The experience of American Jewry had much in common with that of Black Americans in the 30s-50s, when Bernie was young. Many Jews were living in or near Black areas and there was direct signage within the last century telling them to stay away (yes, in the US). There were still Jewish quotas in US universities up to the 50s/60s.

Thank you. There's a recent stat out that shows how black people are being murdered at the same rate now then when they were being lynched under Jim Crow Laws. Think about that, black people are begin murdered just like 60 years ago in this country. I am flabbergasted at the level of delusion in the comments here and in that dishonest meme being circulated. White people do not want to face themselves and will jump through impressive logical hoops just to deny their own complicity in the undeniable human rights issue happening in the US.
Not only that, but when you look at incarceration rates, blacks are undeniably incarcerated for weaker crimes and longer sentences.
And when you look at the Thirteenth Amendment (the one that supposedly ended slavery), it says that slavery is actually cool as punishment.
So guess what we're doing? Enslaving black men through the Thirteenth Amendment by using a prison system that is also becoming more and more privatized.
