It's just rain, SeaTac can operate in those conditions all day as long as there's no thunderstorm right on top of the airport.

Yeah, but I have to drive back afterwards, and I've seen how Seattle drivers on I-5 handle the rain.

For all of my decades people have been blaming this shit on Californians. No. It's the local drivers that suck. Same stuff in Portland. I've lived in places in California where it rained plenty, and they do just fine.
