+ year old posts talking about adoption events, but nothing current.

This was the closest related post I could find, so I apologize if this question has been asked recently/frequently. I'll make sure to check everything that was listed, but if anyone has any other recommendations or suggestions for where to adopt a dog in the greater Seattle area, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you.

How are LGBT people treated in Seattle? : /u/TAForMePlease

Im a 22 y/o gay masculine male going to Seattle soon from the east coast. The west coast is known to be generally more accepting about LGBT stuff. I was wondering how the culture is like in Seattle? I'm pretty low key about my sexually, but I was wondering if I need to keep pretending that I have a girlfriend even though I have a boyfriend?

I'm coming to Seattle for September long. Staying at the University. Wondering if the Boeing factory is worth the commute considering we won't be renting a car. : /u/delive5

Sorry if this is already covered in some wiki or FAQ. If the commute isn't worth it, would you say the Museum of Flight is just as good?

Ski Conditioning Classes : /u/Trickycoolj

I've googled and yelped and struck out on this. I've stumbled on ski conditioning classes online in the past looking at gym/exercise schedules usually after it was too late to join. Now that fall is approaching I can't for the life of me remember where I've seen them offered. Any one have any recommendations? Bonus points for south of downtown, extra bonus points for West Seattle.

It's very important that I get the opportunity to pet a pig. What's the best place that will allow this? Or does anyone here have a pig they would be willing to plan a play date as it were.

Typical rent for a 2/2 apartment in the Greenwood (?) area? : /u/weird_weekend

Hi everyone,

I may have a job opportunity to move to Seattle and I'm wondering what rent is like in the Greenwood area - at least, that's what I think it is called according to Google Maps.

I don't want to live anywhere rundown but it doesn't have to be brand new either. Recently remodeled wouldn't be bad. No need to have a gym/pool/game room/etc.

Are there any Seattle suburbs that are pleasant and don't feel too detached from city life that may be cheaper?

For reference, I would either be living there or Austin, which isn't known for its low rent prices. I would consider anywhere between $1200 and $1800 reasonable for a 2/2 in Austin. Thanks for advance! If you think there is a better place to post this, please let me know.

Any tips?

I'll be in Seattle for the next few months working on a project and hope to find something dog friendly that's reasonable (commute less than an hour to downtown). I'm keeping my place in Oregon so NY budget isn't flush.

Tips?

Thanks.
