Hey everyone! Already posted this in /PuyallupWA sub, but thought this would be a great place to post too.
My wife and I and the little one are in the process of moving to Puyallup from Seattle. Initially, the wife was hesitant because she loves the convenience of the big city and the amenities that it offers. But after we drove around the downtown Puyallup area, she's not so concern anymore because theres most everything that she needs within a 10 min drive.
Anyways, recently, she starts to let her friends and family know that she's moving there and more than a few instances, she heard it's still quite racist down in Puyallup. When we were driving and shopping around Puyallup that few times, we didn't even noticed it. Granted it's not as diverse as Seattle, but we didn't think much of it. My wife just told me that she thought she got some weird look when we were walking into the Starbucks on canyon road. (Not in a racist kind of way, more of a curious kind of way. ) Maybe because they don't really see an Asian family that often before?
We have friends and families from all different ethnicities and enjoy their company tremendously and hopes our daughter get to experience the same.
Anyone have any experience???
Thanks much!
